Pros:

Ive been using Benzaclin for about a week now and im seeing results. It has totally cleared up my acne, but now all I have to deal with is inflammation or redness.

Cons:

Drys out my skin a LOT
Reduces redness...but only by covering it up with my dead skin.

Is clearing up my skin acne wise, redness wise it hasnt done anything but right now i am on ziana and solodyn. Really really drys out my skin. I have two options after using it, option A. Let it dry out my skin and not notice redness but see a snow storm on my face..or option B. put a moisturizer on afterwards and bring out the redness again. I don't like either one of these options but so far I have been using option B. because I HATE my skin being dry. Overall benzaclin is doing its job i guess.

Pros:

Prevents acne
Makes skin less oily
Heals pimples quickly
Works quickly

Cons:

Makes skin sensitive for first week
Makes skin dry
Burns at first

I used this when I was 16 or so with differin gel and had the clearest skin of my life. Consistent use is essential and the combination of benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin in duac works wonders. The key is consistency. You have to be rigorous with its use. It does dry the skin out and make it very sensitive and gives it a burning feeling for the first couple of weeks but you can feel that it's working. I noticed an improvement in a few days and had NO initial breakout.

Pros:

Improvement after a few days

Cons:

Drying Skin

I am 31 and have never had a problem with my skin. A few months ago I started with spots that were huge lumps under my skin all around my mouth and chin which would not go. I'd wear make up to cover the spots but the lumps just showed through. I went to my GP 4 days ago and he prescribed moderate acne and Duac Once Gel. I started using it once at night as prescribed and 3 days lated the lumps have subsided a little and I can tell my chin is smoother. I understand from reading forums that you have to keep using this gel otherwise the acne may come back. The only drawback of this cream is how much it has dried out my skin. REALLY BAD. I only applied the cream to my chin, and my skin is flaking and I look like a horror show. I went out the other night and put some foundation on my face. Within 10 minutes the make up was flaking off my face and I looked like a wall with paint peeling off. I have tried exfoliating which worked a little but the dryness does come back. Also, moisturisers didnt work as they just sunk into the dryness, I think its a small price to pay for these lumps to be subsiding, but do be aware it may dry/burn your skin.

Pros:

- Clear skin
- Been 2 months and still working
- Cleared in 2-3 weeks

Cons:

- Bit of drying (Not that bad)
- Occaisional pimple/blackhead but nothing to big

I'm 14. I've been on Eryacne, Differin and Doxycycline and this is BY FAR the best medicine I've used. I'd been affected by acne for about a year. Then my aunty recomended this product as her daughters had used it and it worked amazingly. I asked my doctor and he said to give it a try. I am happy about the way I look for the first time in 12 months.

Pros:

Only thing that can kinda sorta control my severe cystic acne that leaves terrible and long lasting scars.

Cons:

Made my face a bit dry but thats what moisturizer is for, and it fixed that.

For me I have like the worst acne of anyone in the world and it leaves scars that last for about 6 months(I know CRAZY).This is the only thing that has helped me a little. My acne was mild-moderate but then I took minocycline(prescription antibiotic) and it made my face look more like a pepperoni pizza than a clear face. It has never been the same. Tell me if you find something that actually works.(By the way, I tried Murad for one night and it made my face look EVEN WORSE PLEASE IF YOU LIKE A CLEAR FACE DO NOT DO MURAD IT WAS EXTREMELY RED AND BLOTCHY AND STILL IS IM LOCKED UP IN MY HOUSE I CANT GO ANYWHERE IT LOOKS SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Pros:

This is the only topical gel that works to clear out my moderate acne. I have been using it for over 2 years. After extended use, leaves skin soft, clear, and smooth. No more pustules. I'm not antisocial anymore. Duac saved me.

Cons:

Expensive. It used to cost me $50/month (a month's supply lasts me 6 weeks). Then I got it for $30 through Next Rx. It takes a while to kick in. You have to be patient and consistent. If your skin flares up, try putting on every other day first, then slowly increasing over time.

I recommend Duac gel to all of my friends. My brother uses it, I use it, and our acne cleared up. Nothing else seems to work. If you can't get Duac, try anything with benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin. That is the only combination that works on my skin. Check out my blog on this website, and you'll see how I tried DK's Regimen for 8 weeks and my later journey with Duac.

Pros:

*Clears acne

Cons:

*Drys out skin
*Makes your skin flake

I had bad acne in middle school. I used to get red bumps all on my chin and forehead. When I went to the dermatologist finally I was prescribed this along with retin-a-micro. It cleared my skin :) I no longer use this product anymore because it does not do anything for me anymore, but I have not had bad acne since. I highly recommend this. It does dry you out, but get a good moisturizer and you should be fine.

Pros:

It works on stubborn acne; reduces shine/oil

Cons:

Pretty harsh if you use too much; takes some getting used to in the beginning so apply lightly; can cause irritation and redness; be sure to apply moisturizer

I am 42 and had been suffering from stubborn acne on sides of face and forehead (small reddish pimples). I use this in the am and Retin A in the evening. The combination is working for me. Skin is now clear and has never looked better. I pay $3.00 a month and my insurance covers the rest so it is very cost effective.

Pros:

Can be worn under make-up, with a moisturizer.

Cons:

Doesn't really affect my acne.

For years, I've "worn" Duac underneath my make up because I did not want to put any make up directly on my skin. I put on an Obagi moisturizer, then Duac and then dab on a tinted moisturizer, so as to ensure that my skin does not dry out. Before my cystic acne set in, I was pimple-less for years and I swear it was the Duac! Now that I have cystic acne for some undiscovered reason, it does little, if anything to help my acne. I still prefer to use it because I don't like to put make up directly on my skin.
