No clue if there are any at home options I can try or if I should just go to a cosmetic dermatologist? I'm in the Seattle area.

EDIT: Treatment I've received in this post: 3 sessions of Genius RF Microneedling + LaseMD(I believe is the laser used)

I would say skin resurfacing. A rejuvenatinglaser can smooth out the skin and decrease the appearance of enlarged pores.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll read up about this. If anyone has other suggestions I'd love to hear them.

These are scarred pores and just texture issues.Yes full ablation erbium laser or deep phenol peel is the way to go to put an end to this rough texture.

Cool thanks for the suggestion. So out of curiosity is there any type of thing at home I can try for this?

Deep peels are doable at home, but canbe easily fucked up and the damage is near on impossible to fix

The best thing you can doat home is searching fora professional to perform the procedures on you. Do not put yourself at risk by wasting money on ineffective and potentially damaging products.

Saw a derm today and she recommended 3 sessions of RF microneedling + laser for $3k. Start next week.

By design from damages in a fractional way so not sure if it help texture that much but a safer way to start for sure.

Finished my first session on Thursday. Didn't think RF microneedling would be as painful as it was...thought it would be similar to dermarolling which I tried years ago. Next session is in 4 weeks. I'll take an updated picture just prior to it.

Some progress pics before my 2nd session later this week. Kinda hard to get some good pics due to lighting. Kinda hard to judge whether it improved any because I moved into a new apartment the same day as my first session and the lighting where I look in the mirror is totally different than what I was used to.

Yeah I'd like to say the texture has improved but can't be 100% certain

What treatments are you doing specifically? I saw you write RF needling + laser but specifically what laser. I also don't think needling will do anything. Truth is it's very shallow but yes I get that you want to rid that texture I have the same on my left side. Pretty invisible from farther away but noticeable up close or in shining light/shadows.

I can't tell if it's improved or not simply because it's so different in different lights/angles same as me sort of. It looks less pronounced perhaps as in less sharp, but there's still the same texture pattern that needs better options to blend imo.

It's genius rf + laseMD I believe

Might need a more ablative treatment, but there are always risks. I don't think that combo is going to help much to be blunt. It looks like it might be softer or it could just be the lighting I can't really tell, but the texture probably is more or less similar. It's very difficult to treat more shallow scarring but yours and mine has the same textural pattern and doctors don't have many solutions.

Personally I'd try another dermabrasion but not with these current botox docs or with crazy 8k or 10k estimates for a gamble.

Getsmart do you think co2 erbium would ablate the texture enough or is sanding the only possible solution to this thing? Honestly idk. I have the same texture in lighting. It's almost like the skin layers don't want to heal properly together and you'd think it would be an easier fix but it seemingly isn't.
