I just started using ACV again. I wasn't suing it because I am pregnant and for about 3 or 4 months my acne was kinda bad and it obviously was hormonal so BP and ACV wouldn't have made a huge difference ... plus I just wasn't thinking about my skin at the time.

Anyways I have applied ACV few times today and over the past 5 hours or so I alrdy can see a difference with the few pimples I have. This morning they wre just slighlty red and no white head but now the head is almost at the surface which is great bc I know they will be gone very soon. I can't quite put my finger on it but obviously something in ACV brings gunk to the surface of the skin which is a great thing bc the sooner it gets to the surface the faster it will heal and be done with.

Anyone noticed this? With blackheads? and pimples?

PS. I have read ACV also reduces the appearance of varicose veins ... well on the bridge of my nose and around my nostrils I have noticed these small purple extremely thin veins appearing .. so I hope ACV will help .. but does anyone know why I have them? What causes them? - Broken Capillaries I believe they are called.

I noticed this. Do we pop them when the pimple becomes large and white? or do we just let it pop itself?

As for the cause of broken capillaries, i believe that is genetic. I found this for you :

leave them bc popping = redmark ... if I were you I would invest in a synthetic brush you cna buy them at KMart it wooden. I use it when I noticed blackheads at the surface or white heads this way I am not squeezing just exfoliating my vface in the shower. The exfoliation and hot water help getting all the stuff thats on the surface out. Just soak the brush in hot wtaer for about 10 - 15 min before getting in the shower bc the bristles are rough .. also don't do this more then once a week.

Ugh the things I am going through for this little man inside me ...

Broken Capillaries:

hormonal fluctuations (puberty, pregnancy, menopause);

pregnancy (increase in the amount of blood in the body, causing vein enlargement)

Thank you for the website .. I guess thats way they have become more prominent. Hereditary may have soemthing to do with it also.

Yep, pregnancy may be it!

I think I made a mistake by popping two that turned white. Oh well, I guess i'll hope the ACV to clear those redmarks to come.

Also, when you said you just used ACV, did you use it without mixing any water? I'm going to try 50/50 for the next few weeks, but I have quite a bit of red marks (more than you had) so I think i need a stronger concentration.

I only suggest starting off with 50/50 just top introduct your skin to ir afterwards like within a week or so you can try full strength but even for me after using it and then stopping I have to dilute it I can't use full strength yet bc it burns. Actually yesterday I guess I didn't dilute it enough and the sides of my face turned re dlike I had a sunburn so be careful.

I've had a couple of persistant pimples that are red right now and I am spot treating them with 100% ACV without dilution. So far so good; i'll update everyone on how its coming along.

Here is a great website that talks about what is in ACV exactly and all the different ailements it can help and it gives a good description as to why.

http://www.ageless.co.za/200102_february.htm

Also, this is a very good brand of ACV bc it is unfiltered and organic -- http://www.bragg.com/products/applecidervinegar.html

Just like to add something that has seemed to increase the benefits a little - keeping the wet cotton pad over trouble areas of the skin for a few seconds - letting the ACV soak into those areas more.

good luck!

so just thought id put in my 2 cents..

i used to swear by this stuff.. told all my friends to use it and stuff..

ive been using it for almost a year now, it worked really well at first

last month i added Sudocrem into my reg, and stopped with the ACV

and my skin has improved drastically since then.

im not saying ACV does not work, just wasnt for me i guess

:wacko:

Sudocrem is hard to get seeing as it is only sold in Europe .. plus I don't have a paypal account and I doubt any other people here do seeing as most are underaged.

ummmm...i visited about 3-4 different stores and they all had it? Walmart? Shoppers Drugmart? Sobeys? Safeway? London Drugs?

<CANADA>

I'm not driving to Canada do get Sudocrem. If you live in the US the only way is to buy it off a website from europe .. i can only imagine the shipping price.

Thats absolutely not true, ACV does not for any reason make redmarks last longer.

UseACV while you are having your breakout bc chances are your redmarks wont be as dark afterwards and some may not even form. When using ACV its made pimples go away faster without leaving a mark and cleared up existing marks.
