Pros:

It makes your face feel very smooth. It eventually starts to reduce your acne scarring. Easy to use!

Cons:

Too expensive
Purge was a bad one
Too small

Be ready for the purging, but it will get better and I recommend it to anyone with very bad acne, not normal skin.

Pros:

None of it smells too strong. The sulfur spot treatment works well.

Cons:

Not enough lather in the cleanser, the salicylic acid gel doesn't work well at all. The moisturizer made me itch.

Not worth the money.

Pros:

I didn't think the smell was bad at all; one month supply has lasted over five weeks, and I still have enough for at least another 10 days.

Cons:

After five weeks, still purging. Cystic acne, whiteheads, etc. Embarresed to be seen in public with my face the way it is.

I am not sure if my face is worse than it was before, but it's not better like I hoped it would be. I am 37, and am having worse acne now than when I was a teenager. I don't think the lotion is any good. The cleanser is fine. I am going to finish it up, but I don't think I am going to buy it again. I know different things work for different people. I just don't think these three-step systems are good with my skin. Back to the dermatologist.

Pros:

Nothing other than giving you false hope when you begin using it.

Cons:

Makes your acne worse than before.

Using this made me brake out with whiteheads that eventually got worse, gave me horrible scars and ruined my life.

Pros:

I like the moisturizer the most. It made my skin soft.

Cons:

It smells bad. It actually made me break out worse.

I tried this product for three months exactly as the directions say and I saw NO IMPROVEMENT. In fact, the first few weeks I used it, my breakouts were awful! I was so embarrassed because I've never had so many pimples in my life. And they just kept coming! What a waste of money.

Pros:

It was affordable, and had a "money back guarantee"

Cons:

Ruined my skin - over a year later and I'm still trying to repair the damage. "Purging" never stopped.

After glowing reviews and a "money back guarantee" - I thought, why not? If it doesn't work, I could always get my money back. Nothing has worked to clear up my mild to moderate adult acne (26 YOF, developed acne about 6 years ago) - I thought this might be the answer to my prayers. I couldn't have been more wrong. My skin looked fantastic for the first week - I used exactly as directed, except I cut back on the gel because it was so harsh. Within a couple weeks I broke out in deep, painful cysts. I developed acne on my cheeks (which had never happened) and a cystic lesion smack between my eyes - to this day, it's still there haunting me, refusing to budge. It completely changed the balance of my skin - it's never been the same since. OH - and the money back guarantee? TOTAL LIE! Sent in my bottles and never received refund!

Pros:

works for me+ not irritating

Cons:

$$$expensive$$$

This is the first product I have used where I have been consistantly clear. I can leave the house without make up now YAY. I tried proactiv which was very irritating to me and only made my skin marginally better. Murad has a more soothing cooling sensation to it. I think the main reason people are having problems with it is b/c they haven't gotten the right products for thier skin type. I was told that the kit tends to be very irritating, and that I only need the cleanser and the toner(which was cheaper so I was happy)). Murad is expensive but I justify the price by the fact that it has better ingredients than proactive (such as vitamin E, grape seed extract(antioxidants) and salycilic acid which prevent wrinkles).

Expensive and ineffective
Bought this for my daughter after Neutragena Skin ID was discontinued. It was very expensive and the bottles were so small I would have considered them "sample" sizes, I would have continued to pay the ridiculous price if it had worked, but we saw NO improvement. Used it for 2 months to give it a fair try and nothing. Would not recommend this product.

Pros:

- may clear light acne for a few months
- cleanses
- moisturizer is creamy and light

Cons:

- leaves skin looking aged
- cleanser, toner, and leave-in spot treatment smells horrible
- after a few months moderate and severe acne would return
- cleanser isn't strong (takes two washes for me to remove makeup)

I've been using the complete set of Murad Acne Complex for over 2 YEARS now.For about the first 6 months I saw some improvement ( about a 30%-45% decrease in acne- and I had black and whiteheads). But afterwards for the next year I didn't see much of an improvement and felt that it had hit a plateau. And up till now (for the past 6 months) it has only gotten worse.I have twice as much acne as before and I'll occasionally will get cystic acne (something I NEVER had before). Also the wash smells like a combination of oranges and acid, and the leave-in spot treatment smells strongly of sulfur.Besides the untreated acne, the smell has to be second-most embarrassing.I would try to use the spot treat all over my face in hopes of reducing my acne, but those around me (when near my face [hugging, kissing], or even when I laid on a pillow) would complain of the smell. A bad-smelling face should NOT compensate for acne treatment. Unfortunately I'm still using Murad until I can find a cleanser that works.I'm thinking about trying Black African soap, and if that doesn't work I'll try going back to Proactive - Yes PROACTIVE, something that I stopped using 5 years ago due to it being too harsh. But I feel that I have no other choice. I'd rather have a dry face than one that smells so bad I can't be near my friends. The only time I would recommend this is if you have LIGHT acne and is suffering from a flare-up, and I would only recommend the cleanser and the moisturizer. And when applying make-up you would have to wait about 10 mins for the moisturizer to absorb in the skin. I felt like I wasted two years of my life and now I don't know where to go concerning my face.I would visit the Derm, but last time they only gave me a bunch of random topical medicines that left my face extremely irritated and when they prescribed me Minocin I was constantly sick (nauseous, stomach cramps, dizziness) and left me with a very ODD case of skin discoloration.Tha

Pros:

None

Cons:

has a purging period
made my acne worse
did not work
the gel irritated my skin

I've had acne since i was 14, I'm now 18 and recently it has gotten worse. I used this product for three months and i made my skin worse! It caused bumps all ever my forehead which i never had before. It caused bumps everywhere which turned to cystic acne and my my skin looked ugly and worse. I would not recommend this to anyone. I just stopped using it 3 days ago and started the Exposed Acne System and it had already improved my skin AMAZINGLY. Murad did not work for me it made everything worse.
