Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has had cosmetic surgery done to correct facial asymmetry thats caused by acne. My face is messed up bad. I got a really bad infection when I was young (Im willing to bet it was some sort of Staph infection) but I basically got massive cysts all over my face. Because I was some 15 year old young and dumb kid, I never asked my mom to go get it checked out but basically since I only sleep on the right side of my face, it got super infected on the right side to the point to where the right side of my face was purple. Now that my acne is more under control at 25 years old I seriously regret not going to the derm. My entire face is covered in deep rolling scars but the left side of my face is minor compared to my right. The right side of my face is severely sunken in compared to my left. Ive tried all sort of scar correction surgeries such as CO2 laser, subcision with filler, acid peels, Microneedling, etc. and, according to others, my face looks the same. Ill never forget spending $2,500 for my subcision and I told my friend about it and she said that she didnt really notice a difference, that stabbed me and basically made me call it quits with acne scar treatments because for the price tag, theyre not really worth it especially after getting them done for years. So Ive learned to accept that theyll be there forever and if they really bother me, I can just get some tinted sunscreen which helps mask them a bit. However, the asymmetry in my face is crazy and that cant be hidden. My nostrils are also severely different, like one is far far smaller than the other so I was already planning on getting surgery for that since my nostrils face outward like a pig so everyone can see them. If anyone has had success with cosmetic surgery to correct facial asymmetry please let me know because Id like to schedule an appointment as soon as I can!
This is interesting. I haven't heard from someone who has tried that before. But under the care of a really good surgeon, good things can happen.
I think your attitude at this point is really good. You're not expecting dramatic results, and you realize that sometimes doing less and accepting yourself is a good way to go. In other words, yeah, surgery can always be done, and people will always take your money, but it's up to you to make sure it's what you want.
Couple questions:
- You say filler didn't work? You didn't notice anything?
- Same with CO2 laser. Was it ablative? As in took your skin off and took a few months to get back to normal? And that didn't improve anything either?
