What kind of ACV do you guys use?Organic or regular?

What advantages does the organic have over regular(Besides that it's organic )

Wow ACV sounds great. I'll try it, but can somebody help me figure out exactly how to apply it?

Does it replace my twice a day gentle cleanser? Or do I do it after cleansing? And do I wash it off after some time or leave it on or put a moisturizer over it or what?

Basically I have no idea what I'm doing, so any explanation is appreciated, because ACV sounds like it would be really good for me.

Thanks!

I saw many good reviews on ACV toner and tried. However, it didn't work for me. Initially, I was using Cetaphil then BP then moisturizer + sunblock in the morning. I had dried skin but never flaky. Then I saw there was a thread which uses Baking Soda + Cetaphil to wash and ACV as toner, so I tried. Many many good results from this regimen. So I tried.

After washing my face with Baking Soda, my face felt soft, but when I added ACV as a toner, my skin got very tied. Although I washed it off after 10 mins, my face continued to get drier and on day 2 of the same regimen, my face started to flake. After seeing my flaky skin on day 2, I decided that this regimen does not suit me. May be I quit too early but I can't go on with flaky face. So uncomfortable and I felt my skin was so irritated.

But I like the baking soda part, so I continued. It means I washed my face with Baking Soda + Cetaphil and remove the ACV toner step, it actually worked on me. I understand I needed ACV to balance my skin PH but it seem that my face does better without ACV toner. So I guess different people have results differently. All the flakes were gone after day 1. I am only on day 2 using baking soda + cetaphil today. I hope this good result can get better. I will update here at acne.org.

I understand leaving the ACV on your skin. I'll be doing this everyday.

Will the ACV itself dry me out?

Also, will i have to use this for every day of my life? Or does the ACV do a permanent job?

Ooh hey there! =D looks like it's worth a try LOL. I have alot of hyperpigmentation (At least I think that's what it is, I know it's not pimples just brown spots kinda thing), so do you think it would work in the shower kinda thing? Guess it wouldn't hurt to try, especially since we have a few bottles in the cupboard! :P!

It seems like this thread kind of died, but I would like to post my progress with ACV in hopes of maybe helping other people.

After using Proactiv this summer, I had the biggest breakout of my life. Tons of small flesh coloured bumps on my forehead, which got enflamed everytime I washed them. I'm still unsure whether theyre acne, or folliculitis, but I'll post in here anyways.

I started using ACV both topically (mixed 75% water, with 25% ACV) and also orally (1 tablespoon ACV to a cup of water) and have been doing both twice a day. (Actually, I've been putting on the toner maybe five or six times a day.)

So far, after three or four days of this:

---It at least took all the redness out of my forehead and nose, which I'd say makes it look 50% better.

---It seems to be making my few cysts (which come out on my period) shrink down and heal quite a lot faster than they usually do. Also, I don't have any NEW cysts since starting this, and no new bumps to be seen.

---Whitehead-wise, I'm not sure how its doing...there seem to be a few more little marks on my cheeks comming up, but that could be do to anything.

---Also, my skin is glowing. The tone is very nice, and I know this is do to a combination of the ACV, and the flaxseed oil I just started taking.

So far I haven't been putting any chemicals on my face. In fact I'm only washing it now once a day with a very gentle organic cleanser, and applying the ACV solution maybe every hour or half hour. (Whatevers convenient when I'm at home) I find this is the best way to tackle my super sensitive, inflammatory skin.

Anyways, I will report back every few days or weeks to tell you how it goes. If it helps me, then I am sure it can help other people.

Also if there's any questions about how I'm applying, or mixing the ACV or flaxseed oil, just ask!

Day 8 of ACV and flaxseed regimen;

-Skin tone is improved greatly overall. My skin is now glowing like it never was before.

-Bumps on forehead seem to be less, though theyre mostly still there. The ACV has taken all the redness out of them though, so they're not noticable.

-I started to get a few little red dots along my cheeks after I started using this, and I assume it was an initial breakout from a new product. Now the red dots are going away, except one that is looking a little inflamed...however I assume the skin is just purging the nasties.

-Cysts (from my period) completely flat, all of them came to a head in about a day. Now the red marks left are healing up quite nicely, and are mostly unnoticable.

-Bumps that are usually on my temples are gone, which gives me great hope.:)

All in all, I am liking what my ACV/ Flaxseed regimen is doing for my skin. It looks sooo healthy, and although it isn't totally bump free, I will remain hopeful. I think I went through a bit of a purging period in the first few days, and now it seems to be getting better (Except that one bump!

) Anyways, I will post back in another fews days!

Hi, this is a question for the people that have used ACV for a long time and have got some good results from it. What happens when you stop using the ACV all of a sudden? Do the results remain the same, or does your skin go back to the bad way it looked before?

Day 11 of Flaxseed Oil and ACV regimen;

-Skin tone continues to look great. My skin is really glowing now.

-The nasty looking cyst I had popping up on my cheek the other day pretty quickly came to a head and I popped it easily. Now it's on its way out.!

-Little bumps on forehead seem to be drying up. Not positive, but I'm thinking they're folicullitis, as I've found some similar little bumps on my leg and stomach....I will try ACV on there too.

-Red marks from the cysts I got on my last period are still fading, only one of them is still noticable, but really not bad at all.

Okay, I will report back again in a few days!

Also...to Jon2689... from what I've read on here, people have tried cutting out ACV from their regimen because they didn't believe that it could have been the ACV keeping their skin clear. After they cut it out, they started to get some more breakouts and realized it was the ACV that had been working. So I assume once you stop using it, the pimples might come back.

*Day 19*- ACV, and Flaxseed regimen.

-Skin looking much clearer now.

-Closed comodones or follicullitis (whatever it was) on my forehead is almost all gone.

-Been having a few little minor whiteheads here and there, but they're tiny and unnoticable.

-Skin is glowing.

-No new cysts since I started this. (The true test will be during my period in a few weeks.;))

All in all, my skin is definetly looking clearer, and I think it will continue to clear up. I've stopped all other topicals other than washing my face every other day with a really mild cleanser. I have also been occaisionally applying some tea tree oil (I love the stuff) so this could be aiding in clearing my skin.

I will report back in another week!

[*]I mix my own facial toner using 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and a few aspirin.

Hi, I'm sorry for being such a dope but can you be more specific? 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar in cups? And a few aspirin, as to how many in exact? Thanks!

I just got my ACV on Saturday and use it every night as a toner (I leave it on) after I exfoliate.

Before Application:

About 2 pimples

Many red marks (brownish in color VERY dark)

First Day after Night Application (Sunday):

+5-10 red pimples

Marks turned dark purple color (VERY hard to apply make-up over)

Skin tone not improved

Second Day (Monday):

Pimples slowly shrinking, maybe one or two gone.

Marks still dark purple

Skin tone slightly improved

Third Day (Tuesday):

Pimples gone after application of Salicylic Acid after ACV last night

Non-Inflamed acne purging through

Skin tone nicer

Marks turning pinkish-light brown and shrinking in size SLOWLY

Do you mix the tea tree oil with the acv or do them seperatly?

i've been drinking acv for two months and i dont think it has helped that much because i am breaking out on my cheeks and chin and it hasn't done anything for me.

I want to try it on my face at night as a toner to balance ph and stuff i gues

should i try mixing it with green tea?

Also i assume it should be refrigerated..?

I use tazorac .05% at night will that conflict with using acv

^ i think it'd be a great idea for morning/night diluted with water, 50/50. and maybe twice a week you can use the toner method at night..

id also keep drinking it too, or you could try lemon instead for your drink and keep the ACV for the daily/night application

im not sure what mixing it with green tea would do, but id recommend starting with just ACV/Water, if that doesnt work then add the green tea later, just so you know what is and what isnt working.

and i see no reason why it should be refrigerated, the stuff is sitting quite happily in the salad isle at room temp! the cider is already preserved as is is my guess.

...now ive completely forgot what i had to ask haha
