Pros:

after several weeks it began helping

Cons:

after a few months it stopped working

I'm 39 and have been dealing with moderate/severe acne for 20 years. I have yet to find any product that helps consistently. This can be drying and is hard to spread the pea-sized amount all over your face, so I mixed it with clindamycin lotion to make it easier to apply all over without using too much. After 3-4 weeks it began to work and my skin was relatively clear (never perfect) for 2-3 months while doing this. Then, it seemed to just stop working and I'm breaking out all the time for the last month. I guess you can become immune to it. I'm very dissapointed.

Does the trick... kind of.

Pros:

Clears 90% of spots.
More confident.
Free on NHS.

Cons:

It burns, tingles and skin flaked.
Didn't completely clear skin.
I didn't want to ruin my skin.

I am a 14 years old female. I started getting acne around 11/12 years old just as I was starting high school. (On face, neck, check and back.) At first it didn't affect me, but as you grow up you become more insecure and self conscious about the way you look. Therefore I tried everything I could get my hands on. I spent hours watching YouTube videos, and searching up methods to get rid of acne. I went to the doctors twice about my skin. The first time I was recommended 'Zinc', it wasn't great, I can't remember if it cleared my skin, but I am guessing it didn't as I stopped. About a year later, March 2013, I went back, this time I was prescribed 'duac once daily gel'. At first it made my skin worse, and it took a while to work. For the first couple weeks/months my skin was burn, tingly, flake, and I had red patches. I was even more upset about my skin. I hated moisturizing as it seems to give me spots too. Therefore I rarely did. But around the 3rd month my skin was looking a lot better, less spots, on hormonal. It was such a big improvement. However at some points I did break out, and it made me really upset. I was about 4 months into it, when I gave up (July) and I haven't used it since. My skin is breaking out again, and I am once again insecure and annoyed about it! Although I wasn't successful, I would still recommend it. Just because it wasn't great on my skin, doesn't mean it won't work on yours. Try it! But don't let spots get you down, a lot of people have them. Life is too short to get annoyed over them, they will eventually go! :)

Pros:

Clears up acne a little

Cons:

Takes a while to start seeing results
doestn't fully clear acne
dries our skin bad

I tried this stuff for my acne and was disappointed. It was a prescription from my doctor, and I tried it for a couple of years. It seemed to reduce acne, but never get rid of it. It treated current zits/pimples but didn't protect that well for new ones coming. My face was also dried out badly after using it for a while.

Pros:

all acne goes away in 3 weeks, treats new acne in 2 days.

Cons:

makes skin very dry, and iyt peels the skin. Does not do anything for acne scars which occursafter it takes care off the acne. I think it prolongs the scars' healing.

this does really work well on acne but not acne scars.

Pros:

It used to work really well for me and then...OH DEAR GOODNESS!

Cons:

Stopped using it for a while (chanded to something I thought was more severe then swapped back when I had cleared a good bit) then used 1 night. Woke up to a red face; like I had been sun-burnt! I looked like a lobster and no amount of make covered.

Depends on you; worked great and then I reacted badly. I would say proceed with caution and also patch-test before hand. I found it dried my skin and was slightly painful even at the best of times.

Pros:

- Controls breakouts
- Reduces inflamation quickly
- Affordable

Cons:

- Takes a while for skin to adjust to the product. it causes initial drying and peeling
- Leaves horrible red marks after the spot has gone away

I have moderate acne and sometimes break out in really painful spots. I found this product helped to reduce inflammation greatly however overall time for spot to completely go away is longer because of the horrible red marks left over. Usually i dont get red marks and they fade quickly but I still have bright red marks left over from spots a month ago! It also caused my skin to peel as it is quite strong..but this didnt last very long. after about a week my skin adjusted to it and it doesnt peel anymore.

Pros:

cleared SOME pimples.

Cons:

pricey.

at first, it was good, but after a while, i got big pimples. the whiteheads, were going away. i don't have blackheads so i don't have to worry about that. i used this in the morning, and differin at night. lately, i put this on, and put panoxyl on the big pimples. but it left black marks. thank GOD for makeup. i think its effective. i'm taking oral meds too now. i'm taking erythromycin. it's my first day and my stomach is killing me.
