Wasted 5 months and wads of cash
Background first: I consider myself a hippy (obviously) and really wanted to go down the "natural" path when it came to my acne. Tried that for years to no avail. Finally got on Murad after my cousin professed his deep love for it. I should have known better because I dislike him and pretty much everything he stands for. Ha. Anyways, got the kit, was warned that it would take a while to get all the existing forming pimples out so I was mentally prepared for it not to work overnight. I followed the instructions to A T for 4 months. Sure, I got depressed when I didnt see clearing but I just kept with the mantra "slow and steady" and "Patience". At around 4 months of dedicated use, I got the worst cystic breakout I have ever had in my life. It was one of those "shut yourself in the room" type of breakouts and it didn't get better for... well weeks. I remember being blown away that after having shelled out so much damn money on this miracle product, I would not only not see any clearing but actually find it to be getting WORSE. It was then that I just went in and threw the entire product line out. They were almost full and I am not flush with cash so it was definitely a big financial loss but I just felt like I was doing more continual damage to my skin by even finishing what I had. And I lost patience. I started the search for new products. Went to my dermatologist - they wanted to put me on drugs again (NO WAY!!!). I contemplated R&F but had heard bad things. I actually just was using Clearasil for a while... HAHAHAHA. What a joke. Four months or so ago, I read about Ninja Skincare on Amazon - random place I know. I had never heard of it but it had great reviews so I gave them a call, pretty deserate for a solution and pretty dubious. Had an amazing, life-changing consultation with one of their estheticians and got on their product stat. Remarkable stuff. Not since I was on Tetracycline in high school have I had such clear skin - and without the terrible side effects of Tetracycline. Only reason I gave Murad 2 stars is because the cost for it isn't as exorbitant as some other treatment plans out there but overall, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - other than people I dont like, like my cousin. HAHA.

A Mediocre Product

Pros:

Price
Accessibility

Cons:

Lack of viable results

I have tried Murad numerous time, and I have gotten mixed results about their products. Hence, I don't know how effective they are. What really worked for my, with break outs and scarring is an all natural product I have purchased from Holystic Hut dot come, I have used the spot treatment "Almogan" their Detox Tea "Nikuzit" and their moisturizer "Neve" all you can find at Holystic-Hut website

Pros:

Doesn't stain clothing like benzoyl peroxide.

Cons:

Is not strong enough for me

You can get stronger products in the store. Neutrogena makes products with salicylic acid. They make a gel that's 1% stronger then murads. Also neutrogena makes cleanser that's 0.5% stronger then murads. Cheaper then murad with no shipping and handling. If this doesn't work go to a dermatologist.

Pros:

NOTHING!

Cons:

From light to severe acne ! Made me purge Gave me lots of the big ugly pimples/cyst Horrible the worst thing I applied to my face

I had light acne and I gave this a try because proactive did not help! Worst mistake of my life it made me purge dried out my skin and made me peel! Please dont buy this !!! If I could go back in time I would never buy this again!

Pros:

The only good part of this regimen is the Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel...WHICH by I would just buy separately if you want to use something from Murad. The treatment gel has good ingredients, (glycolic acid, witch hazel, retinol) and can be beneficial just by itself. Don't buy the whole kit.

Cons:

Sticky residue
No improvement in skin clarity

So many things wrong & I blame the clenser. This cleanser has so much OIL in it, I can't understand how people with sever acne have had success: hydrogenated castor oil (I have seen this very ingredient in hair products!) Tangarine leaf oil, Citronella oil, lemon peel oil, Lime Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Mandarin Orange Peel Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil. So this is straight from the ingredient list...8 different oils in the cleanser in this regimen. Do your research and read the ingredient lists before you give in to those TV commercials where a smiling perfect-skinned teenager tells you they had a miracle with this kit!!!

Sulfur Mask works great.

My skin wasn't oily before, and this product made it oily.
Made me breakout where I didn't before.

It makes skin soft, but oily, but didn't help my acne.

Pros:

Very refreshing

Cons:

Made my face raw and red

I really liked the cleanser because it left my face super refresed BUT it was too strong to take off my eye makeup which I didn't like. The moisturizer was nice but the acne gel or something this package made my sensative skin raw and red, so I had to return it.

Pros:

At first acne went down . Big pimples don't come out as big.

Cons:

White heads get more bigger/nasty , got acne were I never use to get it. Started to sting a bit. Acne everywere on face : cheeks ,forehead, chin, nose, around lips,

Have been using it a bit over a month and acne changed from little white heads and big ugly pimples to not as big pimple but more and bigger white heads and red bumps. Good results at first then- big and saddening disappointment .
