Pros:

Works At First

Cons:

Stops Working, Makes Face Still Breakout

My face seems to be getting worse. I have used this product for about 3-4 months now. At first my skin seemed to be getting a tad bt better, then Proactiv just stopped working. For those who now have clear skin from Proactiv I congradulate you, but for those who have ended up like me, I feel sorry for.

Pros:

Fantastic - Got rid of my pimples in less than a week (i didn't have bad ones but at 24 the first onset is embarrassing!).

Cons:

You need to stictly use it twice a day, miss one routine and a few pimples will come back.

Definately worth a try but you need to get into a strict routine to use it twice a day

Pros:

Cleared my acne quickly. Kept my acne at bay for awhile.

Cons:

Expensive. Can only order online/by phone. Band-aid solution.

I have been using ProActive for a number of years. It has worked wonderfully for me, but it's definitely only a band-aid solution. It cleared up my mild/moderate acne very quickly, and I was able to come off the oral acne medication I was taking at the time. I never found it overly drying for my sensitive, oily skin. It did, however, leave me extra oily at times, though using the ProActive Sheer Finish Mattifying Gel helped with that. Sadly, after years of use, its effectiveness gradually wore off and I started getting more frequent 'occasional' breakouts so I decided to set out in search of other options. As soon as discontinued use my acne came back full force, and worse than ever! It's been awful, and now I'm back to square one. I would still advise people to give it a try, it did wonders for me as my skin did very well on this system. However, I am now searching for a new possibly more natural, long-lasting, acne fighting regime.

Pros:

-If used CORRECTLY you will see a difference within the first few days!

Cons:

If you stop using it you break out all over again :(

BOTTOM LINE IS THIS. Everyone's skin is different so if you don't like PROACTIV; the way it smells or feels ( I DO! ) thats O.K. just see how your skin LOOKS :) i have been using this for YEARS and it just keeps getting better! - beware all of whom are unpatient! it does NOT work miracles instantly it may take time depending on the severity of your acne! best way to use this..( i have 6 years experience btw) A.M. -STEP 1:Renewing Cleanser -STEP 2:Revitalizing Toner -STEP 3:Repairing Lotion - Daily Oil Control -Moisturizing Lotion IN THAT ORDER :) P.M. -STEP 1:Renewing Cleanser -STEP 2:Revitalizing Toner -Refining Mask 2-3 times a week leave on for only 10 min!! -STEP 3:Repairing Lotion GOOD NIGHT!

Pros:

-Smooth skin
-Removes dirt and dead skin
-Alleviates lesions
-Reduces whiteheads
-Very slowly, but surely fade scars
-Helps the complexion to a degree
-Suppresses almost all breakouts

Cons:

-Makes skin a bit dry
-Might make you breakout and make your acne worse when you disuse the product
*(Things that I don't mind, but others might)
*Smell of the mask and moisturizer
*Might sting a bit during application
*Have to be very consistent and avoid missing treatment.
*Have to stick with the product.
*Price.

Proactiv really works. Its not just by luck that they've been able to launch their product mainstream while others have failed. Either you're using the product incorrectly or you haven't given it enough time. The product works, but only under the conditions that you, the user, create as a suitable regiment corresponding to your skin sensitivity and type. In my personal experience, I've used the product on three occasions. First two times I tried the product it wasn't very pretty because I didn't follow the above directions such as consistency, sticking to the product, and good regimen which obviously made me breakout horribly. Before my 3rd use of the product, I didn't get anywhere near the product while it sat behind the darkness of my bathroom. By that time I was so desperate for my skin that I hopelessly used it. Its been roughly two weeks and I haven't had any breakout besides a pimple or two. Even the scars created from past acne has begun to fade. Remember, this product's main purpose is to exfoliate the skin. Common sense says exfoliating twice a day, every day won't make your acne and skin better, but worse and drier than ever. Now I basically only have my faded acne scars left on my skin with an exception of an active pimple or two and all I'm really waiting for is the scars to pass. I hope to make a sequel to this post. ***Hope this helps all my fellow acne sufferers out there.***

Pros:

Proactive worked for me when nothing else did!!

Cons:

Caused slight dryness the first month

I live in Chicago and have had the opportunity to visit several dermatologists here. The medication that they gave me made my skin look and feel worse. I would say my acne is moderate. My breakouts were few, but when I did breakout it was horrible and it seemed like it took weeks for skin to clear up. I am in my late 30's and have struggled w/ acne since I was about 24. Nothing helped me but Proactive. I saw the commercials for years and never thought to give it a try until I saw it on QVC. They supersized everything, plus they included the green tea moisturizer and the on the spot benzoyl treatment. I can't believe that I could have had clear skin years ago. Please if you are considering Proactive, give it a try!!! Your skin can't get any worse....

Drugstore Acne Products Are Better Than This Crap
First, I have always been skeptical about products that are advertised on TV and are not sold in stores, instead having to order over the phone or through their website. I get even more skeptical when the company uses celebrities to endorse their products. I have a hard time believing Jessica Simpson uses Proactiv when she has the money to afford high cost treatments and to see the best dermatologists in the world. Not to mention celebrities are getting paid big money to say a product is great. But, despite all this, I decided to go try it since it's been around so long. So, after buying this, I went home and used it, all three steps. My face kind of burned a little after I washed but went away after 20 minutes. However, about 4 hours later, my entire face felt like it was burning. Nothing could stop that sensation. I tried moisturizer, I tried soaking my face with a cold washcloth, nothing worked. The next day the burning sensation was still there. I also noticed that my skin felt very tight, and also felt very dry. It wasn't until the second day after using Proactiv that the burning sensation went away, and that wasn't until the late afternoon. I know it's not from the BP because I've used BP before without ever having this reaction. Thankfully, I didn't use this crap after this. It is a very bad sign to feel like your face is burning for two days after only using a product once! Honestly, there is so much better stuff for acne in your drugstore than this crap, and not to mention much cheaper!

I ordered a product in september 2014 and returned it immediately as it was just automatically sent and I did not order it! they said its 60 day return and money back! I NEVER GOT ANY MONEY BACK.. EVEN AFTER CALLING MULTIPLE TIMES!!! LATER ON THEY SAID THEY HAVE ALREADY PAID ME FOR IT.. i got fed up and never called them back! NOW after 2yrs they call me back to say I need to pay an additional 45$ late fee!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Did not help my daughters break outs and actually made her face res and irritated

Bottom line is this product is not as advertised. Plus when I called to cancel because I didn't recieve a shipment so I their customer service rep told me what my final payment would be so I paid and thought all was done. Now a few months later they say I owe them more money for product I didn't get and too much time has elapsed to do anything to resolve the issue but to turn me over to collections if I don't pay. THIS COMPANY AND THEIR PRODUCT IS A RIPOFF DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS.
