Pros:

- Non drying (within reason.) I found that using a moisturizer about a half hour after application for the first week or so helped my skin get used to Duac, and now I don't have to.
- Slowed rapidly re-appearing acne.
- Free, but so is everything because England is a don country.

Cons:

- Didn't do much...

Sorry to do this guys! No one likes a bad review. I do think this product has a bit going for it, it's fairly gentle and I'm sure for anyone with light acne it would work, but for me Duac really doesn't fit the bill. I hope this isn't premature, as I'm at about the 3 1/2 week stage, but I mean results are seriously lacking. I'll happily re-review if Duac is planning a sneaky clear skin surprise within the next few days, but honestly I think I'm going to have to swap product. I'm using this along side tetrcycline, but it's far to soon to see results from that. My skin is exactly the same as it was when I started use, with the exception that I have far fewer white heads but equally as many blemishes in general. In a nut shell, I have a lodda spots. My advice to anyone who was reading this, if they've just started using, or are intending to use duac wouldn't be to be put off. If your acne's light, give it a go because the fact that it's gentle means its going to do less long term damage to your skin... (No scientific knowledge behind that so I could be wrong, it just felt a logical assumption?) But if your acne is moderate or worse, try something else. To be totally honest, I'd probably not recommended it. But that's only because It's not worked for me. Good luck anyway :) x

I have used duac in the past in my teens in the middle of GCSEs, and it worked a treat. I then headed to univeristy it is my third year now and my skin has been awful! I was diagnosed with Lupus last year and the prednisolone is messing my skin up. So the doctor said to used duac again, as i ahvent been using it for 2 years. I have been on duac for 2 weeks. the first 2 days my skin was urning and dry also my eye lid did swell up. I have more breakouts than before and my big spots have turned to white heads i am not sure if thats how it works. So no improvement as such yet. I dont pick my spots so hopefully they will fade. does this how it works? you breakout first?

Pros:

Inexpensive with insurance

Cons:

Did not work, although did not necessarily make things worse.

I had high hopes based on the positive reviews and my dermatologists' testimony to me that he would "give this product to his son". however, i was thoroughly disappointing as it did nothing for acne, redness, etc. The combination treatment was a disappointment to me personally. I give it a 2 because it did not cause me an initial breakout nor did it help a thing.

Pros:

Cheap with insurance
Seemed to absorb well

Cons:

gave me a yeast infection after 2 days!
Can lead to bacterial resistance

I was super reluctant to use an antibiotic, as I am very sensitive to the way they screw with my internal flora balance. My dermo said that I should just use this for a few weeks to settle down my recent, out of the blue, flare up. After 2 days, I had yeast infections symptoms. That's not worth it for me. I read up on it, and it seems that even topical antibiotics are risky for digestive problems and candida. I am sticking to slower tea tree oil, clay masks, ACV, and finacea for red marks.

Pros:

I used the gel, so it was non-greasy. Did not smell and felt good on my face.

Cons:

Did not work as well as I would have liked. It made the size of the pimples smaller, but I still broke out.

Best for very light acne. If you have severe acne this may not work for you.

Pros:

it's not a pill

Cons:

It cost me $40 copay and expires every 6 weeks. kind of expensive. So far not working

I need a little more time with it. Right now I apply the duac in the morning and Tazorac at night. So my skin is extra itchy. I have not noticed any difference in my skin. I was on Doxocyclin for 6 weeks but due to YI I had to stop taking it. The doxy clear up my skin pretty nice so hopefully the Duac & Tazorac will keep it clear. Otherwise it's Accutane.

Pros:

Short term wonder. Clears up acne, skin is not oily or irritated.

Cons:

Toxic. Chemical damage to skin over time; skin becomes raw and discolored, destroys acid mantle protecting the skin from infection; antibiotic and BP absorb into body and can poison organs and beneficial bacteria, leading to systemic yeast infection

Probably better to deal with root causes of acne now instead of dealing with them plus additional, scarier health problems caused by Benzaclin later on when it stops working, which eventually it does. It stopped working for me after three years and for the friend of mine who was on it and we both got really bad acne after stopping, skin that was raw and unhealthy, and had systemic yeast infections.

Pros:

affordable with my insurance, get a lot of product

Cons:

made skin worse but never improved it, bleached fabrics

i used this product for three months. it made whiteheads and comedones out of all my pores (yes, ALL my pores! pores that NEVER broke out) but my skin never improved. one month after i stopped using it, i've seen no improvement. my skin has never looked so bad. use with caution.

Pros:

Appeared to work

Cons:

dried my skin, made my skin peel, made my skin bright red. Bleaches clothes. shelf life is short

It seemed to work the first time around, however after it just irritated my skin. Tried using it less often as doctor advised, tried using less each time. Made my skin hot and red and one day i had to take aloe vera to work with me to soothe my skin it was so bad
