Pros:

-makes you feel clean

Cons:

-isn't consistent

I used proactiv for about 5 months and it worked the first 3. i stopped using it for a day and my face COMPLETELY broke out really bad. The reason why is because when you use an exfoliating cleanser twice a day, its actually creating more oil.

Pros:

Micro beads in cleanser leave you feeling like you got a nice clean face. Toner removes anything you might have missed. Lotion leaves your face feeling fresh.

Cons:

Toner and lotion can sting at times for a few minutes before subsiding. Leaves skin dry and flaky. Did not remove acne.

I suppose individuals with light acne might benefit from proactiv, but this product did not give me results worthy of $60. I tried this system for months and it didnt do anything significant. I RECOMMEND ONLY FOR LIGHT ACNE PRONE SKIN

Pros:

Helps somewhat, doesn't smell bad, skin feels clean

Cons:

1. EXTREMELY DRYING, it made my face itch, it itches all day long. 2. It doesn't clear you up all the way 3. It takes a while to work

I have always had really good skin with this product...back when i had extremely light acne. So it worked good then. But now, i'm 15 and i'm filled with acne, this product leaves my skin extremely itchy, dryed, flakey, oily, and tight. And worse, my acne has not gone away.

Pros:

The chick that sold em to me was hot?

Cons:

Crap stuff. For starters every step of this "solution" can be bought individually at the pharmacist at a much cheaper price. Two, did not work and made everything worse. Skin peeling / red sore raw skin / more lesions.

Pros:

Evens out skin complexion, gets rid of a bit of acne

Cons:

Skin becomes immune to it. Once you stop using it for a day, you break out ! / dries out & irrate skin

If you have sensitive skin, don't try ! They are better products out there.

Pros:

Saw results immediately.

Cons:

Stopped working after a couple of months. It is also expensive after a while. It was almost like the longer I continued using it, the more my face got mad at the product and lashed back with even more acne. It was horrible.

Don't use it, it is over rated. Go to your dermatologist and explore some other options with them that are proven to make a difference for your skin/acne type.

Pros:

seems to help prevent small comodones and blackheada

Cons:

doesn't prevent large pustules and cystic acne

I never had a lot of small pimples but more of 4-5 giant ones at a time. I started proactiv and it seemed to help for about a month then i would get 3-4 giant zits instead of 3-4. Not worth the price.

Pros:

None

Cons:

driest skin of my life--nothing would moisturize it. horrendous breakouts after stopping

As everyone else says, I used this for a while, it worked minimally at first, and then it stopped working... and now my face has blown up. I had minimal acne before hand, but really wanted to clear it up and thought this would do it. I wish I would have done more research on it before buying it because a year later, my skin is worse than it's ever been in my life. I am convinced Proactiv is what started this. If you miss a day, or don't do the entire treatment twice a day, your skin will act up horribly. After using it for a couple days, my skin looked like flakes, and nothing would moisturize it. it burned all day and looked absolutely horrible. It did clear up my skin minimally for a couple weeks to months, but the drying never went away and my skin was always flaky. Just horrible! Don't be fooled by the infomercials!

Pros:

none

Cons:

made my skin a tiny bit better in the first two weeks and then did nothing else and my skin got worse.

because of the three steps you get confused into thinking it is better than the other non perscription stuff. but i got much better results from a 10% benzoil peroxide wash than this horrible stuff. if you have light acne this stuff might work for you, but so will other much cheaper stuff over the counter. if you have moderate acne like me dont get fooled into using this. go to a dermatologist and get something stronger. i really like clindamycin.
