I just started using it this weak after a friend reconmended it to me and so far everyone has been telling me my skin looks great! I like it so far i used to use proactiv but it was a little to strong for me and it dryed my skin out. This has the perfect balence between really cleaning your skin but with the mosterizer it doesnt dry your skin out. The only thing i dont like about this is the $$$ it was not cheap but murad is a trustful brand and has been around for a long time.

Pros:

First product I've used that doesn't dry out my face. Great lotion. Honestly, I think the other girls on here talking about how it dries out their skin are just not meant to use it, just like I wasn't meant to use ProActiv because I had a bad reaction. It seems to be working for me, so no complaints.

Cons:

Expensive for my taste. Wish it came in bigger bottles.

I've been using this system for over 2 weeks now. I didn't even make it 1 week with ProActive, so this is a nice change. My skin redness has been noticeably reduced and I am getting less and less pimples everyday. Woohoo!

Its Amazing
I am completely aware that people have had horrible experiences with this product. But many others have had it work wonders on their skin! This is the case for probably ever acne system out there. When you choose to try an acne treatment you are putting your skin at risk of any side effects that treatment may cause. Different people will have different experiences with every type of product, because acne is very complex and everyone has different reasons for their acne ( and different skin ). So, this is MY personal experience with the Murad Acne Complex that I bought from the official website. I've had acne since Grade 6. I am now 18 years old. My acne is very complicated. Sometimes it'll randomly go away, without any product. And then randomly it will achieve the worst breakout I have ever had. I have most likely used every acne treatment out there. I have been prescribed medication, orally and stuff you put of your skin. I have tried pro active many, many times. It is a good product but it stopped working on my skin after my many years of using it. I have also tried organic soaps and pills and body cleansers and all of that stuff. All of these products would work on my skin but it wouldnt stop more breakouts from happening. I first used Murad In Gr.9, a few years into my mild/serious acne. It worked very well I had no negative or horrifying side effects like others speak about. But, my acne wasn't only due to dirt and excess oils. It was hormonal. So, again my acne still appeared. Murad did improve it greatly but hormonal acne will not be stopped by face wash. So, when I turned 17 I started on birth control that helps acne. Then I made the mistake of using pro active again. The benzoyl peroxide does not do well on my skin. So now I am 18 and I just started using Murad again. It in three days has reduced my acne 50%. It has had o negative effects at all. ( knock on wood ). And I will continue using Murad for as long as I need to. It is the only promising and safe acne treatment I have ever used over the 8 years I have been suffering with acne. Along with the treatment I will be drinking a lot more water, eating healthy, and exercising more. Because no matter who you are and what type of acne you have doing those things will improve your skin, maybe not heal it but it will make a difference. In conclusion, I would recommend this but id also like to remind everyone acne is extremely complex and there will be no magic cure that works for everyone.

Pros:

Skin becomes significantly smoother!!

Cons:

A little pricey.
Stings at first

This product reaally works. My skin got a little worse the first week using it, and then it just cleared up. I only get a couple pimples every now and then. It didn't clear up my black heads though.

Pros:

clearier skin, less redness, sensitive skin option

Cons:

regular product does damage to sensitive skin, company didn't tell me about sensitive skin line

I had a bad breakout that included cystic acne when I used the "regular" line or products. I returned those products and asked about a "sensitive" line...which they had but hadn't told me about when I called the first time. Frustrating! The sensitive line works fairly well for me. Less redness, no cystic acne but I still have pimples. I'm 49-years-old, have had acne all my life and still haven't found a solution. I'll keep using Murad until I find something better.

Pros:

clears skin
natural ingredients
top of the line performance ingredients
(Glycolic & salicylic acid, sulfur)
leaves skin really smooth and luminous!

Cons:

exfoliating gel does burn at first (but after using for two months, its imperceptible to me now)
purging stage

I used this line for about two months after going through aveda's outer peace line, arbonne's clear advantage line, and eminence acne products, this is by far the most successful line I've used! I use Murad's Time-Release Acne cleanser instead of the Clarifying Cleanser (smaller amount of sal acid that continuously works throughout the day- and also is anti-aging) which makes my skin so smooth and decreased fine lines I was seeing around my mouth (mid 20's and a smoker). Before beginning this regimine, I had acne on my décolleté (chest), neck, and face! Yikes! I'm talking huge, painful, throbbing pustules with its own pulse in some places. After consistently using this regimine for 2 months, my skin has cleared up somewhere north of 80%. No breakouts on chest, neck, upper lip, forehead, or nose =) I have a few on one cheek (the side I sleep on), like 2 healing on the chin/jawline (any breakout in that area is hormonal!) and that's it! I would be remiss to not mention I use DDF's BP 5% just at night as a spot treatment. Also, I've been doing a 30% sal peel every 2 weeks (its really hardcore and only for those who know what they're doing and follow directions to a T!) Murad is great, but maybe not great for everyone. You just have to find the perfect combination of products for you!

Pros:

Leaves Face Smooth and lather like
Clears up moderately not a miracle
Great Smell

Cons:

Purging
Acne spot treatment is a joke

It works for the couple days, then stops, then purges, then works slowly... the acne spot treatment burns and fails every time i recommend doing an egg facial 3 times a week

Pros:

clears acne

Cons:

skins gonna purge out the ass

It works, it just takes awhile. My skin started getting pretty bad as i kept using it from the purging. It was the worst the second week, then I started to notice areas of the skin clear up. Basically ur lifes gonna suck ass for awhile, which kinda sucks since im 16 and in high school. O and dont go to a dermotologist cause they f**kn suck. Every time i went there, they prescribed something different, and each time i used the prescriptions i got acne in places i have never gotten them like my chin, cheeks, and forehead. Before i went to a dermi my skin had like 5 zits. They ruin u. Murad saves u.

Pros:

Doesn't bleach my clothes, towels, or sheets.
Pore size reduced. Only thing that has worked for me.

Cons:

Price

I recommend at least trying it for a few weeks. I bought the trial kit at Sephora. If your face gets too dry then cut back on the gel.

Pros:

*Works well, yet is gentle
*Clears & gets rid of hyperpigmentation
*Smoothes and Soothes
*Natural Ingredients
*Multiple anti-acne ingredients

Cons:

*Sort of expensive
*Run out of exfoliating gel before other products
*Spot treatment isn't very effective

I have used these products for years and I like it a lot. The cleanser lathers up great and smells good; the gel fades post-marks, clears skin, absorbs well, doesn't feel greasy, and curbs oil production; lotion absorbs well, moisturizes effectively, and doesn't feel greasy; spot treatment - I don't use it because I don't think it works. Instead I substitute Bye Bye Blemish Spot Treatment (the stuff in the little glass bottle), which has the same active ingredient as Murad Spot Treatment (sulfur) but at a much higher percentage. So, over all I like the Murad Anti-Acne line with the exception of the spot treatment.
