Pros:

cleanser is great and will last for a while. Buy the set, it will save you money.

Cons:

- spot treatment is VERY stingy, and may dry out the skin around the acne.
- purging process really tests your patience! I was horrified after the 1-2nd week of usage..pimple mayhem.

I'm really glad i stuck it out and kept using it for a few more weeks after my crazy breakout (crazy because I have never broke out like this in my life). Started getting a lot of tiny acne on my forehead (which NEVER happens), but its clearing up now. It seems to dry out, harden, or push the dirt in your pores up to the surface. I started noticing my blackheads crusting and it was so easy to just pick away the entire blackhead out. My pores are definitely cleaner. I use it with Clarisonic, and it seems to be working really well. I feel like the longer you use it the better the results. I still have quite a few pimples around my cheek and forehead, and some of them are red bumps that take much longer to heal (and are actually painful-feels like a swollen bruise on your face) and seem to scar/turn into a sizable brown blemish when they do. The difference in skin is most noticeable when I wake up in the morning-all the acne and redness has been reduced.

Pros:

Money back guarantee (except for the shipping!)

Cons:

Doesn't do a damn thing.

A few years ago I'd been using a prescription benzoyl peroxide product (Duac) that had worked very well for a long time but had recently lost some of its effectiveness (either that or my skin had just changed and gotten worse). Unfortunately this coincided with me being up late one night and catching a Murad infomercial. I am seriously a sucker for infomercials so I ordered the entire system and within a week after I began using it my acne got REALLY bad. I don't think that something in the Murad caused my skin to break out; it was mostly the fact that I'd switched from the Duac, which was moderately effective, to something that was not effective at all, despite all of its slick advertising and packaging. And the worst part was I believed them when they said it would get worse and then get better and kept using it for way too long which caused lasting damage in the form of red marks and scars. Don't waste your money! Btw, the positive reviews seem like they're written by Mu

Pros:

Worked a little, reduced spot size but didn't stop new spots from coming.

Cons:

Didn't really work all in all

I've used this for 3 weeks with no improvements, so I'm going back to Benozyl Peroxide.

Pros:

This product definitely seems to work. My acne isn't completely cleared yet but very nearly.

Cons:

The instructions supplied with the kit in the UK are utterly feeble and inadequate. Possibly they are written for teenagers who won't read the instructions anyway.
Also - this product is good but needs to be used with care.

I followed the instructions for four successive applications (evening/morning/evening/morning) but after the fourth application my face was very dry, red and blotchy. The instructions say you should carry on for four weeks but unfortunately I have a life to live, so I ignored the instructions and stopped. I washed my face with water and put on ordinary moisturiser. The next day my face looked great - far from perfect but a huge improvement. I repeated the same procedure a week later over the weekend. This time my skin didn't react so badly, but there is no way I could use this product in the morning and then go to work.

Pros:

Cleanser and lotion smell good; cleanser tingles and gives you a clean feeling.

Cons:

Made my acne WORSE THAN EVER! Never-ending "purging process". Hated putting exfoliating gel on my skin: thick and tacky... made my skin burn for least 10 minutes after putting it on.

I had mild acne prior to using this product. Being greedy and wanting perfect skin, I tried Murad. BIG MISTAKE! I did get some purging within several weeks but stuck it out in hopes it would get better. On the contrary, the purging got worse with continued use. My forehead is covered in blemishes that will not go away! My face is so tender and painful... I used to be able to feel comfortable going out in public without makeup. Not so anymore! Now, no amount of makeup can conceal the ugliness. This product may work for a minority, but there is no way I can recommend it.

Pros:

Easy-to-use packaging. Always promt and reliable with delivery of the product.

Cons:

Exfoliating gel is sticky and smells awful. Toner is also sticky and caused face to sting and burn. Spot treatment did not work. Quite expensive.

I've used Murad for a bit more than a year. It worked well enough at first (albeit I broke out initially), but has failed to do the job for about three months now. The only product I didn't mind was the cleansing gel, and even that doesn't work. I found the exfoliating gel disgusting, and the lotion made my skin greasy. It's also far too expensive, and the company sends unnecessary amounts (probably just so they can charge you). Consequently I have a major backstock. I think right now I have more acne than I started with, so yesterday I quit Murad and switched to Vichy Normaderm. We'll see how that goes.

Pros:

Moisturizes well, clean feeling, reduces oil, does not irritate/itch/cause dryness

Cons:

Time consuming, expensive, feels tacky, causes shine, bottles do not pump (can harbor bacteria when touching the dispenser), does not prevent pimples, customer service SUCKS, does not reduce red marks, does not help blackheads

Up until two weeks ago I was on the three step Acne complex kit for about 6 months. I used it twice a day every day and the clarifying mask once a week. At first I did notice a grainy feeling on my forehead and the sides of my face as oil surfaced and dryed up after cleansing (this stopped after the first three weeks). For me, it greatly reduced the amount of oil on my T-zone, but the exfoliating treatment gel caused tackiness and shine so I still appeared oily. I still had regular breakouts so this did nothing to prevent acne for me, but it did slightly reduce the life of smaller pimples. None of the products in the standard Acne Complex kit did anything for red marks or blackheads. CLEANSER: moisturized skin and washed away oil, EXFOLIATING GEL: tacky, caused shine, SPOT TREATMENT: noticeable, prolonged life of pimples, MOISTURIZER: matte finish, not oily, absorbs alright, MASK: reduces pore size, absorbs oil, works only on smaller pimples. Overall, these products were ineffective.

Pros:

Improved skin texture... thats all.

Cons:

Purging process is complete BS. Contains Talc to control shine - A known skin irritatant and acnegenic ingredient for sensitive skin. Creates more problems than it helps. Did nothing to clear my skin. i too got the cystic

Separately all of these ingredients are good for acne, less the talc. However, I think that when combined all of these ingredients are just too much for the skin. Glycolic Acid, Retinol, Salycilic Acid, Algae Extract, and Tea Tree I believe. It causes adverse reactions in the skin and in many cases cystic legions. I also noticed during this that i started to get irritation bumps on the side of my face. I also don't believe this is just a purging process due to the fact that I used this product for 3-4 months so murad is totally BS-ing. Honestly i've seen better results from walmart brands. Save your money and try dermalogica, skin ceuticals, or nucelle.

Pros:

The face wash smelled good...that's about it ha.

Cons:

The price, too drying, irritating, stung so much!

I was curious about murad myself after reading many reviews..and it seemed like only murads actual website was the only place saying it actually worked. But I still bought it and now I feel VERY ripped off. The stuff isnt cheap, and to me it works as well as something you'd buy at a drugstore. NOT VERY WELL. I was actually mixing the kit with a b.p. compound my dermatologist gave me and I had horrific results. I got severe open acne all of a sudden that I couldnt get rid of. My face was itchy , red and irritated. I stopped it right away after a month and actually tried it again this past week with NO b.p. (cuz the kit isnt cheap! i hate to through it out right?! ha) But again my face was really itchy and it actually made my lips really burn. So it will go in the trash now.. :)

Pros:

nice moisturizer, pimples might have gone away a little quicker

Cons:

Irritated skin, red blemish left over after pimples, did not keep them from coming just helped them go away quicker, funny smelling

Ive been trying this treatment for about 6 months. My face steadily cleared up at first and was almost completely clear after about 5 weeks but then it suddenly broke out pretty badly and hasn't recovered since. Ive been using the treatment correctly but it just stopped working. Very disappointing seeing as i saw hope that this was finally it!
