Great product but they cheat their customers through billing

Pros:

product works well

Cons:

over priced
surprise billing

A few months ago I ordered Proactiv. You know, that celebrity endorsed recurring face wash commercial. What a great product. My face is now pretty much flawless. Note that I did not sign up for recurring purchases/orders. However, the next month I received another face wash kit in the mail and I was charged 22.99. I thought, 'Big deal, I was out anyway and needed to reorder so I'll just keep this system how it is.' The next month I was charged another 22.99 and never received my shipment. I called to ask why and I was told that the previous shipment I received (with no receipt, email, etc) was actually 68.97 and that I would be billed 3 consecutive months for the shipment I already received. Really?! Almost $70 for facewash?! So I did a little research and found that Walmart sells the same crap for $11. I give Proactiv 5 stars for the product and ZERO stars for customer service. They will no longer be receiving my hard earned money because I don't pay companies that cheat their customers. I will be buying the same facewash at Walmart for $11 because at least I know I'm not going to get a surprise bill next month.

Tried this twice

Cons:

Doesnt clear acne

I tried this twice and never got good results. After stopping and calling to cancel the order I was told oh mam proactive is meant for people with no acne. If you have acne you need the higher strength so like a sucker I ordered the advanced strength. Still no results waste of money

Pros:

Works quickly to clear up skin, soft skin, glowing complexion, even skin tone

Cons:

Small product size, extremely dry skin, if i don't use it my skin craves it, i have to go put moisturizing on even though i don't wanna, causes rough skin, smells weird, website, communication sucks, etc.

I have not decided whether I like proactiv or not yet. I have used to two times daily for three days and so far it just keeps drying up my skin every time i use it. It has cleared up my skin faster then may be healthy but I am not sure. What I wish I knew was the best product for me but I will ask my derm. I don't like the refining mask much anymore after it burned me today. When I use all steps without moisturizing my skin tingles and burns either so good or so bad. Don't know if its good to tingle and burn. Am I probably not very helpful because I have not sided on pros or cons.

Pros:

clears up acne

Cons:

works sometimes?

I used this (for a few weeks) years ago when i barely had acne and it didn't make a difference on my skin so I stopped using it. A couple years later my acne started to get worse so I began investing in more expensive products like philosophy, clinique 3-step, antibiotics (prescribed by my doctor). As an aspiring makeup artist, this was quite frustrating and lowered my self-esteem and I wanted to give up and just started using Cetaphil cleanser and lotion and that was it. But a friend had left his bottle of proactive cleanser (reformulated version) in my bathroom so I decided to give it another try. After 3 days, I noticed results (I had always read that phrase in reviews and was so jealous because I had never been able to experience fast results) and I am on my 2nd week now. I only use the cleanser and still use cetaphil as my moisturizer, no toner. I've received compliments on my skin (after wearing makeup) and I am very happy with this product. I want to use the rest of the product line but I'm afraid I'll over do it and make it worse. So buy it if you have nothing else to lose

Pros:

I used it for 5 years and it kept my skin clear while i was a teenager

Cons:

drying
bleached clothing and eyebrows
made my skin thinner
repairing lotion seemed to infect the pimples more than help
now that the formula has changed and im 19, it doesn't work what so ever and makes the breakouts worse.

it works for very mild acne and only worked for me before i became and adult. i think they had a better thing going before they added those micro crystals i'm very angry that it doesn't seem to work on my skin anymore i would only recommend for teenagers with mild acne. and no one else.

Pros:

It does cler up skin effectively after a while, but does take some time. And it was kind of fun to use. [ I loved the refining mask! ]

Cons:

Takes forever to see improvement.
Dries skin out terribly, sometimes to the point where it gets unbearable.
Redness.

I used Proactiv for a year or so. It worked well for the most part, but dried my skin out so much that it became stiff and crusty. It also became very red from the benzoyl peroxide, but overall it's an okay product.

Pros:

-helps
- step-one cleared up my chest and bacne

Cons:

-takes a long time to apply.
-is quite annoying.

I think this product only works if you have cystic acne. It didn't do anything for my whiteheads and other bumps, but it took away my cysts. This product ONLY works if you follow the step-by-step perfectly. And step two takes awhile to dry so..thats pretty hard to do. It worked pretty well for two months and then it stopped working. Oh, and step-one cleared up my chest and bacne and kept working! Proactiv does make some great products though! My advice would be not to follow the 3-steps, but to make your own regimen using some of their products because I think they're really high quality. I liked the green-tea moisturizer, the sulfur mask, sunscreen, some of their makeup, and such.
