Pros:

Cleared up my acne quickly. My skin is really soft. My dermatologist's regimen wasn't working. This product is awesome. For those who claims to be scarred for life due to proactive being harsh, maybe you're allergic to benzoyl peroxide and can't use

Cons:

Liquid Tonert stuff stings a little at first - no biggie.

Love it!! Use it!!! It's awesome if you're not allergic to benzoyl peroxide. If you are, use salicylic acid products.

Pros:

Smells good
Easy light packaging
Bottles can be recycled

Cons:

Expensive

I've suffered from severely bad cystic acne since I was a teen. Tried Proactiv and it dried out my skin badly. But then it began to work. and it WORKS. For about two years I had consistently smooth skin, my acne scars were beginning to fade and I still had the occasional cyst, but stubborn acne disappeared. HOWEVER, and this is a WARNING, it stopped working after 2yrs. Now my face is completely broken out again and the scarring is worse than before. ALSO, I've been to a facialist numerous times and it's common knowledge that Proactiv is BAD for the skin. Many derms will say that the chemicals are too harsh on the skin and to use something moisturizing instead. I've been getting monthly deep pore acne massages with extraction and galvanic massages. It's beginning to work. My bottom line? Proactiv works for a while, but it will stop. BE PREPARED!! I still look at my bottles sadly...

Pros:

clears up skin well with consistent usage over a few months

Cons:

takes a long time, and if i skip one day i'll break out. expencive

i really like this stuff, but it takes a really long time to work, and if you skip a day or two, you break out. but consistent usage leaves a beautiful face.

Pros:

Has kept my skin "under control", showing consistency.
Cleanser has a very light scent I like.
I like the balance of the 3 products, the cleanser is a little grainy but the toner and BP settle things down for me.

Cons:

May take a little while to build a tolerance for those who have sensitive skin.
Takes initiative to find an affordable deal.
Living in a dry climate makes it a little more challenging.

I've used the 3 step for years and though it doesn't give me flawless results, it has been the most consistent. I've been back with it for about a year and live in Montana which is quite dry. I wash once a day and that seems to counteract it. OTC stuff seems to not be as powerful, and that includes the all natural stuff. I would give this system a shot if you haven't, and just be patient with it. Be gradual with the usage and see where it goes.

Pros:

It got my sensitive skin acne free . And my face got alot softer

Cons:

forehead area got very oily and cheeks got very red from dryness.

I like the product and it works but you have to adjust the use to fit ur skin type .

Pros:

I have used Proactiv for about 3-4 years and I enjoy it. It depends on your skin and acne how kong it will take to cure. You can see a difference and you have to be very discipline in washing and moisturizing your face twice a day.

Cons:

YOU CAN NOT STOP USING IT BECAUSE YOU WILL BREAK OUT OVERTIME

Don't expect an overnight cure, wash and moisturize your face twice a day. AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DARK SPOTS I ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THE SKIN LIGHTENING CREAM-IT WORKS!! AND ALSO THE FACE MASK YOU PUT A DOT ON THE PIMLPE OVERNIGHT IT DRIES IT UP!!!

Pros:

- It works
- The exfoliating cleanser felt nice, but maybe that's just because I love exfoliants
- The price is not bad at all for what it is

Cons:

- Like ANY product with Benzoyl Peroxide, it can dry your skin out a bit, so it may become flaky. Simply use any moisturizer and you won't have this issue. I think people definitely exaggerate the whole "dry skin" thing.

This product simply works. I used Murad before it which gave me limited results but hardly anything. With ProActiv I havent got any major pimples and the ones I have gotten are probably just because I missed the treatment a few times. But Ive missed up to 3 treatments in a row and my acne did not go back to normal (something I couldnt say about Murad) Reading these reviews, you will see that this product clearly gets some insanely mixed reviews. So perhaps it doesn't work for everyone. But the ingredients in it are proven to work and it HAS worked for many people. At this generally affordable price, its worth a try.

Pros:

Product works, but like some stated above "it's not a miracle product" and is in fact one of the Best on the current acne prevention market.

Cons:

-will dry skin, and cause breakouts at the beginning of treatment: explained below.
-price is high, but not compared to products like murad, or dermalogica

Proactiv works but you have to give it a chance. Since most cleansers aren't all balanced to the same PH levels you going to have reactions when switching. I used the product for over a year and loved it but stopped and began breaking out again. So I've started again even tho the price is so high. This product cleanses deep, removes impurities below the surface so breakouts are going to happen at the beginning of treatment, once you get past this bump in the road you'll see clear more even toned skin, if you have moderate to oily skin.

Pros:

cleared up most of my acne in a matter of weeks. reduced the swelling and redness. took care of those extremely painful pimples that are buried deep within the skin. also, i love the way the products smell.

Cons:

dried out my skin which then caused it to become flaky.

because using it twice a day was too much for my skin, i began using it at night time only. because of this my acne began to reappear again. i stopped using it because my skin couldn't handle it. i would recommend people like myself who had the same problem the gentle formula proactiv has created. i never experienced the "bleaching" problem which is just fine with me. also, use a sunscreen because that's the main thing that causes dryness for proactiv users.
