Pros:

None

Cons:

Makes acne worse
"Purging" effect never went away
Dries skin
etc.

In all honesty, I used this product a year and a half ago for a little over a month. I should have reviewed it ages ago as it was a terrible product but I just never got around to it. At the time my acne was manageable, light with the occasional breakouts but I was sick of getting these mild breakouts so I decided to try Murad. After the first week my acne got noticeably worse but I expected it as they said there would be a "purging" phase so I stuck with it. In the second week I started noticing types of acne I've never had before such as tons of whiteheads and blackheads. In the third week I was positive it couldn't get any worse and that the acne must start getting better now... that wasn't the case. It was cystic acne ALL over my face in every spot and this was very very demoralizing, I wasn't sure what do do until I finally just gave up on it and threw it away. This treatment had made my acne from a few spots on my face every once in a while to an acne onslaught that... a year and a half later I am still having troubles clearing it up. It took me around 6 months after the treatment to "fix" what Murad had done to me and by fix I mean manageable. I highly recommend not using this product, and if you ever hear the term purging, please note that it should not make your acne terribly worse and it should not last for more than a week max. Currently, my acne oscillates from very light to moderate depending on location and season, but I noticed the products that helped my face the most was drinking green tea (very effective for the first 2 weeks - reduced acne from moderately severe to moderate) and using a gentle skin cleanser like cetaphil. Stevamycin is also a very effective product.

Pros:

The cleanser is very cool. it is very soothing to the skin. Also the skin perfecting lotion was very hydrating.

Cons:

At first, i thought it was going to clear my skin. The first week is good, because it made my skin firmer. But the following weeks it made my acne worse! Breakouts come all over and it is ridiculously uncontrollable, but i still continued it to the fear that it would get worse if i stop it, but, it made my acne way more worse than ever.
The exfoliating gel is very irritating.

Try it. If it works then you can post good reviews about it but if it makes your skin worse, then you'll be like many who are posting bad reviews about this product.

Cons:

Broke out crazy on forehead, usually only have a couple breakouts once in a while, never experienced this . . . light acne became severe
Exfoliating clear liquid stung, almost unbearable
Skin red and irritated, super dry . . .

I'm 19 almost 20, and have only had light acne on and off depending on how stressful my life is. Just got off Yasmin BC, after using it for 6 months, now have been off it for 3 months. So, my body is trying to re-cleanse. Other's recommended Murad, I was hesitant, because I've not had a pleasant outcome of other systems, such as Proactive. Well my hesitant feeling came true, after a week in a half whole forehead broke out, their so called "purges," never had this experience, felt worse . . . Switched my regimen back to my old one, face cleared back to its normal balance. Not recommended . . . if someone want's their acne to get worse!

Pros:

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Cons:

It made my acne way worse than what it was...it was mild before now it is severe. It was way too harsh on my skin and made my have terrible acne that actually caused pain to my face. The products smelled horrific and took forever to go through the process. I understand that acne medicine is supposed to make your skin as Murad would phrase it "purge" but there is a fine line between small breakouts and causing SEVERE ACNE.

Bottom line is that this is my first blog and the only reason I went as far as to create an account and take time writing a blog is because I am very disgusted in this product. I have used everything as expensive as Proactiv with the mask included to as cheap of products as ones you could buy at a local store. I am so mad that I spent my valuable money on such a waste as Murad. I am very upset with myself and whatever genius invented it (sarcasm). Really the reason I am writing this is because I wish I would have read a blog similar to this before purchasing such an expensive piece of garbage. If you have money to spend and do not care if it is a waste or not buy it and have acne, But if you are like me and work hard for every dollar you make and unfortunately have acne spend your money more wisely. I am very frustrated with myself for falling for such bogus products such as Murad. I just hope whoever reads this has way more sense than I did and trusts what I am saying and saves themselves 60 dollars and some terrible acne. They do come with a return policy though, oh but it does not cover the expensive shipping and handling that you already paid or the cost to send the stuff back, how convenient for them.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Sore, dry skin.
Extreme flaking.
Taught pink skin.
Swollen face.

I used this product as I hadn't read any reviews (I really wish I had). After just one days use my face had swollen up, I could barely see out of my eyes and I looked as if I had been beaten by a professional boxer. I was put on medication by my doctor that left my house bound for three days. My skin is still hyper-sensitive and peeling after 10 days. Not a pleasant experience.

Pros:

It sounds professional. The bottles are very nice.

Cons:

This product is horrible on the commerical they say take the 4 week challenge and you will see results bullsh*t. I used this products everyday twice a day for 3 months and I didnt see any type of results period. On the commerical they dont even tell you what the main ingredients that targets the acne in their system. You dont know tell you get it in the mail.

It does work please dont ever try this stuff. Murad cost way more than Proactiv and it doesnt even work better than Proactiv. If you see this commerical change the channel their 4 week challenge doesnt even work it just makes you skin worse. Take it from me I use it everyday twice a day for 3 months. The mask they give you is so watery too. At least I can say Proactiv gives you results and the mask is awesome but the bad thing about Proactiv is that you still break out with a pimple or two even though you use it twice a day everyday. What I am trying now is Dan's Regiem because I have tried everything and nothing keeps it clear for long. So wish me good luck.

Pros:

none, honestly.

Cons:

smells horrible, drys skin, makes acne WORSE, takes too long to put on.

I wouldn't recommend Murad at all. I tried it for almost 2 months just to give it a chance. It has made my acne worse. I am at that teenage acting stage and hating my skin.. I would not recomend it to any other teens. It is very harsh. You have to do it twice a day and it takes FOREVER and smells HORRIBE. If you buy it----you're wasting your time, and money.
