IT will stop working, you will see
You cannot judge and say what is happening to you will happen to other ppl .. someone did a hot water and ACV and there skin peeled .. but did they say "this will def. happen if you do this" no because nothing is guaranteed. What is it with people and putting things down .. just bc something doesn't work for you doesn't make it crap. Besides it did work.. and there is no reason for it to just stop .. things dont just stop you must be doing somehting different like using BP for example which slows down the healing process or u look at your redmarks and obsess over them so much that nothing seems to work.
its only been a week since i started using acv and its AMAZING. its like magic. i just hope it wont stop working and make things worse like what happend to those other people
Im glad you see improvement .. itreally evened out my skin tone, this is something I will never stop using. I don't even need to manually exfoliate anymore and if I do it is just to get some clogged pores out bc ACV for me anyways pushes them all out.
woooo!!!!! im so glad i found this!!!!
i had read about using ACV before to get red of persistent dandruff (which i am saddly plagued with) but this was months ago and i keep meaning to go out and buy some ACV to try it out, and always forgetting. but i had never heard about it helping the skin out as well... i mean... duh... i guess it figures that if it clears the junk off of your scalp it should also help your face, i just hadn't thought of it before.
this is great because i'm really into more natural remedies now, because all through my teen years i used every product and prescription i could get my hands on, including accutane, and even though my reeeally bad acne cleared up when i was like 17, my skin still isn't in the best shape it could be and i decided a while back to stop putting so many drugs and chemicals in my body because i think the long term after effects were worse.... anyway, i still have a kind of uneven skintone, small pimples, some red marks from picking at my face, and big pores. actually, looking at your pictures pumpkin, reminded me a lot of my own skin which makes me reeeallly hopeful that ACV will be me out!!!
i use baking soda for everything, because like ACV its one of those wonderful cheap natural things that has millions of uses, its pretty good as facial scrub, and i skimmed over a few posts in here saying you can use the ACV after using baking soda? how does this work/ what does it do???
i tried reading this whole thread but it was pretty long. sorry if this is something that was already asked and i missed it.
anyway. thanks again, i need to go out and buy some ACV today, i have a pretty good feeling about this.
I have been using ACV for about 3 months now and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
I don't feel the need to buy tons of products like I used to because ACV exfoliates and brightens my skin nicely. Yes my old red marks are still here, but they are still fading and I've realized that nothing works overnight - except for surgery maybe. I can tell the difference in my complexion so I am now dedicated to ACV.
One thing though, I find that inexpensive grocery store ACV works better for me than more expensive Organic ACV.

Be hopeful because it really does work. Do not be discouraged if you don't see wonders overnight, because nothing can promise that. But, after a week or two you should def. see a difference. Take a picture of yourself as you are now and in a week or 2 take another photo so you can see if there was a difference. It helps bc you see your self everyday and most days you cannot notce a change.
ACV works so well for dandruff bc if balances the pH of the skin .. so if you ahve dry skin it will normalize it and vice versa for oily skin.
Baking soda is very alkaline and p.acnes loove alkaline skin ... our skin is naturall more acidic but we constantly use alkaline products which break down our "acid mantle" which is a protective layer of skin for fighting bacteria. Well seeing as ACV is acidic it helps to recreate that acid mantle, killing alot of germs/bacteria from entering out pores. It also maintains the skin from getting to dry or oily. When your skin is oily it is oily bc it is trying to recreate the acid mantle .. and normalize your skin .. this is why so many of us have oily skin .. but using ACV religiously will def. help cut down on oil production. I def. noticed this but bc of school I have not been able to use ACV as regularly as I would like too.
Good Luck and def. post pictures .. they will help for you and others.

that is really awsome .. my skin is def. brighter too .. doesn't look so dull anymore.
hey hey..so i've been using ACV for 2-3 months i think? its working pretty well, and i'm happy. I've had trouble adjusting to life in dorms at college..so i haven't been able to stick to my regimen very strictly.
one problem i still have is that my hair is very very oily..and i think that oil comes down onto my face, or something liek that. i was wondering, hwo can i use the acv as conditioner? i've tried it once..and it was pretty hard to wash my hair with something so fluid.
Here is what I do:
1. Wash my hair with shampoo as always.
2. Get a large cup of ACV, enough to saturate your hair.
3. Dump it and rub it into your hair.
4. Rinse.
5. Conditioner.
You probobly don't want to be around ppl for a little while lol bc some ppl can smell it.
Or you could fill your sink half way with water then put a few cup fulls of ACV into the sink and soak your entire head that way.
It really is worth trying keeps your hair nice and soft, gets rid of all that junk and brings our your hair's highlights.
Im glad that the ACV is working for alot of people. It was working for me, but the only reason why i stopped was because my face was sooo dry. The weird thing was that i wasnt dry on the bottom of my face, i was very dry, on my forehaed, temples and around the eyes. I would still keep going with acv, but i dont want to age soo young
This is why, i am going to give lavender oil a try. I need to get my face back to normal again, meaning no dryness, and i will start the acv again, hopefully. I know that the acv is drying my face, because i havent used it for a wk now, and my face is starting to 'moist' again. I guess i am just really sensitive on the top part of my face. and i was using 50:50 ratio.
I've read that adding lavendar oil in the ACV will help with the smell and Lavendar is good for soothing the skin.
I just bought Emu Oil off of Joppa Minerals OMG the cheapest I have ever sene it! 5.95 for 1oz as opposed to like 1oz and 20 dollars. My skin does get really dry in the winter .. yet my face still gets oily so combination skin I guess you could say I have. So ACV and Emu Oil should def. even that out. Plus Emu Oil has a ton of vitamins and antioxidants and IMO Emu Oil is better then Lavendar Oil.

Maybe you could try putting it in a spray bottle and spraying it on your head after shampooing while in the shower. I was thinking of doing that.
you never had bad red marks to begin with. i say they just went away with time not the ACVI have had my redmarks for about 5 or 6 years so yea talk about coinmcidence if they only just started to improve once using ACV. Seriously dude get a life.
I trust you...I believe nobody here lie about their experience.
SmashingPumpkins, don't feel upset! Be Happy!
Hey ya'll, where do you buy lavendar oil?
I have to say I'm now using ACV more for preventing pimples than red marks nowadats. I really think the acid layer thing works because like I said I don't get the odd pimple every few days like I used to...
Bought the oil from my supermarket. im in australia
50ml from 14 AUD, which was pure 100%
I just started doing this a couple days ago but tonight I've been applying it more. How long should I expect to notice a difference? Should I expect much dryness?
after nearly 4 mths, i was very dry on the top 1/2 of my face. So i discontinued ACV. so now i am using lavender oil. But i think my skin is sensitive. You should give it a go!
Hellooo. Well I'm 19 and just started to have some mild skin problems within the past few years. It's not so bad but it's been really annoying because I had clear skin before this. My biggest problem is red marks. I don't know if my skin just pigments easily or what, but I have tons of red marks left from breakouts, mostly on the sides of my face, most probably over a year old.
Anyway, I've been looking for solutions to the red marks and there aren't really many products on the market for them. I tried this hydroquioline(sp?) gel from Murad but that just seemed to make it worse somehow.
Anyway, I saw delna's post in this forum about the baking soda + ACV regimen, and I've been doing that for the past week. I noticed some improvement in my red marks after the first use (and I actually took pictures to be sure). However my skin started to get really flaky. I'm using a new cleanser too (Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil + Awahpui) so I guess that might be it.
ANYWAY, to the point. I saw your post as well and was re-reading it today and noticed that you DO NOT wash of the ACV, but use it as a toner. I had been washing it off since that is what the other post said to do. Right now I just exfoliated with baking soda and applied the ACV as I've been doing, but I didn't wash it off and just left it on. And I have to say... WOW!!! My skin is not dry AT ALL and just this morning I had dry/flaky patches. It actually feels perfect, like I don't need any other moisturizer. I guess the combination of baking soda + ACV really does balance the skin's PH. I'm gonna keep doing it this way and hope to see improvement in my red marks I'll let you know.
Oh and I think your skin looks GREAT! I'm curious though, the first pictures you posted, you say that was before you started ACV, but I'm assuming that's not when your acne was at its worst? Because I have to say your skin looks really clear there to me! Just wondering.
Thanks so much for sharing this Sorry for the kinda long post... it's my first post on the board so I felt like a little introduction was in order too.
OH, and I was using about 1:8 water:ACV at first, but now am using a 1:4 ratio that seems to balance my skin really well but would you suggest trying it 50/50?
I couldn't post pix when my acner was at its worst bc that was when I was around 14 and 15, now I am 19 and that pic was taken when I was 17 .. for me I have been getting clearer and clearer each year but the redmarks don't go away the ones on the chin I had since I was 14 hadn't started to go away until I started using ACV. So unfortunately I have no pix of when I was 14 bc as you cna imagine I tried to avoid the camera .. plus at 14 I ha dno digital camera either.
I don't use baking soda to exfoliate bc ACV does that for me .. but some ppl have rougher and thicker skin so they can handle it.
Good Luck
