hi guys thanx for your replies. I've been in contact with doctor Channing Barnett for almost 2 weeks, and she always took time and explained everything to me. She said that the silicone would be right choice for my depressed scars that are located on my right cheek, and on my beard and arround the mouth area. She was even so kind to mail (not email, mail!) me their phamplet where the procedure is explained with the before and after photos, also she wrote me a small letter saying that she thinks that i would benefit tremendeously from micro silicone injections. The fact is, and the most logical, that effect from those injections probably depends on experience of doctor. They have over 30 years of experience doing this procedure, and I dont see why would I question their methods. Also, I am like most of you concerned with safety of injected silicone, as I am pretty much into sports, training kick boxing and driving race cars for fun, and my question was if there is a chance of some kind of deformations forming on my face from punches, wearing helmets...etc. She said that in their experience, silicone is very safe and permanent if done correctly and in correct dozes. Also she mentioned that for different reasons, most of her family members have silicone in their bodies. So why would i doubt that?
As i started to be a bit skeptical as most of you, i will probably search for more proof of this story she told me, not because i dont want to trust her, but because i was scammed to many times till now. I will contact her just before summer to make final conversation and to decide whether i will do it or not, as i really want to make this scars go away once for all and I will get to see NY (never been there be4) so that would be one more plus for me
anyway, we will see what will happen. I just want you , and me, finally beat this damn scars, as I am not known to be an easy quitter. When i want to go through with something , I usually do.
will go to NY this summer to get liquid silicone injections with DR Channing Barnett. Why not do something like Restylane instead? It's safer and long lasting, as well.
hi mate 🙂 is restylane like permanent or...? any success stories with it so far?
Marko, I think restylane is only a temporary solution. I may be wrong however. There are definitely a large amount of permanent fillers out there, so I guess you can pick and choose which one you think is safest. They usually offer you a temporary one to start off with - to see if you like it. I must admit from reading the results on here, the fillers do seem like an awesome alternative. I hope it works out for you buddy !:)

Not to get too much off-topic here but yeah, it's basically a temporary solution (it can last up to no less than a year). However it is said to induce the build up of collagen while it's in your body which is there to stay.
I'm considering having it done myself.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like my scars are slowly coming back after just 4 -5 months. My skin still looks better but the rolling scars which were plumped up with the surgery now seem to be going back again 🙁 I need to make an appointment with dr khan as I haven't seen him in a few months. I expect he may suggest another treatment like fraxel but to be honest, I don't have the funds and don't want to take the risk so I may just ask for a temporary filler instead. I'm still happy with the results and hope my skin stays like this but as I'm still meant to be in the improvement stage and am noticing a halt and even regression, I have a feeling it may just get worse from now on.
That's surprising to me. I thought a solitary treatment was supposed to be enough to yield long lasting results.
Shame about it coming back but I feel stem cells will only last for 1 year and the gain after will be at around 30%Thanks
Colin
I thought ninety percent of the fat that's injected is supposed to survive and the general results are supposed to last for many years. If I remember correctly, that's what it says on Dr. Khan's site? I could be wrong, though. 🙁
It's too bad people are somewhat let down. Especially seeing they've spent a lot of money on it. And up until recently I thought Dr. Khan was the only one in Europe but now it seems Marko also knows someone who can do it. There may be more doctors but I don't know any, personally.
I won't get this particular treatment seeing that apparently a filler yields similar results. On top of that, I don't have 6000 lying around, you know? Maybe with pluripotent stem cells they can do a lot more but until then, I think I'll look into different things.
Who does Marko know who does this treatment?
My understanding there is 2 options - 1. Dr Khan in London or Dr Choi in Vancouver.
Dr Khan charges A6500 for Stem Cells and im guessing around A5000 for PRP. Dr Choi charges $200 for PRP and Fraxel. Why the big difference? This confuses me.
I have still yet to make an appointment to see Dr Khan. I want to get all the facts straight before I schedule an appointment.
Dr. Borko B. Djordjevic is the doctor Marko was referring to. He's in Montenegro:

If I remember correctly, he offered it for free. Talk about a price difference. But that was only after Marko had already payed for other treatments. You can read about it a few pages back.

yup that's it, altho i dont know anyone who has done it yet for acne scarring here....so i am very skeptical and doubtfull...but , I may be wrong....
Does anyone happen to know the name of the Chinese (?) Dr. Bulgarian Dermatologist posted pictures (of stem cell injections) from in the beginning of this thread? It would be interesting to read up on information/(translated) publications from this Dr.
EDIT: Never mind, I misread the question. Sorry.
I also made contact with one doctor in Vienna ( http://www.ddrheinrich.com/ ), who did stem cell injections on Madonna just to see what options you guys have other then comming here in Montenegro. But , in my opinion the price is waaay to high, even if he said (but I am not very convinced) that it will work on acne scarring. Price range is from 7500 to 15000 euros!!!! I mean....damn! Even if I had worst imaginable scarring, I dont think I could ever afford this to myself....and on the other side, get temporary results....than I would definitely consider killing myself lol
anyway, I spoke again with Doctor Channing regarding silicone injections, and she guaranteed to me that silicone is safe, very precise (more than restylane), and that I have her word I will get improovement in depressed areas. I really dont want to bother her anymore, so i finally decided, in summer I am packing my bags and off to NY.
Marko, do you have any pics of your scarring? I had silicone microdroplet done twice with Dr. Alkek in Texas and really saw no results. I have been thinking of going to a different doctor for more, but will wait till I get more money. You really should build up slow with this stuff as too much can cause your body to form granulomas and can cause lumps. I wonder if my scars were just not right for this. They do go away when stretched which is a sign you can do filler the doc said. I think silicone is a good option as there is practically no down time, just many repeat visits will be needed which will get expensive when you have to fly in to New York. I'm in Missouri now, so I would have to fly to Texas to get it with Dr. Lam

Hi Tricia. thanx for your answer. I do have topic with pics of my scars, you can see it HERE
last pictures i posted represent the scars i would reaaaally like to get rid of....as my skin looks better each day since i had this chemical peel, but some of depressions are still there and i would like to get rid of them
Dear All,
I have been quietly reading all the posts on acne.org for about a year now and this is my first post. I too suffer from scarring on my face and I am thinking of having stem cell treatment with dr khan in harley street.
I saw dr khan last week and he was a lovely genuine doctor and he went through the stem cell treatment option with me. I left his place feeling pretty happy and content. My only concern was the cost. I do agree that the cost for stem cell treatment is very high and it is a lot to pay, but if it can achieve great results, i guess it will be worth it. After my appointment, I had more questions to ask, and I emailed dr khan and he gave me a call instantly and answered all of my questions.
The appointment with dr khan was free of charge. I am thinking over having stem cell treatment with him and if I decide to do so, I will create a new thread with my pictures before and after. I will update my pictures every week. I know lots of you out there are considering stem cell treatment and are unsure, but I believe this is the way forward.
One of my primary concerns was that a few people have commented that stem cells would only last up to 1 year. I questioned dr khan about this and he told me that when he has used stem cells for breast scars, the results have lasted for over 3 years and he has no reason to doubt it would be the same for facial scars. He also told me that although there are no guarantees with any treatment, he still expects a minimum of 80% improvement in total with my scars and this is a minimum. He does not recommend using fraxel, just stem cells to start with and then we monitor after 3 months.
I did my research on this board and I believe dr khan is the best doctor offering this treatment and he is getting great results. He has treated around 50 patients in total for facial scars and so far he has had positive results with every patient, so he must be doing something right.
I am trying to get the funds together for his treatment and if I do go ahead, I will make a new post so all of you can follow my story.
Regards,
Faizal

3 years? so this is a temporary procedure? is it all absorbed or does any of it stay in place?
Doctor uses stem cells to fill cancer scars
I had a follow up consultation with dr khan yesterday and will be getting the PRP treatment in march to help the stem cells along. I had a chance to look at pictures of my scarring before the stem cell treatment and I actually forgot how bad it was. There is a huge improvement in the overall condition of my skin. Maybe not as much as I first thought right after the treatment because that may have been swelling but looking back, my skin looks so much better now. Hopefully after the PRP it will look even better

That's great news! Swelling can indeed be sorta misleading. I had the same experience when I had my laser treatments. Anyway, I'm glad things aren't as bad as you thought they were. 🙂
So this whole stem cell thing ... is it a filler or does it actually get rid of the scar tissue and generate new skin, collagen , elastin etc. I got my hopes up about this treatment but from what ive read this just seems like an expensive filler that only last around 3 years. i wanted something that actually gets rid of the underlying cause of the scars and not just something to temporarly 'mask' teh scars .
BRD if you still read this thread can you tell us what results your patients ahve been getting ... when do you think you will be able to send me the before and after photos as i do want to get this treatment done as long as its not just some kind of filler
