I have sensitive skin as well and ive been using the ACV as a toner (with half water) at night for about 2 weeks, i haven't noticed much improvement in red marks yet but i think my skin is softer. The first time i tried it i just put it on for about 15 mins then washed it off and my skin was fine the morning after, so ive just left it on all night since then, i make sure i moisturise lots after as well.

Wow, I can't believe how many posts there are about ACV! I'm really glad. I couldn't even read them all. ACV is great, if I can just add my two cents. Definitely use it at as a toner, I would say every time you wash (I do it twice a day). Do NOT wash it off. You CAN use it straight, but try it 50:50 with water first bc a few people have said it burns. The fumes hurt my eyes when I first use it but it's not big deal. Also, don't complain about the smell, you only smell for literally a minute. Also, it is REALLY IMPORTANT to drink it. I don't see people talking as much about this, but seriously, you need to drink it. If you just try to fix your problem topically it isn't enough, ACV does so much good for the body. It helps with weight loss, digestion, getting rid of body toxins, and balancing the skin's PH. I drink it at least two times a day, usually three. I only dilute it with a LITTLE bit of water. People complain about the taste but I actually really like it, and yeah that's weird, but whatever. If you are the kind of person who likes the taste of vinegar on your salad you might like it too! You can also put it in lots of things, you only need to drink like, 2 table spoons at a sitting. Put it in lots of water, hot tea, iced tea, whatever. I have only been doing this for two weeks and it is really helping me. I'll try to put pics up after I've been doing it a little longer. I have heard of a FEW people who said ACV didn't work for them and they used balsamic vinegar instead. That seems weird, but they said it worked cuz it had 8% acidity as opposed to 5%. But you wouldn't have to drink that. Also, sound people keep mentioning something about hard apple cider... that is NOT what we are talking about, people. Apple cider vinegar-- something you find in the grocery story. Not something you're getting wasted on during cold winter nights. Okay? But everyone should really try it.

Thanks for that! I'll start drinking it as well!

When I apply the ACV to my face with the 1:1 mixture it literally starts dripping off my face because the cottonball can't absorb that much. Is this normal?

I realize that I cannot smell the ACV after a few minutes of it being on my face. But does it have a really strong smell that others can smell around it? Because, it's very easy to get used to smells to the point that you don't smell them anymore. Just wondering if that is what is happening here.

Also, the reason why using two forms of an AHA at once like using ACV and 8% or 10% GA is because that is wayyy to much exfoliation. If you exfoliate yopur skin too much you lose the barrier of your skin, which is for moisturizing. Hence, your skin will lose all suppleness and wrinkle.

I wish I had found this out sooner but it's too late now. Before I was using this ACV toner with AHA souffle twice a day and I noticed my face aging a little. I've stopped and yet to see my skin go back to normal.

Honestly it may take months for your skin to recooperate. How long were you doing this?

It took me a few months to see a difference in my skin after over exfoliation. People really need to understand that the more exfoliation is certainly not good I know you all are impatient but you will only exacerbate the problem causing your skin to lack and retain hydration hence making your redmarks last even longer and probobly have oilier skin bc now your skin has to work twice a shard trying to get back the moisture barrier you inadvertently removed.

I'm starting this today and I'm drinking this stuff too.

a question though my skin is very sensitive and I was going to do this, put it on my skin leave it for 5 mins or so then jump in the shower, will this work? or do you have to leave it on your skin, will a shower wash it off too much??

does your face have to be wet and cleansed before you apply it?

whats the best way to get results, i dont like the idea of leaving it on overnight though.

Washing it off woulf be pointless .. ti would be liek putting on BP and then 5min going to take a shower.

If your skin is sensitive then I suggest using more water in the mixture, but 50/50 is pretty diluted so you may want to try that first.

Leaving it on is essential so that it can absorb into your skin properly. If you do not and just wash your face even after 20min you will see no results. Hence leaving it on all day and all night is imperative.

I seem to be getting some whiteheads from this also. Am I doing something wrong?

Probobly everyone will breakout form this there first week bc initially this is a shock to your skin and its way of coping is forming a breakout. After a week your pimples should subside, heal quickly and leave no noticeable redmarks.

The other day I washed my face, put on my ACV and then went to my sister and said "Smell my face. Can you smell anything at all?" And she said no. I said "are you SURE? You don't smell anything, like vinegar?" And she said she couldn't smell anything at all. So I'm pretty sure the smell just fades as soon as you put it on.

I usually smell like weed, so ACV covers that. And it taste really good to drink, but thats probably because I'm high when I drink it.

thanks,

2 more questions:

1) if i wanted to mix in aspirin, how many tablets to how much mixture?

2) does the green tea affect the ACV at all, because i really liked how my skin felt after a day on ACV...and i don't wanna screw anything up.

{EDIT} And would i have to store this in the refrige if i put green tea in it?

I'm sure this has been asked, but i've only read through the first 10 pages here, there's a bit much to get through. Is it ok to use this on acne, or should I just use it on the red marks? Also, people have mentioned that it balances your PH level because most skin prodcuts are alkaline, however, I don't really use any other products other than aloe vera cream. Is this going to unbalance my ph level? i.e. make it to acidic rather than alkali? If that makes sense.

Cheers.

you want your skin acidic not alkaline. Check online for the pH of aloe vera. Few products are pH balanced and if they don't say it I assume they aren't.

Yes ACV does clear up acne and alot of the reason ppl have acne is bc their pH balance is off on their skin making it a breeding ground for bacteria. Plus I have noticed that ACV dries up the acne as well and pushes out my blackheads so I have to just exfoliate them out with a pedicure brush.

I figured that the GT and ACV would be a great mixture bc both are extremely beneficial to the skin and if you haven't noticed there are soo mnay hair/nail/skin products with added GT. GT is acidic I believe I found stuff about it online if u check maybe 4 or 5 pages back, water is alkaline but by using GT and ACV it would dilute that anyways. Yes, if you do plan on using GT it must be stored in the frige just like any tea mix.

I cannot tell you how mnay tablets it depends on how much ACV mix you are using. If you use an empty astringent bottle then I suggest 3 oe 4 would be enough. And the ACV dissolved the aspirin so there is no need for crushing or mixing in water before.

Most good natural skin cleanser, moisturizers and hair conditioners have a pH level between 3.5 and 5.5 which is close the pH level of the skin or hair. While most natural shampoos have a pH level over eight, which is much more alkaline then that of the skin or hair.

^ One reason why ACV definitely is beneficial.

Here is an excellent product http://www.kissmyface.com/ all of which are pH balanced.

To buy them I would go here http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.asp...1000091+2008015 bc everything at Vitacost is like 20 - 80% off everyday. www.GNC.com also sells Kiss My Face but if you aren't a gold card member you wont get the 20% off.

Do you just splash it on and let it dry?

Anyone use it as aftershave?

Thanks for the tips. Been using it for a few days now and tbh I seem to have broken out more, but i'll keep at it.

Would you reccommend I use a moisturiser, bearing in mind I don't usually bother. I've been using aloe vera cream for the last 2 weeks but thats a cream and i'm a bit worried its going to make my skin worse - i've had qute a bad break out since using it. I'd like to not have to use a moisturiser if possible, don't know if its really necessary?

Cheers.

Creams are not very good for your skin IMO bc they are so thick and chances are have more comdogenic properties. If I were you buy Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Healing bc it is Fragrance Free. Its very cheap and very effective and is not greasy whatsoever.

http://www.walgreens.com/search/search_res...+intensive+care you can buy it there or at CVS

You should use a moisturizer bc the ACV may make your skin dry or atleast seem dry to you bc it helps lessen oil production so def. buy that brand. It may not be specifically for your face but IMO facial moisutirzers are just a bunch of junk and are incrfedibly small and expensive if I ever buy a moisutrizer just for my face it will probobly be Dan's bc I trust him. I've bought so many just 4 your face and none do whatthey say they claim, I officially gave up after buying Garnier's Serum Moisturizer for your face yea it did nothing. Sure it is a good moisturizer but its so small and 13$ so just get the Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Healing its cheap comes in a big bottle and you can use it all over your body and face. Plus I have also noticed that alot of the facial moisturizers are very greasy mostly bc of the added SPF and with VIC you don't have to worry about any excess grease.

Id imagine it would burn and sting incredibly if you put it on right after shaving.

I am really excited about this ACV treatment. I have been using it for 5 days and already I have noticed some fading of my redmarks, although my face did get a little burn during the first few days.

One question: Is it a problem if I still use a BP cream after applying the vinegar toner? What I do is after applying the vinegar I will let it dry, then I will apply Dan's BP medication to my face.

Does that cancel out the ACV effects or are they ok to use together?
