Pros:

Did clear my acne for the most part. Especially the deep cystic acne bumps that had been there for months.

Cons:

Dried my skin out severely! My whole face is covered in flakes that won't go away even while moisturizing several times a day!
Also created a burning red rash after each use, but that went away in a few hours

I bought the severe version of this system because I tried the regular version a few years ago which didn't work for me. My acne is mostly on the sides of my face and jaw line. It's a mix of cystic acne and a few white heads here and there. At first, the system worked well at clearing the bumps deep below the top layer of skin. I noticed some drying under my chin, but didn't pay much attention to it. There was some burning and redness after each use, but it usually went away in about an hour or two. After about 2 weeks of use, the dry patch under my chin started spreading to other ares of my face and by week three my whole face was covered in dry flakes. So i decided to cut back and use only once a day and add a moisturizer. This didn't help. My skin was still very dry. I stopped using the system hoping that my skin would go back to normal. I also started moisturizing several times throughout the day. A few days later and my skin is still extremely dry. I've never had dry skin this severe and I can't even apply makeup because it won't go on smoothly over the flakiness. The severe system is extremely powerful and really messes with the chemical balance of your skin. I don't recommend it unless you would rather have a dry rash over your whole face instead of acne. Either way, both are embarrassing.

Pros:

Easy system
Worked very well at first
Moisturizer heals very well
Relatively inexpensive

Cons:

Does not necessarily kept skin completely free of acne over time
Dryness may occur
Moisturizer made skin oily (for me at least)

I have been using this product for the past maybe 2 years to fight my never ending acne battle. I was actually a very faithful customer simply because it was cheap, it worked very well at first and it kept my acne from flaring up. The toner was nice and although the moisturizer made my already oily skin even oilier, it cleared blemishes and scars very well. However, like with all acne products, it has its own negatives. Over the months, it feels as though my skin became so dependent on it that even a missed day would result in massive volcano eruptions on my face. Okay, maybe that last sentence was a bit melodramatic but bottom line, It was like a drug for my skin. I recently stopped using it because I was tired of feeling as though my skin will never be completely free and because of the constant shine and oil on my skin. Okay, enough of my ramblings. The true bottom line is, if you're looking for a quick fix, get this. It works very well at first and it heals past scars! However, if you're looking for something long term, avoid simply because it will lose its effectiveness over time. Thus, I just recently switched to Dan's regimen. Hopefully, the regimen will be like my secret weapon in this never-ending battle.... Like a holy sword of light or something.... Sorry... That last line was kinda random... - Sana

Pros:

-Prevents light pimples
-Clears up skin within first few days of use
-Keeps skin relatively clear from light to moderate acne
-I have oily skin, and Acne Free really keeps oil away

Cons:

-Does not prevent cystic acne
-I have used the "Severe" as well as the regular/white bottle systems. I have oily skin and the Severe dried out my skin and left me with flaky, scaly skin.
-The Severe system is very grainy and makeup is difficult to apply if you don't rub off the excess residue.
-The Normal skin routine (white bottles) was more gentle on my face, however the BP cream is still slightly grainy.

- My skin has become immune to the Acne Free system over the course of a couple months and now, after at least 4 months of use (I've tried to stay hopeful and stick with it), it still keeps light acne away, but does not help with black heads or cysts and I do occasionally get small zits, mostly from picking, though. - Skin is dry all the time! - BP is very grainy ***I took advice from the Acne.org Regimen (let your face dry for 10 minutes before applying BP and be very gentle!) and it has improved my skin over the last two weeks! I also started using an old Murad glycolic acid spot treatment and it works wonders when used with BP!

it worked fine until after awhile it stopped working like it used to. It cleared up my acne but it made my pores more visible and my skin really dry and flaky.

Pros:

Easy to use.

Cons:

It worked on the first week and I saw improvements but by the end of the month, my acne was back to nomal. Slightly worse, actually. I used up the bottles TWICE and nothing happened.

This product didnt help me at all.

Pros:

Clears up MOST acne- for me. clean feeling

Cons:

Not all acne gone, and after that benzol peroxide lotion (step 3) my skin was so irritated and tight I had to always use cetaphil in order to have some moisture on my face!

AcneFree worked well for me, but didn't clear up ALL of my severe acne that I had- I still tended to break out, but it got rid of some of my bad acne I had

Pros:

-helps dry out acne
-cheaper than proactive
-can buy it in stores

Cons:

-dries too much; moisturizer barely helps
-too harsh
-didn't completely solve the problem

This product helped for a while, and then I began to develop cystic acne, which I hadn't had before. It kept my acne under control than just a basic unmedicated cleanser, but overall was too harsh, drying, and didn't do the job well enough even though I used it for a year for lack of anything better!

Pros:

Toner feels good and helps skin tone for a couple minutes but doesnt help acne. Just as many breakouts, if not more. And I've been using it religiously.

Cons:

Didn't help acne at all, might even have made it worse. Lotion leaves skin looking shiny.

It's a waste of money if you have severe acne like me. No other problem has worked, even prescription medicines.

Pros:

This product is cheap at Target. I have only used it for 1 day at night and when i woke up, pimples have already began to dissapear.

Cons:

When i woke up my face was burning/ itching and swollen around the eyes, Looked like i got into a bad fight or was up crying all night. I guess i'm sensitive to the Benzoyle, because this also happend when i tried Proactiv but with Proactiv it burned worse and was crazy red. The swelling did go down through out the day but left a red flushed look on the cheeks that still hasn't gone away yet.

I bought the sensitive skin one and i think that is even a little too strong for me. I think mostly it's the step 3 repairing lotion that makes the face burn. I will continue a few more days to see if i adjust because day 1 has shown promise. I will have to keep it away from my eye area to avoid the swelling. My boyfriend says "bad news your face is swollen but good news your pimples are gone" i hope i don't have to choose!
