Pros:

It works - FAST

Cons:

So far none

I'm 32 and never had a problem with acne until the past year or so. When I started having break outs I was clueless about what to do. I tried Neutragena and I swear the acne actually started getting worse! The area between my eyebrows exploded in painful swollen red bumps, the area around my mouth developed numerous white heads. I was devastated and ashamed. I didn't want to go to work, didn't want to show my face anywhere! Last week I ordered Proactiv and used the mask as a spot treatment every night. I'd read great reviews on how it dried out pimples fast. I was so disappointed. Not only did it not help, but the bumps between my eyebrows were still growing in number. The Proactiv inflamed them, made them red and puffy. I broke down and went to an NP yesterday. I told her how upset I was and that I just didn't know what to do. I've never dealt with this before and my self esteem is at an all time low. She prescribed Benzaclin and Doxycycline and told me to give it a few weeks before I started seeing results. I used the Benzaclin last night and again this morning and already the bumps are disappeairng! They are no longer swollen and inflamed, a few of them aren't even red anymore. This is after only two applications. So to anyone suffering out there, give this a try. It was super expensive ($175), but I found a coupon online on the Benzaclin website and saved $65, my insurance paid $50, so I ended up spending $60...BUT it was totally worth it!

Pros:

-Works
-Gives your face dry feeling if you are prone to oily complexion
-You will not become immune to it
-Can be used with moisturizer if needed (before or after application, either way)

Cons:

-CAN MAKE YOU VERY RED IF USED AGGRESSIVELY

I had terrible acne when I first went to derm. 4 years ago and I got prescribed this and it has been a godsend. However I cant stress enough how little you should use for the first 3 months.Originally I went crazy with it trying to rid my face of pimples and I thought the redness wouldnt bother me since "hey im acne free!" But the redness I experienced became a living hell for the 3-6 months it takes for your skinn to get "used" to this powerful cream. So I would advise you with my detailed experience to use LESS THAN A PEA SIZED AMOUNT for he first 2 months at least.I know we want to relieve ourselves from the physical and emotional pain of acne but dont subject yourself to an extra needless emotional pain like I did. This is very strong and will work wonderfully but please use a very little amount until you get adjusted.

Pros:

Helped relieve acne.

Cons:

Not terribly cheap, made me dry and sensitive to the sun, stopped working. Hard to find at chemists.

Like with other topical creams Ive tried, it helps, but stops working. So I'm having Blackmores B Vitamin Complex with Nature's Own Zinc (separate). And I'm getting more of Vitamin B5 (separate), because the B5 in the complex is too low, should be having like over 500mg a day of B5 at least to get rid of acne. And I'm waiting on my order from SkinB5 for the cleanser, moisturiser and mask.

Pros:

Helps dry out and reduce pimples. Also minimizes the appearence of pores.

Cons:

Dries out skin, feels pasty at times, Expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use this in the morning after I shower. It is nice to put on the face in the morning time. If paired with a good moisturizer, you can't really feel it working. I moisturize about two minutes or so after putting Duac on. The only bad thing is that sometimes, it feels pastey when you put it on. It has never bleached anything of mine...

Pros:

Really improved my severe teenage acne, removed excess oil.

Cons:

Not completely clear, yet, scabs left from previous spots

Even though it is not completely clear, the doctor said that it would be two months before it started giving results. This week I have been using it twice a day for two months and a dramatic difference - no excess oil and very few blemishes (no spots, just scabs from former ones). It has really boosted my self-esteem and stuff.

Pros:

I put it on the areas I was breaking out in and apart from a few here and there prevented any more acne. When put on current pimples it reduced inflammation quickly.

Cons:

Didn't really do much for the few white heads I have but I now use it with a salicylic acid exfoliant once every few nights so they're gone. Didn't reduce the red pigments that stayed for a while but again the exfoliant has started doing this. Also when I did put it on in large amounts I broke out in a minor rash for a few days.

Great product, my skin is almost flawless now apart from a few red marks yet to fade. Stick to putting it on at night so any redness or dryness is gone by the morning.

Pros:

Looking forward to using it to clear up skin.
DOES NOT HAVE TO REREFRIGERATED.
Good price with insurace.
Prevents future breakouts.

Cons:

Causes your skin to look pretty bad at the first week or two.
takes 3-4 weeks to look better.

This solution is most likely, depeding on if your allergic or not, going to clear up your skin. It will keep your skin clear and you shouldn't have any major problems again. If you start to, ask your phsycian. Unlike many of the previous reviews state, the Duac gel does NOT have to be refrigerated, that statement on the box was for pharmasist ONLY. Looking forward to seeing the end results.

Pros:

-Clears acne fast
-Get rids of whiteheads

Cons:

-Dries skin
-Price (if insurance don't cover it)

I love, love this product. I was using retin-a before this product and that destroyed my face and caused my whole face to break out in large cystic like acne. I never had bad skin but occasional pimples here and there so I thought retin-a will perform miracle to smoothen my face from acne when I was a teen. But the initial break-out of the product was just horrible. I'm in my med 20's and I felt like I was going back to my teen years. In desperation I went to my doctor and asked him about benzaclin since I work in the pharmacy I read into a lot of things. I know with the combination of antibiotc (clindamycin) and benzoyl peroxide I was hoping it helped. Whithin the first day the cystic acne was minimized. I was already loving this product. I used it for 3 days and the improvement was drastic. Since I was using retin-a for 3 months already my skin was already used to the whole drying and peeling part so this product didn't really make me peel that much, just the first day. I suggest you the buy a product called ALBA aloe and green tea moisturizer. Its expensive around $20 but it will last you a long time and its so wonderful. It will definitely hydrate your skin and its good under make-up. Which I only use Bare Minerals. So it has been a week and a half and I finally can look at people in the eyes. I use my retin-a at night and in the morning I use Benzaclin in the morning. Both seems to do wonders together but Benzaclin has saved my face from the terrible initial break-out from retin a. I recommend this product to anybody who suffers from acne.

Pros:

This product cleared up my skin(which at the time was breaking out horribly) within 2 days. Not completley but a great improvement! Didn't dry out my skin, but I think that's because of the warm environment so it may be different for you.

Cons:

Went to the beach today and my face was totally sunburnt! Ow! Use high SPF, I used 50 and my face looks like a lobster at the moment.

Fantastic! I can go out in public without wanting to hide my horrid skin! It was fast acting! Just remember that sunscreen! :D
