expencive!

i have been using duac for a while after my doctor recomended and prescribed this to me, he told me how to use it and the packet came with instructions and a mini diary that you can use to record how bad your acne is and the date and you can tick it when you have used it, so i looked forward to doing that every night! (: i totally recomend this im only 12 and this didnt hurt my skin so it shouldnt hurt yours. hope it works for you i still have a few pimples but they will go away soon !(; you will breakout at first because duac removes pimples deep in the skin so u ont breakout after you have used this! wish me further luck and i hope rest of my pimples go away before i go back to school in 1 week and 2 days!! good luck alls!!

Pros:

Works fast!
Clears up skin!
Fits in with skincare regime
Easy to use

Cons:

Slight dryness for the first week
None

I was on adapalene and clindamycin phosphate gel for 6 months and saw no results, my face was always red and covered with acne. I couldn't shave and if i did it would yield terrible results. I switched to this stuff and the first few days my acne started to clear up! I use a light salicylic acid cleanser in the morning and night, a light salicylic acid moisturizer in the morning, and benzaclin at night. After about one month of this routine my acne and red spots started to clear up! My stubborn acne that I have been struggling with for years is gone. I have tried almost all prescriptions and over the counter stuff, the only stuff that seems to work is BP and Clindamycin combo therapy If you have been struggling with acne, this is the final topical product one needs. It works well for ALL acne types!

Pros:

It works, which is all I wanted it to do.

Cons:

Really dry, flaky skin at the beginning but skin grows more tolerant after about 2 weeks.
Caused a really bad initial breakout and made me want to quit using it.
Has to be kept refrigerated which is problematic if you're travelling.
It expires quite fast.

The first 2-3 weeks of using this were quite hellish.I had worse breakouts than ever before with dry, red flaky skin. Then after 3 weeks it was like some sort of miracle and my skin just constantly improved. It is now 98% clear after 6 weeks and the only downer is that red marks are still lingering.Once they fade my skin will be totally flawless thanks to Duac.I wouldn't use this product just before a big event as the first few weeks are the worst but you really have to stick with it for it to work!Don't give up before 6weeks unless you have really, really sensitive skin as your skin will get used to it.I would all say to get a good moisturizer.I love La Roche-Posay Effaclar Compensating Soothing Moisturizer which helps combat the dryness. I would also say to wash your face with warm water if you don't already as this helps remove the dead skin and opens up the pores so the gel can be easily absorbed.I give it 4/5 because ideally you wouldn't want the initial dryness/breakouts but once you get passed that it's 5/5.

Pros:

It works for me, unlike Duac, Retin A, Aczone, Sulfacetimide (sp?), Neutrogena spot, salycic acid of any kind, AHA's, etc. My skin texture looks great in the light (I know you know what I'm talking about-that bright/shadowy light we hide from). Blackheads are gone...they just dry up and come out of my pores, acne scars fade faster, gel-like cream that spreads nicely, works fast (few days zits/cysts were already shrinking/drying up.

Cons:

It dries the crap out of my skin! I have ALWAYS been afraid of moisturizers, but need one w/this stuff! I use the Suki balancing oil that controls oil and dryness...awesome stuff/haven't got one zit from it!

Try it for your stubborn acne that doesn't respond to the others. Use a moisturizer with it or your skin will dry/tighten and crack. This does get better after a couple weeks. My skin had a sandpaper texture, but since it was working on the zits, I stuck with it and love the stuff. I hope it keeps working...crossing fingers!

Pros:

I had very oily skin, the Benzaclin made it more matte. I used to get big heavy pimples, not anymore.

Cons:

Doesn't do ANYTHING for blackheads or whiteheads. In the winter it makes my skin super flaky.

Good cream, works well if used every night.

Pros:

dries up acne

Cons:

initial breakout
drys skin

I have been on benzaclin for 10 days now. Initially I had a pretty aweful breakout from the medicine. Now my skin has been good and i am just healing from the initial breakout. I have a lot of faith that this will clear up my skin. I have not gotten any new acne for the past couple days now and believe this will continue

Pros:

Saw results in 2 days, completely clear skin in about a week

Cons:

Caused a bit of drying
Put white spots of bed covers

I've been using Duac for about a week. My acne isn't horrible, but lately I've had a lot of spots around my chin and cheeks. It's very frustrating as I'm 25 and I haven't had skin like this for about a decade! Over the past few months I've wasted so much money on the products you can buy at the pharmacy and finally gave up and went to my GP. I paid the £3 NHS Scotland prescription charge and it has worked absolute wonders so far. My skin was clearer within 2 days of using this product and a week later, my skin only has the marks where my spots were. It did dry out my skin a bit, but nothing a good moisturiser won't fix. It warns that it can bleach fabrics and your hair, which is something to be careful of. I used old pillowcases but somehow managed to get some on my purple duvet cover. It's not noticeable though and I would still definitely recommend it.

Pros:

reduces size and redness of spots and clears them up in a couple of days
makes skin less greasy

Cons:

doesn't seem to prevent spots

I was prescribed duac by a dermatologist a couple of years ago and it works well at reducing the size and redness of spots - i notice the difference when i don't use it plus it makes my skin much less greasy .

Pros:

it's not a pill

Cons:

It cost me $40 copay and expires every 6 weeks. kind of expensive. So far not working

I need a little more time with it. Right now I apply the duac in the morning and Tazorac at night. So my skin is extra itchy. I have not noticed any difference in my skin. I was on Doxocyclin for 6 weeks but due to YI I had to stop taking it. The doxy clear up my skin pretty nice so hopefully the Duac & Tazorac will keep it clear. Otherwise it's Accutane.
