Hi jacecali, thanks for posting your progress so far. I have very similar scars to you, and if this turns out to be successful, then I may even travel to South Korea to have this doctor perform the same thing on me.

However, I ask if you could please post your end result photo in identical lighting to the original photo (directly overhead). In fact, if you could take the picture at the same time of day and place it would be ideal. One thing I've noticed is that almost every acne scar before and after picture is in different lighting. Even most of the posters on this forum who claim success (such as Mr. Matt) take their before and after photos in completely different lighting.

Direct lighting from camera flashes actually do very well to conceal acne scars. Overhead lighting exposes it.

There is no doubt that there will be SOME improvement, since subcision / needling seem to post the best results. I hope that you can accurately depict what others with similar scars can expect from these procedures.

Thanks, and I'll be following this thread for sure! Looking good!

Hey TrendyCat,

Yeah for sure I'll take the exact same after picture. The pictures that I posted up after my 2nd treatment wasn't for comparison, but just to show you guys what I look like after the treatment. The after picture, I'll take after my sixth session. Also, I know pictures can be hard to believe so, I took a video of myself before getting my 1st session. After the 6th I'll take the same exact picture and video.

mmmmmmmmm scammm scam

Hey Maldition,

Could you explain how this is a scam? Am I advertising this stuff? Am I going around saying that this a miracle treatment that will for sure fix your scars? I don't understand so fill me in please.....

Hey Maldition,

Could you explain how this is a scam? Am I advertising this stuff? Am I going around saying that this a miracle treatment that will for sure fix your scars? I don't understand so fill me in please.....

Maldition seems to have a trend of posting "scam!" on many treatments without actually elaborating on why they think this is the case. Not to badmouth them but I haven't come across a post of theirs that has made much sense.

As for your progress, how are you going? I know others are asking for photos but I prefer to hear about the experience and how it has made you feel about your skin. Photos are great but they only tell so much, or can be misleading even when that's not the intention. I'm more interested in hearing whether the person found the treatment worth it. So, may I pry and ask you a few things?

1. Did your doctor give you an idea of how much improvement to expect? In terms of % or any other measurable means? And, I know it's early days but, have you seen any improvement or are you still waiting for swelling etc to die down?

2. What is your after-care like? Do you have to put any specific topicals on your skin, stay out of the sun etc?

3. Do you mind sharing the cost factor with us? :)

Thank you Jacecali! It's people like you who are willing to bare all and show the rest of us what you're going through that makes this community great. The only way we'll beat acne scars is if we share knowledge and get excited about the progress of others. :)

Hey Quirky Fox,

1. Did your doctor give you an idea of how much improvement to expect? In terms of % or any other measurable means? And, I know it's early days but, have you seen any improvement or are you still waiting for swelling etc to die down? The doctor told me for sure 90%. As for improvement, I can see some on my cheeks and don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me, but the 3 spots I have on my forehead, are pretty much filled. There's only a dark brown mark but the skin has totally raised and it doesn't have the crater. So I guess I can say that I see some improvement. But the ones on my forehead are not my biggest concern. It's the one's on my cheeks. I use to have dimples because of my scar but now the dimple is starting to fade when I smile, so I'm assuming that it's filling in the hole which is making it difficult to form the dimple. I actually liked the dimple but I would rather much have the hole filled in. Oh, and the swelling goes down after 5 days but still a little red.

2. What is your after-care like? Do you have to put any specific topicals on your skin, stay out of the sun etc? Currently I'm applying toner, post procedure cream (EFI 30), and moisturizer. I also take vitamin C every morning. I don't really see the sun much cause I"m home most of the time and go out at night.

3. Do you mind sharing the cost factor with us? The treatment cost $650 per session ( they are planning to increase the price)

I hope this helps, and if you do have any more questions, feel free to ask anytime. I'll keep you guys updated after every session.

really hope to have the best of results

could you ask your doctor about any details(journals papers?) regards to the procedure?

you could tell him that knowing how this works, your body can respond better (body-mind/thoughts relationship)..

would be really helpful :)

Hey Panos,

I'm sorry but what do you mean by journals paper? Do you mean like documents on how exactly the procedure is done? I'm not sure if he's willing to give out too much info but will ask...

hm would be good not to go so far...but i mean if you could ask some minimal scientific paper of how this works so you can study it

and feel sure about the procedure..would be so helpful...the more you ask the better just be sure not to go far...

but then again you have the right to know whatever happens in your face...

hey jace cali....first of all best of luck for the improvement...:)...

secondly i read your thread but i am bit confused regarding this cora procedure...i mean how is this different than subcision....

do the doctor insert needle at an angle or horizontally...?

if horizontally does he move the needle back and forth and sideways..?

subison without nokor needle and with smaller needles is still subcison btw.

Hey Scarfaces,

I'm telling you this based on what I heard from the doctor. I asked him if this was subcision, and he told me no. It's called Cora Therapy. As for the needle, no he does not insert it horizontally and does not move it back and forth or sideways. From what I know, in order to undergo subcision, don't you need a partial anesthetic? For this treatment, he only uses a numbing cream. Anywho, I'll ask him more in details next week.

Hey guys,

Just got my 3rd session on Wednesday. I have to say that it is actually working. As I have mentioned about the dimple, I can't seem to form it anymore when I smile. The redness is starting to die down. Still have 3 more sessions to go so, I'll keep you guys updated.

Jace Cali,

Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us, I'm interested to see your results.

I found a website, translated into English about the Cora Therapy treatment.

The pictures on here seem to all be shot in very similar lighting, and the results look quite good.

impressive...it says that ''You can get almost no side effects do not interfere with daily life, the daily return is fast, safe and effective treatment.''

so i am sure there has to be a way to do this to yourself...

Hmmm... Why would you want to do it urself and take the risk of further damaging ur scars? Even though the procedure may seem simple, I wouldn't want to do anything by myself. I would rather much pay and have a specialist do it.

there arent many persons that offer cora therapy treatment... thats why...the procedure is like needling the scar from 2 directions as

shown in the picture... the results are much better than any laser thing out there...its like all you need is the needles being used

and specialist technique:)

the results on the second part of pictures also remind me this persons achievement...

The link you provided is without a doubt amazing. However, I still wouldn't want to try doing it myself. Have you tried that on ur scar? Sounds pretty painful but I guess if u have the courage and the know how and u are willing to take the risk, then I guess it would be worth trying.

I agree, home treatments are a bad idea. Leave it to the professionals.

Jace, thank you for the information that you've been providing on this and for having the courage to not give up!

Hey Jace Cali

Does this website give any more details about the procedure? It explains the process step-by-step, but a lot of the text could't be translated. The links at the top also lead to info about aftercare, frequently asked questions, etc... all in Korean sad.png

Thanks again for keeping us updated and I hope you get the same amazing results as in the pictures.

do you mind if i ask you again what is the time between each session..??

also do you mind to ask your doc what sort of peel uses after the cora therapy and its concentration?

i think the technique is obvious...they want to target the tissue where the dermis is collapsed.but what confuses me is

whether they begin needling from the outer edge of the scar or the inside place of the scar or both!?

thank you for this thread and every explanation is welcome!

Most treatments target the damaged tissue (subsicion, needling, TCA Coss) so I'm curious what is different about this treatment and thought the website might explain it.

Also he said he waits 2 weeks.

jt13 if you see the link below they approach the skin from the outer edge of the scar ..they insert the needle diaonigally till the needle reach

scar tissue at the center of the scar...in contrast with dermaroller and dermastamping they target the scar tissue somewhat vertically...

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.naver.com%2FPostView.nhn%3FblogId%3Dmynamja%26logNo%3D130111901003

also if you have already see this thread below there is a chance that this guy performed cora therapy on his own without know it.

he pinched up the skin ,then insert a thin sew needle somewhat horizontally from many parts of the outer edge of the scar and his result were amazing..

[Edited link out]

i strongly believe that there is a relationship here

Hey betterdays89,

Unfortunately, no that's all they have. I'm assuming they don't want to give out too much since they are the only ones that are performing this treatment here in South Korea.

Hey Panos,

The time between each session is 2 weeks. He said something about a laser peel but not sure, I'll have to ask him again. From what I see, he seems to poke it from the outside of the scar. Also he told me on my next session, which is the 4th, he's going to do something else that's suppose to make the new tissues rise along with the needling.

Hey everyone,

Just came back from my 4th session. So something new. Along with the needling, the doc lasered off the edges of the scar to even things out, which I think is brilliant. I'm not posting any pictures cause it's just going to look like the other ones, red and swollen. I've 2 more to go and then I'm done. I'm assuming he would want me to do more to make it really really perfect but time and money is a bit tight so I am planning to wait till December. Oh, yeah, I forgot. I was going to tell you guys that there is a way you can actually get this surgery if you have the will and credentials. This is just something I thought about for you folks that don't have access to this theraphy. I'm pretty sure some of you guys know about this, but you can actually try getting a job as an ESL teacher for a year so you can get this done. I use to be a recruiter for people that were interested in teaching in korea, however, I am no longer active. But if you want me to help you I can. So here is the deal. As an English teacher, all you need is a bachelor degree in any major as long as you are from the 7 English speaking countries and you must have a clean record. The benefits are great and it's a great way to travel and save money. A lot of recent college grads come and end up paying of their debts and still have money to take home. Fully furnished housing is provided, airfare is provide both ways, insurance is covered 50%, and you get a severance pay after your 1 year contract. The salary ranges anywhere from $2,000-2,700 a month. Now you might think that this is not a lot.. and it actually isn't for some people. However, think of it like this. Let's say you make $5,000 or more a month. But you got your bills, rent, insurance, high living expenses( depending where you live.. I'm from cali and it's not that cheap) etc... How much do you think you would actually be left with from that $5,000? Not a whole lot. Now, you pay no rent, no bills other than the utilities(which is pretty cheap here), 50% of the insurance is covered, and the living expense is really low here in South Korea. So, what do you think about my idea? Hope it helps someone out... If you have any other questions, feel free to ask~

Sorry for the typos.... theraphy?? lol therapy.
