I don't think elicina will do anything for ice-pick scars, I'm afraid. It may have some effect on red marks due to the presence of glycolic acid in the cream, but unfortunately there are no topicals that I know of that will help pitted scars at all.

For ice picks, you could look into the following treatments: needling, punch excision, TCA CROSS.

for the aspirin mask i take 6 aspirin, dissolve them in a little bit of water and then spread it over my face. i wait for it to dry and then wash it off. makes your skin really soft and smooth and really helps with marks.

This is my first post, but I just thought I'd share some recent discoveries. I have always suffered from moderate acne, but the worst part for me wasn't the actual acne, but the red marks left over.

In preparation for dermabrasion, my dermatologist prescribed Tri-Luma cream, a hydroquinone based formula, to prevent hyperpigmentation. Much to my surprise, the cream alone made my skin better than it's ever been. My red marks faded almost completely, and my skin felt smoother than ever. It did make me peel around my mouth, but other than that I was very pleased. Unfortunately, it is only available via prescription.

After having subcision and dermabrasion on my cheeks on November 11th, my brand new skin was naturally quite red. On the recommendation of my derm, I started using Skinceuticals Phyto+ to combat the redness. This is available over the counter, but usually only through a dermatologists office, although I have seen it on [Removed] and [Removed]. Anyway, it too is a lightening product, but uses kojic acid rather than hydroquinone, and doesn't have the side effects possible with hydroquinone. I've been using it about a week, and I'm finally seeing some progress with the post-procedure redness. It's breaking up quite a bit and is now just splotchy and pink.

I'm thinking of starting either the lactic acid peel or mandelic acid peel.

I have dark skin (indian origin) and would also like to use this with dalacin (clindamycin) topical solution. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am currently using emu oil and rosehip oil and it seems to be working good.

Red scars after acne occur either from inflammation with dilated blood vessels as a part of that inflammation or due to early scar formation with dilated blood vessels. Topical medications do not work. Smoothbeam does not work (It is for atrophic scars). The best treatment is either pulsed dye laser or intense pulse light. Both of these procedures will go through the skin and destroy the dilated blood vessels. Tincture of time will also help.

I have to agree here, but IPL (intense pulsed light is better over Vbeam (pulsed dye laser) in my experience for hyperpigment and blood vessels disorders. I have had both. IPL machines vary and are very operater dependant. V-beam also is operator dependant but is a wonder in skilled hands esp. for tiny blood vessels . But for acneic pigment disorders IPL is much more effective. Just my two cents.

 

Also doctor have you had experience with Diacneal? Rentinaldehyde .1% and Glycolic acid 6%. This is giving good results for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne, also proving to be helpful in acne control without p.acne resistance. This acts on melanin suppression. I don't think PIH is all about blood vessels, melanocytes play a part as well. But the best tx is IPL for sure, get it done and over with I say.

 

 

 

 

I dunno where to post this, but can I get help on my skin? I'm really desperate.

I have red marks all over my face, and I'll attach a pic of my left cheeck.

Secondly I'll attach a pic of my neck (below the chin area). Recently it has been horrible in this area and I dunno why. I dont touch them at all, but they still develop acne and become red marks.

I'm really desperate for help. I'm disgusted with my own face!

I was thinking about using the Lactic acid peel stuff for the first time to help get rid of red marks and shallow scars... would you say 30% is a reasonable strength? I can only seems to find 30% and 50% where I look.

Can somone say which version is best for which skin types? I have no idea which one to get for both the gel and mini-peel, so do you just guess and try?
