Pros:

Clears up some acne.

Cons:

It left my skin dry, made some pimples worse, was way to expensive for my budget.

It dried out my skin and didn't even work as well as most over the counter medication.

Pros:

Clears skin

Cons:

Extremely drying
Expensive (brand name)

This is the last benzoyl peroxide-containing product I tried. It was extremely drying to my sensitive skin, though it was effective on the difficult cysts. I continue to use a clindamycin topical which is less drying.

Pros:

Works the first couple of weeks. Doesn't dry out skin much. Lasts for months.

Cons:

Expires too quickly. You can only get it with a prescription. Leaves white stuff on your face. Only works for the first couple of weeks.

I hate this stuff. I used it and loved it at first, but then it just suddenly stopped working, but I tried to put up a fight anyway and continued to use it until I finally gave up. What I also hate is that when you use it, you'll wake up the next morning and the cream will be dried onto your face. Although it's been years since I last used it, and it might've improved, I still don't want to give it a second chance.

Pros:

The good thing about Benzaclin is that it cleared up my acne that I have had for fifteen years. This was the best thing that I have used. I have tried almost everything over the counter including proactive solution.

Cons:

This medicine that I got from the doctor was great, but I was getting symptoms of stomach cramps. One time I had to go home from work because the pain was too much.

Use the product if you really have to, only for a couple of week then stop. This is not a long term medicine. Remember that your acne will come back when you stop. Mine did. I still suffer from acne.

Didn't really help
Was prescribed this a couple of years ago. It dried out the spots but unfortunately also dried the skin so I had to stop using it.

Pros:

The first 2 days my face started clearing up nicely (it was a trick!)

Cons:

After the first two days my face broke out really bad and its now been 2 and 1/2 months and my face is worse than when I first started using this crappy stuff!

Others have had good things to say about it so maybe try it but if you're like me and have combo skin that breaks out in cysts that take FOREVER to clear then DO NOT get this!

Pros:

It controls blackheads which I've never really had a problem with.

Cons:

I've been using it for a month and it keeps the areas where your acne was very red and hard like it just pushes the pimple down and compacts it.

not worth the money. if you don't have insurance it's like $175

Pros:

Was alright at treating my acne. Not to impressed

Cons:

It cause me to become very sensitive to the sun. I break out in hives every time the sun hits my skin unless i take claratin, which I take everyday.

I may be an anomaly as far as the sun issue goes, but I have friends who have had the same problem. I'd go with something else.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

This product stung when I applied it, it completely dried out my face to the point of noticeable peeling, it actually stained my face red, and did not help my acne at all! It took 2 weeks or so after I stopped using it for my face's color to be back.

I have never had an acne medication that actually works and keeps working for me, until I started using Evoclin (which I use now). The duac completely dried my face, made my face peel a lot, stung my face, stained my face red (my face would be firetruck red even if I didn't apply the duac yet. From the side you could see where my pale neck met my red face. Yuck!). I don't think it even helped my acne, but I really couldn't tell because my face was so red. In conclusion, choose something else. It was literally painful and emotionally painful :/ P.S.-- If your derm. tries to tell you "The redness will go away after a few weeks! Trust me!" don't trust her/him. That's what mine said and a month later my face was still a giant cherry! Good luck! =D
