I've browsed this forum for some time, but I felt the need to finally register.I have to thank the original poster for providing the wealth of information on Apple Cider Vinegar, how to apply it and its inherent health benefits. I started using it as of yesterday afternoon, and I can already feel that my skin isn't as oily and feels a bit tighter. I'm drinking 2 TBSP (1 oz/30 mL) of ACV three times a day with plenty of water as well as liberally applying a 1:1 water-ACV mixture to my face four to five times daily. I'm sorry if this has already been covered (as helpful as this thread is, I don't really have the time to flip through 72 pages of replies,) but I was immediately turned off to ACV by its taste. I used a straw at first, doing the best I could to not let any of it hit my teeth but it felt like it was burning the back of my throat. I did a little searching online and found an answer that works great: adding 1/4 TSP (teaspoon, not tablespoon) of baking soda to your ACV/water drink. Doing this not only raises the pH of the ACV to a safe level where it won't erode your enamel, but it also makes it taste much better. It makes it taste a little like beer (although I'm 18, don't/won't drink and hate beer, it's better than it is normally.) Adding baking soda also makes the vinegar fizz like crazy, so it makes things fun too. 😆 Be careful not too add too much baking soda though, otherwise you can start belching (and ridding of gas in other ways) uncontrollably, and if you add enough you'll be sure to bring up breakfast (i.e. vomit.)
I can't wait to start seeing results. It's not that I have bad acne, I just have a lot of red marks on my cheeks and jaw. I could also stand to lose a pound or two, but that's just me. In the morning and evening I use OXY's Maximum Strength face pads after the ACV dries.
Again, I extend my deepest thanks to the topic starter and wish the best of luck to the rest of you. If I kicked a dead horse with this, I'm sorry.
I found that adding ACV to Apple Juice or Apple Cider makes the ACV taste disappear can't taste it at all.
Be careful with drinking it. Do not BRUSH YOUR TEETH immediately afterwards this will erode your enamel. Your best bet is to swish youe Baking Soda afterwards and then maybe after and hour it would be safe to brush your teeth.
Those of your drinking it I highly recommend doing some research on acidic drinks and how to prevent enamel loss.
4. I still occasionally break out usually hormones so I currently useTea Tree Oil, Benzoyl Peroxide. Yes TTO is better then BP to me because it doesn't dry your skin out as much or interfere with the healing process, but I am pregnant and I cannot use TTO anymore. [/left]This was my process with TTO ~ I applied TTO diluted with water, usually between 10 - 15 drops in a shot glass filled less then half way with water. I wait until my face is completely dry, then apply ACV wait until it is dry, Moisturize and I am done.(for BP users)After shower (or anytime day or night) apply the ACV Toner and wait until it is completely dried on your face, apply BP and wait 15min. Next moisturize!HMMMM...
Do you normally apply a cleanser before ACV?
I recently been using a bp wash as a cleanser...Do you suggest I should change to a regular cleanser?
and a question about the green tea...does green tea help with anything else besides with wrinkles? like anything acne related?
much thanks
Do some research on Green Tea I remember reading it was beneficial for acne but it was so long ago I don't remember the facts.
I would not use any acne medicated washes bc they are a huge waste of money. The BP or SA in the products has absolutely no time to absorb into your skin so it really doesn't help to much. Use Purpose Cleanser or their Soap its recommended by Dan and I have used it with no bad side effects.
wow thank you so much Rebecca. I've been using Proactiv for a while with mediocre results, but I still had a lot of red marks and my cheeks were always red and I just wasnt satisfyed with my skin. But now I'm using your ACV treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide and Its really cheap, and it works so much better than Proactiv. Thank you for taking your time to type out all that information, it helped me out so much.
I just have one question; you mentioned something about drinking the ACV, does that help with acne or is it just a fun fact type thing?
i have done this diluted with water 50/50 and it doesnt seem to have that much results. I done it for a week or so. Should i just do pure apple cider vinegar now since my skin can take it? Did using just ACV alone and not combining it with water help the red marks better than say mixing both 50/50?
Hello.
Thanks for the sharing with us your tip.I am happy it worked out for you.
I would like to clarify some things..
How long did you start seeing the results? This would give some of us an expectation of at least when results would start occurring.I know some results defer in time span and when they start to show.
Also, can your method help 'obliterate' our scars.Through consistent usage? The known scars that is.Also how long will it take for the scars to start fading till they disappear(If that is possible).
Finally, I recently tried using ACV with lemon and well, though I cant see results yet.For obvious reasons, I just started and I hope with enough consistency my efforts and your method will pull off and succeed. Thus giving many people a chance to gain back their lost confidence or original god given skin. No, I do not expect a miracle.I have given up on hoping for miracles.I can only hope that with effort and god's help.Everything might go well.
Back to the final chapter.
Just recently I noticed and felt that the ACV and lemon actually is taking away the skin on the surface.Shall I say it causes some parts of my skin(certain areas not all)to reveal the raw skin underneath.Though I only found about 4 of this 'revelations'.I was wondering if this is supposed to be happening. It is actually quite painful and it takes about and hour for the stinging to subside. Is this just a phase We/I have to go through.Should I stop for awhile and continue once the skin heals or do i continue.I am just scared the process might make my skin sensitive. Please tell me if there is anything I should be doing or not be doing.
Alas, the baking soda where should I get it and can the eggs you talk about in the facial mask can be ordinary eggs gotten from the market.
I am sorry for taking up your time.
I apologize if in the future I might pose more questions like this.
Forgive me but I am so desperate to get back the skin I used to have.I am sure some of us who are going through this wish the same thing.
Its strange how some of us do not bother or care about our god given skin until this things happen and make us realize how much we should have treasured it then.
Yours truly,
Richard.Nishimura.
I can't give you a specific time frame because I use it somedtimes 5x a day and by the next day I can alrdy see a difference. So I am not going to give you a time frame bc that wouldnt be fair or accurate.
Also what do you mean by scars? like pitted scars from acne or like a scar from a scratch? I do not have any acne scars so I am sorry I can't answer that question. You are best looking in the Scar Forum for answers.
ACV + Lemon is not a good idea and I have never suggested it. Choose one or the other not both. Both are way to acidic and that is why your skin is peeling bc you are burning it. The ACV + Water is diluted enough so it won't harm your sxkin but strong enough to exfoliate your face without having yhour skin peel.
Also don't use Baking Soda on your face it is very abd for your skin being alkaline. Alkaline products create forf acne bc acne only live under alkaline conditions. The acid in the ACV kills the bacteria bc acne bacteria cannot survive in acidic condiyions. I only recommended baking soda if you plan on drinking ACV bc acid in your mouth will wear away your enamel so rinsing with baking soda and water afterwards will help stop enamel loss.
I just have used egg whites to tighten my skin but it dcoesnt do anything for redmarks.

could you confirm this?
giving this a try now.
Done it a couple of times and dare i say i see some minor results. i think my blackheads are healing and the new pimple type thingys arent as red as before. IS THIS THE CURE I HAVE BEEN HOPING FOR!!?!?!?!?!?!? IS IT!!!!?!?!?!? LOL
my small question is the use of AHA peels while doing this, if i stop using ACV a day or so away from a peel would that be Ok? Or would it result in a cataclysmic face explosion?
Hi.Again.
I am hoping for a reply to my absurdly long questions.Forgive my ignorance on this kind of stuff but it may be better if someone more experienced helped me then me helping myself.I am desperate.Ladies and Gentlemen.Desperate.
Have a nice day.
Take care
You got a reply at the bottom of the last page lol
You even got the thread starter to help, as in the expert!!! If shes an expert.....

Thanks for the reply.Though most of my questions were not able to get answered fully, I thank you for noticing and taking the time to reply.I believe mine to be pitted scars.I have no idea what you mean by scratch scars.
Also I notice little bumps appearing on my forehead. Is this supposed to be happening?
Thanks
The answer is probably in this thread somewhere but its too huge to read right through. My question is, does the effectivness of ACV stop after using it for a while?
I use it now with green tea and aspirin and have had awesome results in skin texture, blackheads and red marks.

Remedy Number Two: Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) can be purchased in most supermarkets, such as Walmart, and it has been recently advertised as a weight loss cure. However, many acne sufferers use apple cider vinegar to diminish stubborn acne marks--or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The application is simple: use a cotton ball to apply a solution of two parts water to two parts apple cider vinegar to the affected areas of the skin and rub for one to two minutes every morning and night.
As early as one week into the treatment, a noticeable reduction of pseudo acne scars should be noted. (Since post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks are not indented scars in a sense that they disappear over time, they are often referred to as pseudo acne scars.)
Skin tightening and greater overall texture are the acquired results with this simple, yet effective Apple Cider Vinegar treatment.
Very informative website.
About 2 months ago I got a bunch of whitehead breakouts, differin seems to have stopped new ones very well but im left with a bunch of ~2mm red spots, they arent raised or indented spots, just red. I think I will try this. Do you drink it or apply it with a swab, or both? I think I will try drinking it first and if that does nothing Ill swab it on. 2-4 tspns in a glass of water once a day is a good way to start? Thanks.
