Pros:

Change starts quickly...

Cons:

Unfortunately, it's bad change! Yes this is the same Barely Any Acne as on 1/8/07... I have 2 big bumps, & also a painful pimple trying to surface on my nose... I never had them this big or painful. I've stopped using Proactiv and going back to OTC

I have always used an OTC gentle, no-alcohol cleanser, but I only used a moisturizer with SPF15 if I was putting make up on. I will continue to use my OTC cleanser, but will purchase BP and an everyday moisturizer, too. Once again, if you just get a minor whitehead or cyclical pimples, leave Proactiv ALONE. Although I didn't mind the price, I realize I can get 5-6 OTC products for the 3 Proactiv sends.

Pros:

Reduces breakouts. Got rid of the whiteheads on my forehead that I was prone to getting.

Cons:

-Expensive.
-Skin will get worse before it gets better. (Need to keep at it.)
-Doesn't eliminate breakouts (but does reduce frequency and extent).

Watched the commercials, expected a miracle... silly me. But the pimples are now at least under control. I found the cleanser too mild, so I alternate with the Deep Cleansing Wash for my face. The toner doesn't do much for me. Repairing lotion is good at prevention, but if a pimple starts, it's not great at speeding up the process. No problems using any of the products. The drying effects of the products are fine with my skin. Fairly good results. P.S. One niece had bad acne, used it with amazing results. Another niece used it, it worked well for her, but she says it lost its effectiveness after a couple of years, and she doesn't use it anymore.

Pros:

Well, shipping is quick.

Cons:

Off size bottles, and ohh, the leather face.

I am 24 and for the most part the majority of my skin is not too bad. I do however get large, red, welt-like ZITS on either sides of my chin as well as the occational off site breakouts. I, "like many others" was suducced by this miracle in a bottle. I have naturaly dry skin and proactiv seems to tear it to shreds. I have only been using it for a few weeks but the dry, flakey, peeling of my skin is realy bringin' me down. I am going to stick with it becuse the welts are smaller and less red, altho much more painfull. I am hoping my face will feel like skin agian and not like a saddle forever. I am also concerned about the arival of some scary looking wrinkles that seem to be taking up residency under my eyes. I chose this course of action beacuse most doctors I have seen will not perscribe me anything without trying the "natural acne cure" BIRTH CONTROL. Whats that about?? Don't do it man! See a dematologist if you can...

Pros:

Did help reduce the oily feeling on my skin that usually starts about 3 hours after washing my face.

Cons:

Didn't really reduce pimples, did nothing for blackheads, and if I used too much repairing lotion, I would get spots of very rough, very dry skin that looks even worse than the acne.

The bottom line is that I'm in my mid 30's, sick of looking like a pimple faced teenager, and see after trying everything, including a dermatologist's care, that I'm just stuck with it. There is no cure, apparently.

Pros:

I see an immediate reduction in the size of my blackheads after each wash. When I am able to use it 2x per day, my skin becomes almost perfectly clear. Those painful, deep zits are gone because the pores are clear and can't become compacted.

Cons:

I don't consume each step in the same amount of time, but I have to buy the system in a kit. The facewash may be too coarse for those with delicate skin. I can't get away with skipping moisturizer; considerable drying will occur without moisturizer.

Very effective in deminishing blackheads and whiteheads, but is inadequate in tightening the pores. Works well for those whose pimples are formed from blackheads & whiteheads (compaction, infection, etc). Probably is inappropriate for those with sensitive skin. Make sure you apply a good non-comodegenic moisturizer after using this (I like Oil of Olay).

Pros:

Controlled acne pretty well and that's about it

Cons:

Made face flaky
Made my face irritated
Never really did clear it up

Bottom line is my experience wasn't horrible, it controlled my acne quite well but it never cleared it up. My face always felt dry but never dirty.

Pros:

Gentle, feels nice

Cons:

Barely works, not the *best* smell

Bottom line. It didn't work hardly at all for me. I saw the commercial and got so psyched that "this was the one." Well - no it wasn't. I've used it for like 4 months now and see the SLIGHTEST difference in my skin, if any. It really didn't work for me....unfortunately. Proactiv isn't all it's talked up to be.

Pros:

it helps with some of the oil on my face

Cons:

it dries out the skin a lot and i still have a lot of pimples. and i don't like the cleanser at all

proactiv is no more special than any other acne product i've used (i have yet to find something that works for me) it's not worth the money

Pros:

clears out most of acne, easy to use

Cons:

dries out some areas, starts and stops working after time, if use is discontinued break out occue ALL over the face even in places where acne was not present before.

It works, I'll give it that. It cleared up most of my acne but only after a few months of constant use. But then, just as acne was about to completely disappear, it stops working and acne grows worse. I've heard when this happens, you're supposed to stop using it for a while and start up again after a week or so. But, for me, that was not the case. I stopped using it and this only made it worse. I broke out all over my face. I mean everywhere! Before Proactiv, I only had acne around my forehead. I now have horrible acne all over my face. I would not recommend because its affectiveness will eventually fade and your acne will be in far worse condition than before.
