Might need a more ablative treatment, but there are always risks. I don't think that combo is going to help much to be blunt. It looks like it might be softer or it could just be the lighting I can't really tell, but the texture probably is more or less similar. It's very difficult to treat more shallow scarring but yours and mine has the same textural pattern and doctors don't have many solutions.

Personally I'd try another dermabrasion but not with these current botox docs or with crazy 8k or 10k estimates for a gamble.

Getsmart do you think co2 erbium would ablate the texture enough or is sanding the only possible solution to this thing? Honestly idk. I have the same texture in lighting. It's almost like the skin layers don't want to heal properly together and you'd think it would be an easier fix but it seemingly isn't.

I'll be trying retinol 0.5% (and maybe tret in the future when this runs out) to see if it helps any with the texture although I know that will be a long process to see anything. Not sure what to try next just need a break from treatments...tired of having a red face these past months lol. Derm said I would continue to see improvements for 4-6 months post treatment so we'll see I suppose...it has only been 2 months since my first treatment.

I'm skeptical on 'continuing to see improvements' from those treatments. Subcision maybe but unlikely RF or that laser.

BTW I'm all for trying retinol but it's really not improved me much. I try 0.25% twice a week for maybe 5 or 6 months now. I think it's smoother to be honest but it looks like it can irritate the scars too. Like after using it yesterday my scars or texture kind of aggravates.

But I'm still for trying retinol because it really doesn't do any harm and seems to have some benefits of smoothening it. But to be honest, that kind of stuff can only be cured via surgery. It's just the layers are uneven or something. I almost think a dermabrasion can only cure it, actually sanding down the layers so they heal well. But I know of no surgeon that will touch superficial scarring.

Idk what to try next if anything. I don't know if trying a stronger laser is worth the risk of making things worse. I've sort of been curious of trying minoxidill to fill in this patchy sorry excuse for a beard to try and cover it up somewhat lol. But some of the side effects sound scary plus I read it messes with collagen growth.
