For an occasional extra clean
I like my Clarisonic Plus for occasional cleansing at night before I use a topical overnight acne treatment. What I like about it is the mild exfoliating action inherent in using the device. I'm wary of using most physical exfoliants/scrubs if I have any active pimples (which is often), but the Clarisonic brush head doesn't irritate any existing acne nor cause any new pimples. On the other hand, I'm not sure that using the brush has made much of a dent in my breakouts, but it's hard to tell what product is doing what when I use more then one at the same time.

Great for thicker, oily skin
I bought the brush after hearing so many good things about it. I have acne-prone skin with breakouts and clogged pores and my skin is more of a combination type that can get too dry and flaky if I use harsh products. I had huge hopes for the brush! I started using it two times a week at first, then every other day just following the general guidelines. My skin felt really - really - clean after using the brush! But after using it would get really irritated and my sebum glands started producing really much oil. I thought, all right, I probably need the sensitive brush head. I bought that and tried again. Unfortunately it didn't help at all. Then I tried the cashmere brush head and it still gave my skin irritation and aggravated my acne even more! You would say, that I needed to clean the brushes better - no one has been more religious about cleansing the brush heads than I was! So, finally, I gave up. Clarisonic learned me that my skin is of a sensitive type and I need to treat it so gently as possible. Now I only use hands when cleansing my skin. I guess this brush would be a great exfoliating machine for those who don't have sensitive skin. Otherwise - not worth it!

Alright
I have been using this product for about one and a half years now and i have seen no improvement for my acne. However, it helps clear the skin although i recommend using a cleanser with this product so that you do not dry out your face. If you dry out your face your brain thinks it needs to produce more oil so use a moisturizer about once every day even if you have really oily skin. I use Cerave AM but that is kind of expensive but i'm sure other moisturizers would work with this product. Hope this helps:)

Severe acne
I have had pretty bad acne for 6 plus years and I am know in my 20's and still suffer from acne. For the past year it has been clearing up but recently I have had more hormonal acne that has flared up. I decided to get the clarisonic to see what it would do since I have literally tired everything over the sun ( antibiotics, birth control, topical treatments, proactive..etc!!). I have been using the clarisonic for 3 1/2 weeks now and I have broken out so bad! It is all over my forehead and cheeks. I heard about the purging period and I am hoping that it will end soon. The only mistake I have made is using it twice a day. I think using it twice a day has aggravated my skin more than it needs so I would suggest to anyone using it once a day or even less. I am giving it one more month in hopes of clear skin. I will update soon.

Pros:

-REALLY cleans deep down into pores
-whatever you put on after using it soaks into your skin a hell of a lot better
-fun and easy to use
-can be used with any type of cleanser
-completely waterproof
-rechargeable

Cons:

-leaves skin needing A LOT more moisture (for me at least)

For me, I have the very common oily/combination skin, so my T-zone is extremely oily all of the time and my cheeks are extremely dry. I also have the Clarisonic Mia (yes, there are 2 different types). My face decided to freak out on me after I started using this because it cleans so deeply down into the pores. So I started slapping on loads of moisturizer and it has gotten better. I also only use face wash (with no acne medications in it) and moisturizer, so I no longer put medications on my face just as an experiment. My recommendation to you: if you buy this, ease into using it (duh) and make sure that you follow your routine (whatever it may be) religiously. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN.

Pros:

-Leaves skin feeling extremely clean
-Noticeable reduction of blackheads
-Fun and easy to use
-Brush heads only have to be swapped out every 3 months
-Excellent for removing deep acne scarring
-Makes it easier for skin to absorb moisturizer, makeup, serums, or anything else that you put onto your face

Cons:

-As with most acne products, you have to ease into using it

I know that this says that I've only been using the Clarisonic (I have the Mia) for about a week, but I feel like I need to explain what has happened so far just in case you have just purchased and started using one. I have pretty moderate acne, and when I started using this, I noticed that it really does get my skin cleaner than just using facewash. My blackheads that used to literally cover my entire T-zone are virtually non-existent now, and the intense acne scarring that I have has gone down a little. If you are going to use it for getting rid of acne scarring along with whatever other reason, I would recommend using a good cleanser (i.e. Shiseido White Lucent) to use with the Clarisonic to help to get rid of scarring and age spots. If you have moderate acne like I do, I would definitely recommend using it once a day and then progressively moving towards twice a day (if you need to). Also, don't make the mistake that I did and use it for longer than a minute...that caused me to break out, not horribly, but enough to stress me out. And because the Clarisonic is technically an exfoliator, USE MOISTURIZER. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

Pros:

- cleanses skin
- leaves skin smooth
- gets rid of dead skin

Cons:

- can irritate the skin
- leave the skin raw if used too much
- can make acne worse

I've been using the clarisonic for about a year, and for the first few months (1-4) it was working pretty well. It actually cleared up my skin (along with Murad Acne Complex) about an additional 15%.It made my skin smooth, got rid of dead skin, and worked great as a facial scrub. Then for the next 3 to 4 months I didn't see any more improvement. Afterwards (and up til now) my acne has been getting worse and I have horrible black marks (I can't necessarily call them scars because sometimes they heal and go away after a few months). I used to use it twice a day along with Murad and after the worsening acne I brought it down to once per day, and now I don't use it at all. At first once I stopped I was afraid of getting cystic acne (like I have when I tried to stop using in the past), but thankfully I haven't. I've also been using Murad for about 2 years but have seen no significant improvement in the past year. The first year I saw about a 40% improvement (but as the same with the clarisonic) the past year has done nothing for me. Now I'm thinking about starting on Cetaphil, Black soap, or go back to Proactive (which I last used 6 yrs ago). Long story short, I would use this product MAX once every other day and only as a scrub or for micro-dermabrasion. DO NOT use this everyday. I've actually spoke with an aesthetician, who said it was too abrasive. Many would say that your skin would have to "purge first", but after 4-6 months of "purging" I personally had to say enough. Please do not use this everyday, it will cause too much irritation and for those with oily skin, it will make the oil increase because your skin is trying to make up for it. - Based on past experiences - I only have black and white heads (but in a horrible amount) & some acne marks. - Oily/ Combination skin - Used Clarisonic for 1 year Summary: - Use it sparingly (no more than once every other day). - Use it as a scrub, but not along with your usual and

Pros:

feels really nice on skin

Cons:

expensive
doesn't really work

Didn't break me out but it didn't prevent breakouts either. I used it for a year and discontinued using it for about another year and my skin is fine with just using regular cleanser without the clarisonic. Would not necessary recommend it.

Pros:

Helps if used consistantly

Cons:

Price

I have used this product for about a month. I am 17 and have had stubborn acne that wouldnt go away since i was about 11. I have tried everything. I was hoping this would change that. When i use it every night and morning i see a diffrence.. but if not used consistantly, you wont see results. I did have some intial purging. Due to the extreme exfoliation, scabs are so slow to heal. If you pick at your face and get scabs, this will make the scabs and stuff take longer to heal.

Pros:

You can feel the cleanser really doing its job, and after you use the clarisonic your face feels baby skin soft.

Cons:

Crazy Breakout!
Price

I am only in my second week of using the clarisonic. Last week, my skin looked great, better than it has in the past three years. Now, though, since two nights ago, I washed my face like I have been usually for one minute and gentle...and when I woke up the next morning, my face was tomato-red. It felt and looked like I left Nair on my face for way too long. I thought I was scrubbing too hard, but when I looked at my skin closely I could tell that I am going through the purge part of this. It is disgusting! Thankfully the redness has gone down, but I've been reading a lot of reviews and a lot of you have said that the breakouts never go away. I really hope that this is just a phase and that from here on out, my skin will get better like it was in the first week!
