What is the best way to apply Apple Cider Vinegar? Do I apply it on my face by dipping a cotton swab in the vinegar and then on my face? How much do I put in the cup that I"m dipping the swab into?

yo shrimper, the smell does go away after awhile for me, and it doesn't burn my skin either, it burns my eyes though. i've walked around school, sat in class, walked around work with it on, nobody seemed to noticed the smell or said anything. i can't really smell it myself...until i wash my face again.

if you play any sports, or do anything to make you sweat, it'll start smelling a bit again too. so be careful.

adding Green Tea + Lavendar helps it smell less and msot def. adding water will help dilute the concentration and make it smell less.

When I used to use this regimen, I remember sometimes adding a bit of lemon. It almost neutralizes the pungent smell of acv when you apply it to your face. Also, add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to help soothe in case it's a little too drying. Always dilute in water at 50 % if not more, always!

I can't say that it didn't help me, so good luck to everyone who tries it.

It's a good antiseptic for your face as well

Oddly, once I got it into my eyes, and nothing happened. Maybe because since I diluted it, the ph neutralized to 5.5. Or perhaps the natural oil soothed it. But at the same time, I could feel the tingle on my face. Nice

Okay, I only use the ACV at night before I go to bed. I have been using a 1:8 vinegar:water solution, waiting unitl it dries then putting moisturizer on. Should I put the ACV on at night and not use moisturizer? Thanks.

Always use a moisturizer bc they are essential for keeping your skin hydrated .. ACV doesnt hydrate your skin.

Is there a consensus dosage for ingesting ACV? I've see several variations on this board and on the Net such as 2 tablespoons, 1 tablespoon, and 2 teaspoons. Any idea what the correct dosage is?

Also, where can I buy tea tree oil and what's the best method for applying it?

There is no correct dosage this isn't something that the FDA came up with so you choose the dosage. Just do a few tablespoons ina big glass of Apple Juice that is fine. TTO can be bought at your local GNC .. www.gnc.com .. I suggest becomign a Gold Card Member it is so worth the 15 dollars.

Hi SmahingPumpkins,

Thank you for this thread! Anyway, I have 2 questions :

1) Did you experience a breakout when you first used this?

2) Do you think its safe, every few days, to use full ACV (without dilution) as spot treatment? So far my skin hasnt burned, itched, or even turned red from my 40% ACV and 60% water solution.

Thanks!

1. Yes initially I got a small breakout it was nothing major but it subsided quickly and bc I was using ACV the breakout left no new red marks.

2. I would find it more effective not to spot treat, just treat your whole face and brighten your entire complexion rather then small parts. This way you won't have to worry about blotchyness.

3. Yes, using it undiluted a few days a week is fine atleast then the other days of the week use a 50/50 solution or possibly greater bc you don't want to irritate your skin.

I drink it with a straw but don't use it topically. Do you have any links that say how it affects the skin? I mean what is in acv that's gonna heal the redmarks? I'd done many home remedies and they all seem like a waste of time. Just curious.

I made an ACV toner consisting of 1 part ACV to 2 parts water yesterday. I've applied it 3 times since yesterday morning, and found that my skin looks quite red and inflamed. It does tone down slightly after a while, but is still red. Is this just because I have senstive skin and an initial reaction which my skin will get used to or should I stop using it?

Sudocrem is hard to get seeing as it is only sold in Europe .. plus I don't have a paypal account and I doubt any other people here do seeing as most are underaged.

Your skin will get use to it. Use less ACV then if 1part ACV and 2part Water is too much.

Thanks for the help. So, if I used maybe 1 part ACV to 3 parts water the effects should be just as good, but without the redness?

I made my first concotion. I used half 1/2 cup of acv and 1/2 cup of water. Then I added a couple drops of tea tree oil. Now I can put this on every morning and then put other products on top of it? (Paulas Choice BHA 2% Gel)

I wouldn't recommend using a BHA bc that plus the ACV could cause over-exfoliation which is really damaging. If you over exfoliate you will exfoliate the barrier of skin which retains moisture hence having severly dehydrated skin which looks dull and no longer supple. I can say over exfoliation certainly is real bc I have done it to myself and took months to fix the damages. More isn't better when it comes to your skin. If I were you stick with the ACV bc it will push out your blackheads, dry up acne and get rid of red marks .. for the first time I was blackhead free when I started using ACV bc it opushed them to the surface making it so easily to extract .. all I did was use an exfoliation brush in the shower and they all came out.

If you have Acne then the TTO will def. help and you don't have to worry about it interfering with you healing process like BP which does slow it down causing redmarks to last alot longer.

What you should do is stick with using ACV + TTO + Moisturizer do not make it any more complicated then that.
