Greetings everyone,
New here, so I'll be asking lots of questions. I started reading reviews and got completely confused, but found one or two things helpful.
Background: I'm a 35-year-old Asian female, likely Fitzpatrick skin type III or IV (but hyperpigmentation isn't a concern for me). Had multiple surgeries, left with scarsthink nasolabial fold fat and skin excisions, bullhorn and upper lip corner tweaks for augmentation, plus lower blepharoplasty.
Procedures so far: Post-surgery, I slapped on silicone gel and tapes for 4-6 monthsmeh results. Tried dermabrasion once, saw 40-50% improvement in some scars, but hello pits and enlarged pores elsewhere. Erdium and CO2 lasers? 2 and 4 times respectivelybig waste of cash. All done within 3-14 months post-op, while working abroad.
Current status: Two years later, deep and severe atrophic upper nasolabial folds, pesky pits under my nose, and linear sutural scars.
Options: After sifting through mountains of reviews, I've picked some standout docs. Dr. Rullan specializes in subcision and phenol peels, which I am particularly interested in. Dr. Taylor is known for his subcision, possibly suited for my upper nasolabial folds, but he primarily uses lasers, which I've had no success with. I'm less familiar with Dr. Weiner, though forum feedback seems positive. Dr. Qazi has decent Instagram photos but limited forum mentions. Dr. Hazany's services are too expensive for me.
Plan: First thoughtround two of dermabrasion under twilight anesthesia with Dr. Navin Singh in DC (why fly coast-to-coast?). But an Eastern European sage cautioned: 2 years post-dermabrasion equals a 20-25% max boost. So, he pitched 4-5 rounds of Morpheus8 (microneedling + RF)collagen boost. Plus, phenol peel temptationblame TikTok and IG fever. Mary's on it with Dr. Rullanhoping for a consult soon. Online date set with Dr. Qazi too.
Questions: Should I bet on Dr. Taylor, Dr. Weiner, or any wild cards? Your thoughts and tips are pure gold!
P.S. Not sure why, but the pic doesn't really capture the scars.
