Does anyone know if apple cider vinegar makes your skin sensitive to the sun?

I just started using ACV yesterday, and if what people say are true, I hope it will rid my red marks forever!

I've been tolerant of these red marks for far too long! I want to be able to walk out the door without having to put on make up.

Just overnight I could see the improvements on my skin. The redness of my skin because it's normal color.

My skin is fairly oily and now it doesn't get as oily.

I've been drinking it too, I think i'm one of the few who actually likes the taste. It tastes like apple juice to me! But it hurts my throat when i swallow it.

I'll post back if it's working for me

you should really dilute it with water, it's a strong acid and can fuck up your teeth's enamel and esophagus if you drink it straight.

i've been taking acv, and flax seed as tablets for about 4 days and my redness hasn't gone away yet, my skin is noticeably nicer looking though. feels smoother and looks kind of shiny, in a good way.

I've just got ACV tablets, will start using them and let you know. Are they ok to take in conjunction with all the creams I'm using for my acne lol (BP and Retin-A)?

Woah so it's been five days or so, and my red marks are fading out !

Though it does make my face a little dry, but my face doesn't reduce much oil anymore.

I'm going to use extra virgin olive oil to moisterize my face (:

Buy pills of it and take one with every meal.... I think that's much easier than drinking it. I would do it topically but I already use so much stuff on my face I'd rather just take the pill.

^^ how would taking a pill help the skin?

Aren't you supposed to apply it on the skin so it works on the outer layers? I don't understand how taking pills would help in any way!?!

Well people drink it and get similar results. So a pill is the same. I guess topical application is the quickest to work though.

I wouldn't do the pills, they're not as effective as reported by others. And from what I've read. Drink ACV to reduce acne, apply it on skin to reduce red marks.

I just don't understand how taking pills would reduce marks on the surface?!

Also -- those who have used ACV on skin for a few months --- how effective is it really? Do you honestly see a difference?

I have not tried it and am thinking of giving it a shot - so any responses would be much appreciated

Well taking the ACV pills has definitely made my skin visibly smoother, and if that's happening then there's potential for collagen and all that affecting the redness - but whatever, it's clearly just me lol.

My next red mark war is using a combination of stuff recommended by someone on here involving AHA and Ambi Fade cream... but if that fails then I am definitely going to try topical ACV.

Quick question about ACV - I just started taking it orally, but as far as using it on my face as a toner, when should I do it? My routine is basically the DKR, wash with cleanser in the morning, then apply BP and then moisturizer, and at night I'll wash with cleanser and then do BP. Every now and then I'll use an aspirin mask to help exfoliate before I use the cleanser and BP. Or, if I'll spot treat by using just a small amount of aspirin dissolved in water and leave it on overnight.

Anyways, what I was wondering was when exactly to use the ACV as a toner? Before washing? After washing but before BP? After BP? Should I leave it on? Any help is appreciated - thanks!

for those constantly asking when to put on the ACV toner

there are three reasonable choices

ONE

Before you wash your face, but you have to leave it on for about 15 minutes before you wash your face. (this is the one I do)

I can't stand knowing my face will smell if any water gets on it so I do this

TWO

If you are brave enough to face the world when water hits your face and it smells really bad then you can put it on before you put on BP, remember to wait about 15 minutes so it will dry.

THREE

some people I've read will just put it on at night AFTER they wash their face and then sleep with it on.

seriously, I REALLY DOUBT IT MATTERS WHEN YOU PUT IT ON YOUR FACE. JUST PUT IT ON YOUR FACE if you want to try it. STOP asking how would you incorporate it into your regimen.

and YES. DO continue with whatever your regimen was before just add another step to it.

So um, before I used to say that the ACV tastes like juice, but that was because it was an asian apple cider vinegar... the american one is nasty, and I see why you guys don't like it.

After having great success with apple cider vinegar tablets, I've written a Hub page to spread the word. ACV is not only cheap, but effective. It's been a God send for our family.

wow really?? you guys dont wash it off??? I do and my acv is in a 50:50 ratio because my skin is already prone to dryness + I don't like the smell at all, I leave it on for 10 min. I also use baking soda before as a paste and then wash it off (I heard it balances the pH of your skin)then wash it off. However every now and then I put 100% acv on and leave it for 5 min. but I really hate that smell, and I only do it at night. But I really do like the results of it so I will keep it up.

Has anyone tried this at night with 50/50 mix but also applying AHA?

Use Stop and Shop brand or any other brand besides Heinz if you can ... I noticed in the S&S brand the smell is much more mild but has the same effect as the more expensive Heinz brand. I actually had to throw out my Heinz bottle the smell was too awful.

I can't believe how much this thread has grown :)

I have been on a hiatus for what 2 - 3 years now. I had a baby so I basically threw skin care out the window. I recently purchased Dan's BP, Moisturizer and AHA I love all of it :).

I still use ACV from time to time but it hasn't been the red marks that have bee bothering me it is the acne :/ So I need to take care of that first.

I hope ACV has worked well for those suffering from red marks.

Is there anything wrong with applying ACV right after I wash my face without letting my face completely dry? I don't see why not since the ACV is diluted with water.

Hello, My names Anne

Im a African Black Girl and i dont have any spots any more or anything spot related, i only have acne scars that are like a dark brown/Balckish colour.

Will using ACV really work to reduce the apperance of these dark bits?

Thanks :surprised:

one of your photos makes me LOL

your like "small cyst on chin"

its a tiny tiny tiny white head.

do you know what a cyst actually is?

it deforms your face and leaves a nasty scar

but congrats in getting what you regard as perfect skin. you have great skin, from the beginning to now
