Pros:

Smells nice and it isn't too harsh on the skin. The exfoliating cleanser felt nice. The green tea moisturizer smells REALLY good and feels nice.

Cons:

Didn't work for me.

My cystic acne stayed the same. Didn't get worse, didn't get better. I'm on doxycycline and benzaclin now and it has worked wonders. I would really recommend that for people having trouble. GO TO A DOCTOR. They can assess your skin and make the best choice for your situation. 'One size fits all' does not apply to skin care!

Pros:

Cleared up my skin for a while, fairly affordable

Cons:

Dried skin like crazy, stopped working after a few months

I used Proactiv for almost a year. At first, my skin cleared up nicely -- I still had pimples, but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been. But after about 3 months, I started breaking out really badly on my cheeks (and I've never had acne there before!) & it didn't let up until I stopped using Proactic products. Additionally, my skin was horribly irritated, flakey, and dried out the entire time I used it. The Proactiv moisturizer is totally useless & the only relief I could get was with, like, 5 applications each morning of Oil of Olay for sensitive skin. Bottom line: this works for some people, but not for everyone, as Proactiv would like you to believe. Don't invest in a lot of product until you're sure it's right for you.

Pros:

It works for some...

Cons:

But when it doesn't work, it damages the skin causing dryness, pealing, cystic acne, hives, skin lesions, which may result in permanent scarring and discoloration and of course, short term anguish and depression.

The bottom line is that it may or may not work for you, but the risks are scary for those who it may not work for because not only may it not work but it will also damage the face. In my case, the products caused everything described in the cons section includinng severe cystic acne and skin lesions. Worst of all, when reporting my injuries, the reps continued to advise me to use their products as results vary by individual and that the breakout is normal and part of the process. I had to see a professional dermatologist who injected (quite painful) each of my pimples and prescribed me Accutane. Although the acne that ProActiv caused is all gone, I have been left with permanent scarring and discoloration. Pros:

It really did clear my skin up . . . people kept saying how good my skin looked

Cons:

It takes a very long time for my old blemishes to go away. I think it prevents my face from healing as well as it should. It does stain clothes too. the refining mask is amazing . . . but it smells really bad.

It does help a lot . . . but it's expensive. Try to find something better for your face.

Pros:

I can't say this product doesn't work - it did work for me at first. I didn't have bad acne, just regular breakouts, and this did do the trick, although it took a few weeks to start really working.

Cons:

I had horrible allergic reactions to this. It started out as dryness and peeling, so they told me to cut down the application of it. Then today I got a huge boil under my eye because of it.

I would say that if you have bad acne, get this product. But if like me you have sensitive skin, stay away. The good thing is, Proactiv gave me back my money and they are sending my a free trial of their sensitive skin version that has no benzoyl peroxide in it, but salicylic acid instead. The customer representative was so nice and immediately empathized, and told me how to care for the horrible boil that appeared on my face. My credit card was reimbursed and they are sending me the other product. All in all, this is a great company, with a great product, but you have to have BAD acne to use it. Try out the sensitive skin version with salicylic acid if you have sensitive skin or not bad acne.

Pros:

Cleansed my skin very well; felt fresh and light after using the three-step process.

Cons:

Never cleared up my acne. Had a tendency to dry my skin out around my menstual cycle.

Still looking for the miracle drug... I began to use Proactiv after seeing the great results my brother got from the system. I was really excited to try it after having a myriad of over-the-counter and prescription acne medications fail miserably. The results really did not live up to the hype. My skin felt cleaner, but the pimples never went away. I expected my acne to get worse and eventually clear, but it just never happened. I have been using the system for around nine months, and there has been relatively no change. I feel like, for me, it was a waste of money. It's quite a let-down because I had such high hopes of finding SOMETHING that worked on my skin. I do not have severe acne by any means. My acne has always been moderate, but stubborn. Proactiv just did not do the trick. Best luck to those who try it. May you have better luck than I did...

Pros:

i think it clears acne? i used it and im pretty sure it does and im thinking of getting it again but i heard about acnexus and people are saying that doesnt work and they are saying proactiv doesnt work so i dont no what to do i just dont want acne!

Cons:

it really dries out your face, so i stopped using the lotion as much which probably didnt help the drying completely. it costs so much and you run out kinda quick.

its a decent product but if theres something that works better then i would love to know...?

Pros:

The Sulfuric cleaner worked well for quick touch ups

Cons:

Inaffective treatement

I used Proactive for over 6 months, with steady use before I gave up. The problem with Proactive, and it is even proven with the infomercials, is that it creates layers on the skin, and so it gets harder and harder for the medicine to penetrate, and be effective. Secondly, and even Jessica Simpson backed this up, that you have to keep using it after the Acne is gone, even she said so, so you must keep buying and buying the kit. If you don't, your acne will come back. It is a good idea, and good start to a great product, but it has its flaws

Pros:

My skin is soft, and areas are clear.

Cons:

A little unsure if im using the product right, and enough of it.

I started it a week and a half ago. First morning i noticed a difference with my skin...soft. Then over the next couple of days my skin REALLY broke out....wherei have big pores. I got really upset, put after searching the internet found that this is part of the process........its getting all the crap out. So i started doing the overnight spot treatment......the mask on the spots! Bloody hell that stuff works.....the morning the pimple is nearly gone. So my skin i better than it was last week...and i can notice in areas where my skin was clear anyway, it is now glowing. Plus places where i would get huge spots, i no longer get any....so far. My pores also have reduced i size. I will keep you guys posted.....and see if the cleaning out has stopped, and if m,y skin is on the road to recovery. Plus i have also started taking Vitamin E,C and Zinc.......which also seems to help. Been using blotting paper to soak up oil during the day, and have been trying to not tough m
