Pros:

I heard about using baking soda on zits. So I figured why not give it a try.

AMAZINGGG! I saw a difference within two dayss! Its been two days and I already see zits gone from my shoulders and wayy smaller and almost gone from my face.

Cons:

Its burns/stings and doesnt stop until you wash it ALL of. I generally have a high pain tolerance and I jus wanted my zits to be gone so I just bit the bullet and delt with it. Trust me the stinging is WELL WORTH the results!

Gently massage into your problemed areas. I used wet washcloth and added a couple pinches of baking soda to it...dont water it down too much or it will just dissovle and not work. I know some of you like to leave it on over night, Im sure this would work ok on some, but I think it might try my skin out wayy to much and cause more damage then help. Id say dont leave it on longer then 10-15 min. Dont be alarmed with the stinging, its all worth it trust me. If you are like and are fustrating with ruthless pimples, DEFINITLY give this a try. I used arm and hammer baking soda which is like super cheap from the local grocery store..idk how much $ exactly. Also seems to get rid of zits fast. So if you have an upcoming event and you need speedy results, reach for the baking soda! I love it..Im so glad I know about it.

Pros:

ok exfoliator

Cons:

stinging, burning, itching, and my acne got worse: I believe this is too harsh with active acne/sensitive skin. It may be great for very mild acne/oily skin. My skin is too dry already but still has moderate acne.

I won't use it again.

Could have just been your skin type reacting to this method. May not have the same effect as it does on your skin on others.

Making a smooth baking soda cream
baking soda helps dry acne out. The skin pulls enormously which means it is very effective. But results come only after one week. Not just for pimples but also for painful boils on the face. Baking soda dissolves in water. To make a baking soda cream for acne, grate a bit of bathing soap into a metal container. Add some water to melt it on the stove. Meanwhile add a strong dose of baking soda in a hot cup of water. Stir until dissolved, then add this water to the melted soap. It will rise, so take it away from the fire and keep stirring. When warm, add some essential oil to it, stir well and pour into a vaseline jar. After a while the baking soda soap mixture will become solid and creamy. Rub on the pimples and boils on the face and you do not need to wash it off. The skin pulls helping pimples and boils to dry. But due to its strong effect, the need will rise to wash your face. After the wash, it feels like it is still working. Use a favorite oil to massage your face as the baking soda soap cream keeps working unfailingly. It is my experiment. Boils come one after another on my face. I needed something strong and not grainy. So making a grainless cream from baking soda is worthwhile. Now it is just the wait to see how my experiment works. Nah.
Have tried this a few times over the years. It's cheap so maybe it's worth trying for you but my skin didn't respond to it at all, by any method of application, except just getting a little pink. If my skin is itchy for some reason I'll soak in a tub with some baking soda and epsom salts but it never helped my acne. The only reason I'd recommend it is because it does help with my itchy legs when I throw some in a bath, so I'm sure there are possibly benefits with other skin issues, and it's probably in your kitchen somewhere already and you don't have anything to lose.

Baking Soda and Castor Oil
I put a mixture of Baking Soda and Castor Oil on my face to get rid of mole. Now my face is very dry and rough looking. It's working but also causing my skin to peel and blotch a lot. Can anyone tell me what I can use to get smooth skin again?

You might be doing it too frequently. Baking soda works marvelously when I use it in moderation. But when I am anxious about something and become obsessive, trying to make myself feel better by exfoliating soon after a previous treatment I get breakouts. We are tearing some layers of the skin when we do this. exfoliating one time or twice a week is good. Any more than that and the skin might have an adverse reaction. Hope this helped. Oh yeah, right now mys skin is almost perfect.

Heyy guys!!!lol My first review so I hope yall like it. I actually was googling baking soda uses and found this site, so I decided to try it and join this site just to join in! I read some reviews and people said that it made their skin smooth and faded their dark spots but I didnt believe them. Let me tell you, my skin was BABY SOFT! It felt sooo smooth I couldnt believe it. Your face will defitnitly feel clean! As far as the dark spots, I can't really tell because this is my 2nd day using it. But I hope to continue to use it, not sure if we can edit and update our posts but I think yall should try it, especially because its soo cheap! My regimen is as follows. I wash my face in the morning with Ambi complexion soap, then I use my Benzoyl Peroxide 10% solution, then I use the baking soda to finish. I moisturize with Aveeno Salycic Acid Moisturizer. At night time, after washing away my makeup, I use the Ambi soap again, then I use my St. Ives Apricot Scrub, then use the baking soda again, then I put Vitamin E oil on my face and add a bit of cocoa butter. also a lot of people said that their pores were smaller after using it, I didnt see that, my pores are huge and this didnt help. Like I said this is only my 2nd day, so who knows whats to come. Also, please remember to rinse well, my first time, I didnt rinse well and there was a white line on my face. Baking soda makes your skin very dry so please remember to moisturize immediatly after. I have dry skin, so its ok to use this if u have sensitive skin or eczema, just moisturize! :)

Pros:

Clear Skin, soft, blackheads started to dissipate quickly, reduction in oil and pimples.

Cons:

Stings a little but what acne treatment doesn't?

It is so amazing! I steam my face, adding in a few green tea leaves, then use the baking soda (that way it can get into the opened pores and break it up, then close them.) then I rinse it off, rinse with cold water, then I apply a honey mask for 15 minutes after that...it takes me 30 minutes to do all of this but if you do it once a week I promise your skin will do amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
