Pros:

smaller pores, acne gone! healthy glowing skin. Very inexpensive. Also works as a good hair cleanser and teeth whitener.

Cons:

Had a really bad breakout when I first started using it. My advice don"t pick at it if this happens. Good thing is my scars from that breakout were gone in just a few weeks and all old scars are completely gone. skin looks great!

I have been researching many different types of natural remedies for acne on my self for about a year now. I have mild to moderate acne and I'm in my late 20's. I was just so frustrated! After trying many things I found that this works the best for me. I put a small amount in my hand after I wash my face and gently massage my face with it for a few seconds. I do this always in the morning and sometimes at night depending on how active I have been that day I live in humid climate so if you live in a dry climate two time a day might be over drying. After I wash my face I use a oil free moisturize'.... This has really worked for me but it's not the only thing I am doing. I have combined many different things and ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPED OVERNIGHT, so please be patient. Many people have acne because of multiple imbalances in their body and our bodies take time to heal. Here are some of the other things I am doing to fight my acne. I don't have enough space to type all of this so my advice is to Google all of these and their health benefits. All organic produce. Less sugar and white carbs. Probiotics: Your tummy is much more important than you might think. LOOK this up. :) A lot of vegis! Salomon (not farm raised). 2 liters of h2o a day. Very important and don't worry you will eventually stop peeing so much. Cosmetics: Avalon Organics Vitamin C products. I love the rejuvenating oil free moisturizer. (Organic) :) Also check out a site called [link removed] Your skin is a mirror of what is going on inside your body so be kind to it. I hope that something on hear helps you. Good luck.

Pros:

Works fast
Does its job
Is plain amazing

Cons:

None at all.

I used this after seeing it on the internet and i made it up twice in one night the first time i didnt have much baking soda so i rinsed my face and made it up again. The second time I made it with more baking soda it felt much better on my face. I have very very sensative skin so to have nothing more than a light sting that most people are talking about its amazing. If you do try this and feel the stink dont worry at all. Many people think the sting is bad but from using countless things to try and clear my face and feel the sting everytime all that is doing is telling you that your face is clearing up. After the first time i almost never feel the sting again. But after ten minutes i went in and looked in the mirror and seeing the couple i had be close to gone is like amazing i reccomend this for any and everyone with or with out sensative skin.

Pros:

Makes pimples less red!
Kills acne bacteria!

Cons:

Doesn't destroy acne off your face immediately!

I use this in a mask form about 1-2 times a day and leave it on until I get bored of having it on. Usually varies between 10-40 minutes. I've been doing this for about 5 days now. I have seen no negative changes in my skin except that the acne is going away. On the white heads after I wash the mask off the white heads are soooo sensitive that they just pop instantly if I roll my finger over it, which I think is due to it destroying the bacteria inside. My acne seems to be going away and it's less red. I Love this mask!

Pros:

Great exfoliater. It really does work better than acne products.

Dirt cheap.

Works relatively quick in getting rid of red marks.

Cons:

Stings your face the first few times you use it. (Don't wash it off right away. Leave it on for up to 5--10 minutes then rinse in the shower.

Using this every other day for a couple of weeks, my red marks that seemed like they were taking forever to go away finally were fading. I swear to God this is the only thing that has been an effective treatment for post-acne red marks. Please try this out! You will not regret it. It's the secret that the big acne product companies don't want you to know about.

Time to heal.
Cystic acne nonstop since i was 15. Face scarred badly, but cysts and zits stopped with diet and NO MORE CLEANSERS. Caveman is the way to go. Sometimes even washing with water will upset my skin, so I just dont wash it at all anymore. Like other say, you do build up excess skin, so a wet soft washcloth will do fine. I don't moisturize or apply anything to my face or body at all. I also only wash my body and hair with water, soap and shampoo twice a week. You won't smell if you're eating healthy. I feel that high cardio workouts also work to exfoliate my skin. When I feel too dirty, I run up a hot shower and let my pores open up with all the steam ( I do not let the water touch my face, as it is so sensitive, even the chlorine upsets it) I do stress that your DIET will determine your success. I have always had overeating problems as well, so when i indulge, I break out, still at 26. FOODS TO AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ------------- SUGAR -------------- keep in mind that simple carbs ( white bread rice pasta cereal etc) turn into sugar in the body, so you must cut those out too. Complex carbs ( beans, brown rice, pasta, bread is not great, but not as bad as the white stuff) just make sure it says WHOLE wheat. I've had the best skin of my life eating WHOLE food without red meat. Chicken and fish, whole veggies and ABSOLUTELY NO SUGAR and MINIMAL SODIUM intake (sodium increases redness and inflammation in the body... especially your face). Side note... chemical manufacturers are not looking out for you... Living in capitalist America should be your first clue... These people just want your money and will exploit your biggest insecurities. They want you to slap harmful chemicals on your face, clog your pores with makeup, eat yourself into a blimp, because they know the body will expunge it all through your sweat and zits, then you'll go running to them because they offer "cures". ?Me and many more fell for their tricks and paid dearly for the lack of knowledge, with scars. Do yourself a favor and feed your body well, treat it well, encourage it, work it out, and love it. Change your habits and drop negative people around you so you can begin to HEAL. I am still battling food cravings, still giving in, still breaking out occasionally, but it feels amazing to know that I can be free of this curse. Hope you try this, and spread it to everyone in need. Good luck.

Hello, you could try adding a water filter to either all the water in your house or to just your shower unit.

Pros:

-An amazing exfoliant and softener. Like nothing else I've used.
-CHEAP, nontoxic, and safe

Cons:

-Will irritate if left on too long
-Will upset pH if not followed with an acidic toner or other treatment
-Can be messy (see my advice for a nifty dispenser)

I use baking soda every morning and night to exfoliate and cleanse my face.It made my face soft, smooth, and supple. So great! It's important to use it gently and never leave it on long enough to cause irritation. In order to use it without mess (never try to use it from the box. Pouring is messy, the box gets soggy if wet, etc.) do the following: --Buy an empty spice container (the sort you'd get in a bulk foods aisle--I found a nice glass one at the health food store) --Fill it with baking soda. Ditch the box. --To use, first wet face. Using your nifty dispenser, sprinkle a tablespoon or so of the baking soda into one hand, then use your other hand to drip some water on the stuff until it looks like a paste (you'll get the hang of the ratios pretty quickly) --Rub hands together, gently apply to face. --How long you leave it on is a personal choice--definitely start with shorter times. --After using it, make sure to follow with something acidic (e.g., apple cider vinegar diluted with 50-70% water) to restore pH.

Pros:

*Makes skin baby soft
*SOO cheap

Cons:

*I overused it and it gave me a disgusting red rash with pimply lumps in it, but it went away shortly.

With proper use, this is a great product. Just be careful to mix with copious amounts of water and rinse off thoroughly, moisturizing afterwords.

Pros:

Cheap, good general cleanser especially on oily skin, brightens complexion, natural

Cons:

can be drying

I think baking soda is a good general cleanser for oily skin. I just wet my face and use a little bit kind of like a gentle scrub maybe a few times a week. I have very oily skin, but if I use too much or leave it on too long, it can still over dry my skin. The main pro of baking soda is that it's extremely cheap, but can be just as effective as more expensive cleansers with all sorts of ingredients and chemicals in them.

DO NOT USE BAKING SODA ON YOUR FACE! FAR TOO ALKALINE!

Cons:

Causes Breakouts
Destroys Acid Mantle
Extremely Alkaline (upsets skin's PH balance)

I am horrified to see the amount of people who actually use this on their face. Your skin has a natural acid mantle which helps it fight breakouts and using an alkaline substance like baking soda will completely destroy that by throwing the PH right off. No competent skin care professional would ever recommend putting this on your face, but if you are going to anyway, make sure you lower the PH of your skin with an acidic toner after like ACV.

Pros:

Makes skin really soft
reduced number of pimples
makes skin less oily

Cons:

At first stings a little bit.

So my skin started to get progressively worse and I started buying everything. First drugstore, but then I ordered expensive cleansing systems and either way, none of them worked well. I ordered a Murad kit and after a few days I had more and more pimples and dry patches all over my face. So one morning i was looking at this website trying to figure out what to do. I saw the baking soda and saw how people said it did wonders for their skin. I made a paste out of it, and used it as a scrub with my morning shower. At first it stung a tiny bit but nothing major at all. It has been 3 days, and I practically have one zit compared to the 10 previously. And that zit is almost gone. I use it at morning in my shower as a scrub, but at night I only use it as a spot treatment. And the results are so much better then I could have imagined. The best part is that my skin never gets oily like it used to during the day. Great product, i really recommend.
