Pros:

My 14 year old son was developing bad acne! It was hurting his confidence. He has been on it for 3 months and it has changed his life! It worked within the first 2 weeks! He has never complained about any side effects. I couldn't be happier!

Cons:

Its worth the money to me!

It's life changing and feeling good about yourself is priceless!

Pros:

Doesn't dry out skin
Works almost over night
Doesn't make skin irritated
Doesn't feel gross on your face
Very effective
Little use, big results

Cons:

Nothing, bit pricey, worth it!
If your not consistent, not as effective,

This is one of the best products I have ever used and I highly recommend it. Although it seems expensive, you use very little of it on your skin, that it doesn't run out easily. Good for people with sensitive skin, works very quickly, and when used consistently you can have clear skin quickly. This is so good, best product ever! Very happy!

Pros:

Definite improvement after one use
Almost clear skin at the almost two week usage mark
Stops spots from forming
Takes only 1 or 2 nights to kill existing spots
Side effects don't seem to be permanent

Cons:

Incredible soreness and irritation the first week and a half including extreme redness, ridiculous amounts of skin peeling, tenderness to the touch, vastly increased sensitivity to sunlight and skin care products such as moisturizers, swelling.

Face still goes red in the heat or cold.

Experienced superficial scarring initially, this has since flaked off.

Skin looks tight and 'wrinkley' whilst you're still adjusting to it.

Concerns about if the product will stop be

I'm a 19 year old female with hormonal acne that has not cleared with OTC products. My acne was described by the dermatologist as 'very mild'. I consistently had a few small spots on my forehead, clogged pores on my chin and about 7 whiteheads across my cheeks at any given time, which occasional huge and painfully breakouts next to my eyebrows. I was put on oral antibiotics and Duac nearly two weeks ago now. The OAs aren't working, but... The Duac works. At first I was horrified by the side effects. However, I persevered, and they've subsided vastly. Now my forehead and next to my eyebrows are 100% clear. My chin has less clogs too. My cheeks have cleared up considerably. I now am getting very small clogged pores instead of white heads, and nowhere near as wide spread as before. I have some post acne marks that fade well with lemon juice. Every morning I woah with a natural, peppermint based soap and moisturize with 1-2 drops of pure jojoba oil. At night time I wash with the same soap, then apply Duac to my dry skin on my forehead, next to my eyebrows, on my upper cheeks and chin. I wait for this to dry and then apply jojoba oil, being careful not to spread the Duac with the jojoba. A few words of warning: Stay completely away from your eyes, mouth, and where you'd get smile lines. I left too small a gap between the Duac and my eyebags and my eyes swelled up like a cartoon character. Allow the Duac and moisturizer to dry fully before letting your hair or bedding touch your face. Wear at least factor 30 sunscreen during the day whilst using this cream, even if you only apply it at night. I recommend the ROC brand. Stop picking at your skin, it'll make your acne multiply and spread.

Pros:

Works very quickly
Is the most effective treatment I've tried
The tube runs out relatively quickly.

Cons:

Dries skin
Can cause excessive burning when used in conjunction with foundation/moisturiser.

Two days after I began using Duac, I noticed a big difference. I wasn't getting any new spots, and the ones I had were slowly starting to fade away, leaving my skin smoother than it had been in months! On the third day, I started using it during the day and applying moisturiser before and sometimes after I put it on. This significantly increased the burning sensation and got so bad, it caused burns across my face! It wasn't until I went back over my routine that I realised it was combining badly with whatever was in the moisturiser (i used three different ones -- all stung!). Same thing happened with my foundation. I noticed that other people were reporting excessive burning and had to stop using it. I decided to stop moisturising during the night and only during the day when I had washed the duac off, and my skin took to the duac fine again - and cleared up within two weeks! I would advise people to be cautious about whatever products they combine with duac -- because this accelerates the burning and makes it seem unbearable. They stop using it because they think it's too sore, but I do think it's down to the makeup/creams you use mores than the product, which only mildly tingles. At least that was the case for me!

Pros:

I'm a male model, and only get a few spots every now and then (YES MODELS DO GET SPOTS), mostly from shaving all the time but duac seems to fix the problem very quickly if applied to the area/spot at night.

Cons:

i guess its quite expensive but i don't notice it

get it and give it a go. no harm in trying.

Pros:

Calms the acne and spots quickly,
Reduces redness,
Minimizes new ones forming
No smell
No grease or color
Absorbs into skin instantly
A little usage goes a long way
Free via Doctor
Instant result from Day 1

Cons:

Dries my skin too much
Winkle appearance (not permanent I hope)

The pros far outweigh the cons so it's worth the minor cons. Also it's the first time I have been to the doctor for decent acne treatment and from Day one, it is superb at healing any current acne and minimizing new ones from forming. Just use once a day in the evening and let it work its magic.

Pros:

Clears acne
Smooths bums
Fades some redness and dark marks
Not very drying
No smell
Dries quickly

Cons:

Can't wear with makeup (it gets flaky and very obvious)

I'd like to thank the universe for discovering this magical product. Seriously, my acne was really bad, and now it is almost not there! My skin is so smooth, if you got a blind man to feel my face he would never in a million year think I had pimples. Sure- the spots aren't exactly gone, and I always wear foundation and concealer (just to look totally flawless) but it is a MAJOR improvement. I started getting acne in 5th grade, and in 6th grade I began using OTC benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid gels. Let me tell you- CVS brand acne products are NOT very effective. My derm finally prescribed me something, and so it was about the middle of 7th grade when I started Benzaclin. Now I'm in 8th grade and it's almost funny how much my skin changed. Of course, at the start it wasn't working spectacularly, but i am so glad that I kept using it. Now, every night I smear it on religiously over my chin, upper lip, forehead and jawline, and I wake up to find a relatively okay looking complexion. Next time I go to the derm I might need to get put on something stronger to rid me of acne for good, but for now all I can say is I LOVE YOU BENZACLIN!

Pros:

Reduced redness of my acne after only one usage.

Cons:

None

So after 7 years of suffering with mild acne, I decided to go to the doctors and its really knocking my confidence as I am now 17! Anyways, the doctor prescribed me "duac gel" which honestly I really didn't think was going to work! But to my amazement after just one usage, my acne has toned down! If it can do that in one night, what will it be like after a month? I'm so excited! Please don't think this is another useless product! It really does work!!

Pros:

The only acne medication/product that has ever made a real difference - and it acts so fast!
It really, really worked for me.
Nice texture, you have to use a lot (a 2cm line) but it sinks into the skin really quickly, and makeup goes over it really nicely.
A pleasant smell, clean but not clinical.

Cons:

My only (very, very minor) qualm with Duac is that my t-zone is still slightly too oily, but a little bit of face powder fixes this no problem!

I have tried almost every over the counter spot-fighting cleanser/exfoliator/moisturizer/gel there is, and ditto with medication - I have tried all the acne-treating antibiotics available in the Uk (I'm still on Lymecycline, but only out of habit), as well as topical creams (which just made my skin even more oily), and nothing had any effect... my skin was actually getting worse over time, with more frequent and aggressive cystic spots appearing, particularly on my cheeks - which for a long time had been the only clear bit of my face... (and I'm 21, so my skin really had no excuse!) So I'd pretty much given up finding something that would actually work, but thought I would give Duac a shot while I waited for my referral to be put on Roaccutane, since I basically had nothing to lose. The first couple of days using Duac gave pretty much the result I was expecting - dryness, oiliness and slight irritation in one horrible combination, with no effect on my acne. But after about a week of daily use, things changed! My cystic spots began shrinking, I got less blackheads, and only the teeniest, try-hard whiteheads still came through occasionally... My skin was pretty much clear, and indeed almost glowing! I can see and feel Duac changing the way my skin behaves, and definitely in a good way! I have had a couple of minor blemishes come through in the hormonal week before my period, but nothing compared to what it used to be, and with continued use I can see it having a real and sustained difference. I can finally say good bye to the acne-ridden menace that was my skin for so many years! I'm still going to go on Reaccutane, because I want permanently clear skin without having to rely on a daily cream, but I'm now slightly concerned that my dermatologist won't see the need because my skin is so improved! Note: I was dubious about how much you were meant to use (a 2cm line of it each time), but it sinks into the skin really well and doesn't feel at a

Pros:

Works quickly and effectively
One tube lasts a long time
More effective than anything I've tried previously

Cons:

Spots will come back when you stop using it
A little bit irritating at first, will flake skin if you don't moisturise

I've had mild to moderate acne (no cysts) on my t-zone and the sides of my cheeks every since high school (now 24). When I was a teenager, I never really thought going to the dermatologist was necessary so I tried every OTC product under the sun - Proactiv, Neutrogena, herbal stuff over the internet - you name it, I've probably tried it. Nothing really worked so once I got to college I finally went to see a dermatologist, who prescribed Duac, which worked almost immediately. Within a month my spots had cleared up. For the first time since I could remember, my face was completely, 100% clear!! Every so often I'm fooled into thinking my face is now permanently clear, so I stop using Duac, and the spots always come back. Every time I stop, within a few weeks the spots reappear, so I guess I'm stuck with this forever, which is the only negative. This burns a little bit on the skin, but I've found it goes away within a week or two. BE SURE TO USE MOISTURIZER because your skin will flake if you're not careful! It's quite drying. My routine is the same in the morning and at night: 1) Wash ace with fresh brand soy face cleanser 2) Apply DUAC 3) Dab on SK II Skin Signature Cream This product combination has given me the best skin I ever remember having - clear, bright and even. (I also used a lot of Aveeno face products before I decided to splurge on SK II and I've found it also works very well in combination with the Duac.)
