Use a pH balance toner
After using baking soda as a exfoliate I use a toner to balance back my skin
January 7, 2014
love it
Cons:
stings a bit
I use it as a scrub, just mix it with a bit of water. I have tried to do a mask but it makes my skin burn. However, the burning is gone after I wash it off and it doesn't make my face red or anything. Aside from a bit of stinging, all I have noticed are great results. My face feels so smooth after I use it, and the blackheads that were all over my nose are disappearing. Yay! :-)

A very gentle exfoliator
Pros:
Gentler than most other exfoliators
Exfoliation is an essential part of skincare :)
I keep a small tub of dry baking soda next to my shower. Near the end of my shower, I scoop some up, mix it with a little water, gently rub on, then rinse. I use it daily, in combination with drugstore cleanser. Exfoliation is very important to clear excess dead skin. Baking soda is also helpful when you have something like sweat, sunscreen, or food grease on your face. Just make sure to follow every exfoliation with moisturizer, or your skin could become too dry.

this stuff is fantastic!
i mixed some baking soda with a bit of water until it was paste like, put it on my face as a mask and then gently scrubbed off after 10 minutes. results were amazing after the first use..my skin was noticeably clearer!

Pros:
-soft skin
-closes pores
-clears acne
Cons:
-drying
-stings
I have used this for about a week but I already have gotten results. I have softer skin and smaller pores. I use it when I get a pimple and it reduces it right away! Both my cousin and I have used it and our skin feels and looks good. It does not work the same for everyone.

Pros:
Cheap, natural, no chemicals easy to use/purchase
Cons:
can irritate skin if not diluted enough (exfoliant) or rinsed properly
Natural! Love baking soda & started using it on my face, in my bath, rinsing body & hair after showers & in my laundry. Really has no adverse effect on my skin & I have totally forgone commercial soap for baking soda. Leaves me feeling clean and fresh. Clears up acne, exfoliates dead skin (abbraisive, so rub lightly...dilute more at the beginning and work your way up to more abbraisive feel if desired)
My skin looks and feels 20 years younger! (I'm in my early 50's)... Bakin soda is slightly caustic, so it will irritate the skin. Being an alkalai, it regulates your skin pH and makes it unhospitable for bacteria that would otherwise thrive and cause nasty body odour. For those who need to use very expensive or prescription deodorants, try baking soda and see if it doen't help there, too!

Pros:
cleared up my skin!
no harmful chemicals
good exfoliator
Cons:
do not rub vigrously coz it can be quite abrasive.
I thought its time to give back ,after weeks of searching and trying about every listed natural remedy(totally against any kind of antibiotcs, which worsened my skin from light to moderate acne).I realized my acne was mainly due to pH imbalance.baking soda(mixed with a little H20 to form a paste,n applied gently on entire face for abt 2min) ,wash with water followed by diluted vinegar(50:50..applied after washing face with a cotton ball, once or twice a day) ,turned out to be my saviour.Have been using them for about 3 months now and my skin is doing gr8!.,its almost clear compared to what it was in jan(pizza face).I still tend to get one or two (major) pimples in a month..apart frm tht a few non inflamed comedones(minor ones)..i still have some dark spots left from previous pimples.wch will clear in a month or so..apart from that im good to go:)..do try it.it might help if ur acne is coz of pH imbalance.u can try drinking half a lemon squeezed in lukewarm water(half a cup) after breakfast n dinner,it helped me a gr8 deal!.

A cheap gentle exfoliating treatment
Pros:
Affordable
Lasts a long time
I use this once or twice a week in the mornings to exfoliate. Using BP every day causes flaky skin, and this is much, much gentler than other scrubs I've made or bought (sugar scrubs, salt scrubs, apricot scrubs are all too harsh for acne skin). The key is to be very gentle and mix the baking soda in to a watery paste and rub it around on your face for ~1min and rinse. I haven't used it to clear acne, but in combination with my current regimen (desert essence thoroughly clean face wash, acne.org BP treatment, acne.org moisturizer, Clinique's acne solutions makeup) it doesn't cause irritation and breakouts like other scrubs.

Pros:
*Really works
*Shrinks acne over night
*Inexpensive
*Feels great
Cons:
*A bit drying but so worth it
I am allergic to most acne medications. I tried equal amounts of baking soda and fine ground salt mixed with either a small amount of water or peroxide. I use it every other day and it's amazing! I love it and it works better than anything I have tried, I have had no ill side affects either.

Pros:
Cheap
Easily available
Cons:
A bit messy
Absolutely worth it! Even though my acne was not terrible, I was looking for something economical and homeopathic to use to improve the dry skin on my nose, and make my skin softer. Since I'm 38, I don't have pristine skin, but this makes me look younger, and my skin is so soft. I scrub morning and night with baking soda. About 3-4 times a week, I apply a baking soda mask and leave it until it dries then rinse with warm water. I always follow it with vinegar (just a bit on a cotton ball), and swab my face with it. Yes, its smelly, but it works. Then I slather on some face cream/lotion. It's worked wonders for me!!
Acne.org Products
Pros:
cheap
leaves skin smooth
natural
