just quick question... i understand about the stem cell treatment for scars, all very straight forward and great etc... but what if you still have an active infection deep under the skin (cystic acne) in the area where the scarring is on your face? in my case i have a deep infection which i am currently still fighting and trying to get rid of with doxycycline. it seems to be de-congesting it underneath and it feels abit clearer (don't wanna jinx myself here cos everything else i have tried hasd back fired!) but i was just wandering if any kind of stem cell treatment can rid the actual infection. or can this treatment still be done while you have the pores/follicles infected with the cystic acne? i am hoping that it clears the infection for good once and for all, then i can start to sort the scarring out. also one quick question, i am going for a consultation for pixel laser to treat both the active infection and scarring. is that effective in your view or would i be wasting my time? my scarring is very deep btw. i got the feeling the lady at the clinic was just after my money, thats why i ask. cheers.
I just registered on the Acne.org website and skimmed this thread. If you want to see some before and after pictures of patients who underwent various combinations of stem cell, fat transfer, PRP and TPA treatments, do a search on AdiStem & Dr. Ziya Saylan.
My dermatologist is going to Turkey for a couple of weeks to learn about the stem cell procedure. I expect to have the fat transfer and stem cell procedures done in August. I will let everyone know how it goes.
I am in the USA.
I did not think to ask my doctor when we discussed the stem cell procedure this week but, in looking at the information on the AdiStem website, it appeared that the use of their procedure was still in the clinical trial phase in various locations around the world, but NOT in the U.S., so I am wondering about the status of the procedure in the U.S. I have seen posts referring to doctors in California and Texas who are doing it. I assume FDA approval is required.
Does any one have any information on this?
The doctors in the US aren't using the Celution Device. Doctor Renato Calabria is using this in Italy and wants to bring it to his office in California as soon as he is able to. I don't know if the FDA has cleared it yet. The Celution Device is used in London by Dr. Khan and in Japan. The device First, adipose tissue is taken from the patient by a low volume tissue collection procedure. Next, the collected tissue is placed in the CelutionA Device, which processes each patientas tissue with a single-use, application-specific consumable set that easily attaches to the CelutionA Device.
The CelutionA Device liberates the stem and regenerative cells from the adipose matrix; the cells are then separated, washed, and concentrated in the collection container. This real-time processing takes place in a closed environment to minimize the risk of exposure to contaminants and can be completed within the timeframe of a single surgical procedure.
Next, a syringe is used to collect the cells that are to be redelivered to the same patient. The cells may be injected directly into a site or implanted with a delivery matrix or scaffold to improve performance, such as combining the cells with an adipose tissue graft in reconstructive surgery procedures.
Following re-infusion into the body, it is thought that environmental cues from the damaged and surrounding tissue guide the stem and regenerative cells to the area of damage and help facilitate a natural healing response. The cells may respond by a variety of mechanisms, which promote tissue survival, graft retention, and/or differentiation of progenitor cells into the appropriate cell type.

Here's a doc in Florida using stem cells and PRP in facelifts: http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/ft...r,1331607.shtml
Perhaps he would be open to applying this to treating scars.

Where is the bulgarian doctor. Where is the guy who was supposed to receive photos of his work in june.
hiya,
I,ve just been reading back on the last few pages and I can honestly say dr khan is not behind any of this positive feedback on stem cell treatment. I have not seen him since december when i had stem cell treatment and although my scars have not dissappeared they have improved and my skin looks like skin now and not tissue paper like it did before the treatment. I am going to see khan in july to discuss further treatment to reduce my scars and open pores. He is the only dr i,ve seen in the past 4yr who has a genuine interest in trying to help my condition. By the way i,ve just found out it was,nt the exoderm peel itself that caused more harm to my skin it was the doctor who performed the procedure, while i was under sedation he scrubbed my face with tipolisher ( thats sand paper used to clean surgical instruments ) after he performed the deep peel - shocking ain,t it.....just a word of warning ppl make sure you go 2 a good dr or derm before letting any1 near your skin
