Pros:

Post pregnancy hormones left my skin a MESS. I experienced acne like I did in my teens. Tried everything including prescription from the dermatologist. BAKING SODA IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS. Make a paste in your palm and wash face and neck.

Cons:

None.

It's inexpensive and effective, not to mention SAFE. The prescription I was using contained antibiotic ointment mixed with benzoyl peroxide. It bleached everything I came in contact with and caused my skin to peel. Leave it to the FDA to approve this garbage. My morning / evening routine: Wash face as I normally would...I use Arbonne products. Follow by making a 3:1 paste of baking soda and water, in the palm of my left hand. Apply to face and neck using right hand. Let dry on face for 5 min. Wet hands with warm water and massage in circular motion. Rinse well. My skin cleared after 3 days...continues to be clear except the occasional blemish. I will keep baking soda in my medicine cabinet until the day I die.

Pros:

It works really well! I love it. I'm going into highschool in a week, and I'm so glad I've found this! It's easy to use, really cheap, and works great! Everything on my face is clearing up, espescially my forehead! I LOVE it!

Just make sure you use it right: 1. mix baking soda with enough water to just make a paste. 2. ONLY use as a wash, not a mask, or it will dry out your face and leave it peeling, blotchy and red. 3. make sure you use a good moisturizer after! This is the most important, because you don't want to dry out your face. I recommend you use this once a day, only at night, after washing your face with a facial cleanser. I've used so many different store bought products, and none work. Please try this using the directions above; if you do, your face will not be harmed, so you have nothing to loose except your acne! Just make sure to use as a paste ONLY, NEVER DRY BAKING SODA! And use a moisturizer after, preferably one that doesn't clog pores, like an Aveeno product. I use both moisturizer and cleanser from Aveeno.

Pros:

Cheap, easy to use.

Cons:

Immediately regretted using it.

It might work for some people, but it was a bad experience for me. I tried it on a small area and it is still burning long after I washed it off. No thank you!

Pros:

It clears up your acne pretty fast and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Cons:

If you have sensitive skin like me, it will sting/burn a little, but you'll get used to it.

This actually does work on my skin and it's so cheap and easy to use. I usually use about 2 spoons of baking soda with like maybe a small bottle-cap full of water and mix it in until it becomes a paste. Then I apply it onto my skin with a Q-Tip and wait for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off gently with a soft cloth and warm water. At first, it may seem the redness has increased, but after some time, they'll go down. Afterwards, you can cleanse your skin like you always do, but this way of treating acne is much more useful then some brand-name products I've used.

Pros:

Initially leaves skin very smooth,
Reduces whiteheads
Very cheap and lasts a long time

Cons:

Clears minor acne fast but effect is not long lasting, which requires regular use, which burns skin if it is sensitive.

Whiteheads, some blackheads were cleared, but not cystic acne. Thus, I had to continue use of BP, which meant my skin was still sensitive. The frequent use of Baking Soda then left my skin very painful and tight, so when I stopped using it, oil production and whiteheads came back with a vengeance. Using it less frequently is also not an option, as the results are not noticable. So I would recommend using this only if your acne is minor and your skin is not too sensitive. Use it about once or twice a week only too.

Pros:

Gentle,affordable and natural

Cons:

--

I have tried EVERYTHING including different prescription pills, creams, gels, face washes, special soaps and NOTHING has worked as well as using a baking soda paste on my face every morning and before I go to bed at night. My skin has cleared up more in 2 days than it ever has with anything else. I rub in on and work it into my skin for a few seconds and rinse it off right away. Face feels smooth and soft!

Pros:

It works to exfoliate & soften
It is really cheap
Natural-no harsh chemicals

Cons:

None I can think of

Baking soda is great to exfoliate n soften your skin. I feel like it helps to keep my acne away and helps it heal faster when I do get breakouts. You can make a paste with peroxide or vinegar to deep clean your pores- I wouldn't do it every day tho-every other day or a few times a week is best for me.

Pros:

Clears skin very well and sucks oils out of pores to create cleaner skin.

Cons:

Powder can get everywhere when it is drying.

This is the best thing for those big zits or spots that you want to go away before they start, or if they are just growing. It is definitly better than benzol peroxide because that drys out your face. And it is better than salytic acid, because all that does is burn away thin layers of skin on your face sometimes making zits worse. Baking soda is whats up.

Pros:

None

Cons:

My face turned beet red

I'm stuck in my room right now cause I don't want anyone to see my face. I am trying to make the redness go away by putting a cold washcloth on my face. Beware to those with sensitive skin. :(

I think everyone should try baking soda.. First, mis baking soda with water then rub it on your face... after 3 minutes or 2, wash your face.. Me I use lemon juice after using it and it works great!! No more breakouts for me.... even my pores get smaller..
