I'm 20 years old. I dont have hard core acne but i do suffer from severe break outs especially on my chin and forehead. My skin is combination. I feel that pro active is best for my skin type due to the fact that it could dry your skin out. I tried it for the first time yesterday and I was suprised with the results already. I notice a lot of redness was gone from my skin and it was left feeling EXTREMELY fresh after I followed the three steps that came with the kit. "Cleanser, toners, and lotion" I love it! I'm looking forward to the results in the future and to have good clear skin. I got a 4 peice kit that incluced the refining mask as a bonus for less then $30.00!!!! Cant beat that! I always heard great things about it so I decided to give it a try. I sometimes can be senstive so if you are too just add a oil-free moisturizer on after you use the products. I use a dab of Neutrogena's Oil-Free Moisturizer for Combination Skin and it stops me from getting that too dry feeling. :)

Pros:

Very effective. Works quickly. Feels clean and fresh. LOVE.

Cons:

Rather expensive. It's worth it though.

I have been using this for 4 days and my skin is completely cleared. I even was feeling a pimple starting to come up, and I think it stopped it. It's a miracle. I've tried Epiduo, Tretinoin, and Tazorac. Nothing was working. Those are all dermatologist prescribed medications. I spent a lot of money in dermatologist visits, and she wasn't helping me. I was ready to give up- And then I bought Proactive Thank you sooo much Proactiv and thank you Drs. Rodan and Fields!!! I highly recommend this to everyone.

Pros:

Skin feels and looks smooth.

Cons:

Initial stinging, burning, & dryness (but goes away)

I'm Filipino w/ fair skin, combo oily t-zone & dryness. I would get the occasional pimples (not so much the cystic acne) around my chin & forehead. I still have dark blemishes from previous breakouts so I'm waiting for these to lighten (if ever). My skin felt smooth & clean after the first use. The next few days, I noticed irritation (red bumps), dryness, & stinging - as expected. I was starting to regret using it but I told myself I had to be patient. Now (two weeks later), my skin is less oily, the irritation & bumps have settled, & I'm glad I stuck through it. What really helped was not using the entire system everyday. I would use step 1 renewing cleanser whenever I needed to exfoliate (every 2-3 days) & followed up w/ my own moisturizer (w/ spf, yah!). The following day I would use my own facial cleanser & follow up w/ step 2 toner & my own moisturizer or step 3 repairing lotion (as needed). Your skin needs to adapt to the medication. We all have different skin thres

Pros:

Complete 3-step system that contains benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid.

Cons:

You are enrolled in their membership program. If you order online, it takes a long time to receive your order, and if you purchase the products at a kiosk at a mall, it's way too expensive.

I've been using Proactiv Solution for one year now, and I honestly would have to say it is working for me. I know there are lots of people out there who have had horrible stories with Proactiv and I understand that everyone's face is different. But just remember that diet and stress are also big factors. Besides the Proactiv Solution system, I also use Dan's AHA+ at night (love glycolic acid!), take cod liver oil (vitamin A and omega-3s), and I stay away from cosmetics containing bismuth oxychloride (a skin irritant). I love the repairing lotion the best because it is gentle on my skin and the toner is refreshing and moisturizing. The cleanser can be a bit too harsh, so be careful when rubbing it on your skin. Good luck!

Pros:

Clears up skin, fast. Excellent at preventing breakouts. Leaves your skin looking very even, healthy, and smooth.

Cons:

Expensive. Can occasionally burn VERY badly.

I used to have severe acne, all types of it, and we all know how humiliating it is, I don't even need to explain. ProActiv Solution cleared it up in just about a week and I noticed VISIBLE improvement even after the first 24 hours. Pimples were less pink, and had dried out/gone down in height. Something weird - the Green Tea moisturizer I got as a free gift began to burn my face badly after applying it for about a month. I'm not sure why. On a final note though, ProActiv WORKS, at least in my experience, and it works fast. No, you wont wake up Acne Free while using the basic 3 step system, but you can expect it to clear up fast, and leave your skin looking and feeling healthy, beautiful, and soft. I've also heard about a wash called "AcneFree", which has the same exact ingredients, and washes as ProActiv, for about $18 at WallMart. ****STICK TO YOUR ROUTINE!!!!****

Pros:

It worked really well. I often got compliments on my skin.

Cons:

It has a LOT of unnecessary chemicals in it. And you HAVE to use it twice a day, every single day, forever.

I had some really bad face acne for years (since I was a teenager), and this was the only thing that worked for me. Problem is that if you get lazy and skip a day, your acne will come back. When I was very conscientious, I had beautiful clear skin that often received compliments. I also really enjoyed the smell of the product, and my boyfriend thought so too. But now that I'm trying to use all natural products (meaning NO propylene glycol or sodium laurel anything), Proactiv misses the mark. It's chock full of unnecessary filler chemicals that I don't want seeping into my skin and bloodstream. Plus, Proactiv doesn't fix the problem, it just covers it up until you stop using it. So yes, this product works extremely well (at least it did for my skin). I just have a lot of objections for it.

Pros:

All 3 steps really worked!

Cons:

The toner give a burning sensation and causes a little redness; the redness does go away.

I started using Proactiv in college a few years ago. I suffered from cystic pimples, and if anyone has ever had these type of pimples, they know it is very painful and un-attractive. For those of you who may not know what a cystic pimple is; it is simply a very large, red, painful pimple that starts out under the skin & may or may not surface and can last FOREVER, or so it seems. I was going through a very stressful time in my life and I was desperate for something that worked. I tried Proactiv, and it is the only topical medicaiton that works for me aside from taking an antibiotic like tetracycline or minocycline which can cause bowel problems. I have REALLY oily skin, so my skin does not become extremely dry. The mask is great too, it helps get rid of a new pimple, overnight which is my favorite part. The fragrance is very pleasant, not overpowering like some OTC products I have used. Would definetely recommend it!

Pros:

Works well. Smells good. Made my skin feel clean and moisturized. The refining mask with the sulfur base worked wonders for my skin.

Cons:

Kinda expensive.

I love Proactive. I wish that it was a little cheaper, BUT keep in mind if you use the small dosage that they reccommend, you will be able to make the bottles last over 3 months, I did. ALSO if you order the $19.99 deal off the infomercial, it will NOT work on acne prone skin. Its just for people with oily skin, who never really have breakouts.I found that out the hard way. YOU MUST order the combination therapy pack. It treats and prevents acne, as well as helps with the oilyness of the skin associated with acne. I wouldn't use anything else on my skin. I paid almost 70 bucks for the Combination Therapy Kit. It had the cleanser, Toner, Refining Mask, Oily skin treatment, acne cream, AND moisturizer.
