Pros:

Smooth skin, refreshed look and whiteheads are going away fast. CHEAP, so cheap take-out costs many times more

Cons:

doesn't seem to be working for my deep painful cystic acne

It just may work for you! Use sensitive skin astringent after rinsing off baking soda paste so that pores are cleaned. Baking soda does not disinfect by the way, it is just an exfolliant. A tip for you guys also...throw away your shampoo. We all bathe in hot water and our pores get opened up. The shampoo lather w/ oils, dirt, bacteria get into your pores and ta-da breakouts. I use dettol soap or u can do research and find a shampoo that would not clog your pores or perhaps you use your acne cleanser hehe. And guys rinse your hair so that the nastiness flows down the back of your head, like what a gal would do. i wish dan would give us an option to view the top rated products on the website...so that others would agree to the effectiveness of baking soda.

Pros:

It didn't burn (for me), it got rid of most of my acne, it's cheap.

Cons:

I've heard it burns for other people, my acne wasn't completely demolished.

I seriously recommend this to everyone who gets acne. This was a miracle for me. And DO NOT QUIT USING THIS PRODUCT UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AFTER USE! It is rare for a product to work miracles on your skin after only a few days. Give it some time. I didn't start seeing serious results until two weeks into using it. Now, I only have a few pimples left before my skin becomes acne free.

Pros:

Leaves skin feeling soft, draws out blackheads.

Cons:

stings a little, dries skin.

I create a paste, apply to the face for 15 mins, wash off with cold water, this leaves my skin extremely soft but does dry your skin so use a moisturiser i use vaseline intesive moisture treatment. It also draws the blackheads out, after washing the paste off i can see that all my blackheads have come out, wich i then just use a towel and gently wipe them off. i have used twice now and have had no major pimple outbreaks, so far so good!!

Pros:

You probably have it in your kitchen, very cheap, easy to use, no added chemicals, very safe to use, has a million uses.

Cons:

It may burn a little if you have sensitive skin.

On Monday morning, I woke up with a T-zone whitehead attack. My entire forehead, my nose, my chin, and my temples were absolutely riddled with whiteheads. There were hundreds upon hundreds of them. My face looked like a sheet of Braille. It was absolutely horrifying. And I'm African-American with dark skin, so I was very worried about hyperpigmentation. Before bed Monday night, I rinsed my face with warm water to open up my pores. Then I applied a mask consisting of baking soda and water. I let the mask dry (about 10 minutes) and then rinsed it off. I followed up with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. I followed this routine every night. Now it's Saturday morning, and the whiteheads are 96% gone. There are just a few tiny ones here and there. The baking soda mask is a lifesaver and works brilliantly, especially for mild (non-cystic) acne. It's the only thing that works for me. THE ONLY THING. And I don't even have any hyperpigmentation! YAY!

Pros:

My skin is very sensitive and oily and I'm prone to break outs. My skin has never felt better than after using the baking soda face mask. I'm throwing out all my overpriced ance creams

Cons:

It does burn for a few seconds and is flaky when it starts to dry.

Use the baking soda and you won't be sorry. I'm 30 years old and have tried everything you can imagine since I was 15 years old. I gave it a try after reading the reviews on here, and I won't go back to anything else. My skin looks the best it has it years!

Pros:

dries up pimples faster than just leaving them alone, deeply cleans your face, helps prevent new breakouts, your skin feels fresh and it glows after you rinse it off.

Cons:

The first day or two, it will burn a bit and make your skin red, but once your skin adjusts, this won't happen anymore.

I've tried so many different products to try to clear up my acne after I could no longer afford to be on Retin-A. Nothing has worked better than a mask of baking soda and water applied to my face twice a day. I wash my face, then apply this mask morning and night, leave it on until it dries, and then I rinse it off, following up with an oil-free moisturizer. After 2 days of using the product, my skin no longer burned when I put it on, and the redness went away. It shrinks down my pimples (even the cystic ones) faster than if I were to just leave them be, and now that I've been on it for about 2 months, I find that I get far less pimples, (even cysts!) Occasionally, I'll get a bad hormonal breakout, but they're only half as bad as they used to be when I wasn't on baking soda. This stuff totally rocks, I recommend it 100%. You'll never find anything more effective that's so cheap!

Pros:

this is a miracle product, i swear. it unclogged my pores, it's VERY inexpensive, and it treated a lot of my acne that even proactiv couldn't treat. i've used this everyday for just one week and i already saw a visible difference within 3 days.

Cons:

it burns, but what's a little burn for a clear face [:

this stuff is amazing. you seriously shouldn't hesistate to try this. my face is uber uber sensetive and breaks out when i put ANYTHING on it. at first, i was scared that it might make my skin worse, but it's made it so much softer and so much smoother. deff worth a try!

Pros:

It definitely leaves you with softer and smoother skin and lightens acne scars. It also seems to work great as an alternative to an acne face wash. VERY inexpensive.

Cons:

Burning sensation.

Can be messy.

Everyone must give this a try since it's so cheap and readily available. Just go to the supermarket, buy some Arm & Hammer for $2, and mix it with just enough water to make it a little bit pastey. Just experiment with it. I've done this for over a week now every evening, leaving it on my face for about 15 minutes and it really does make a difference. I have also been taking zinc daily and I do Dan's acne regime and I've finally gotten totally clear. I'm going to stick to this and see which of the three I can drop, although it is really nice to finally be acne free so maybe I shouldn't be messing with it.

Pros:

-Noticably smoother & clearer skin.
-Reduces any oils right away
-Gives skin a clean feeling

Cons:

-Burning effect
-Redness after depending on skin type
-Mask flakes off after drying

I mix baking soda, water, & hydrogen peroxid into something as pastey as I can get. I left it on until it flaked. It worked pretty well for me. My skin feels great, but it can be somewhat red & the burning during the process made me think I would be very sensitive. It all goes away though & your skin will look the desired way you want it. It's great for blackheads also. They look much smaller after using this.
