hey smashingpumpkins. Im trying out this tea tree oil and the smell is too strong, my family cant stand it. Is there any way to work around it?And my skin feels really minty afterwards and my eyes sting, does this mean im making it too potent?
thats how I feel minty and refreshingly clean. Just dilute it .. there is no way to mask the smell.
This "hot water soaking" to me doesn't make sense .. how can it better your skin or cut down on oil when all I have ever heard was hot water = dry/oily skin. From what I have read on this site is that hot water dries out your skin hence making the oil glands work even more to get that "acid mantle" back ... kinda confused. Hot water does kill germs .. but how would it benefit your skin .. that is the question.
You will get an initial break out from ACV just as any other new product bc your skin ahs to adjust .. that is just your skin's way of getting use to a new product. ACV will help with acne .. i will help prevent new pimples. Also I have read it is an antiseptic.

so should I apply ot once or twice a day?
Given the makeup of ACV, I don't see why it should be beneficial when taken internally. However, the skin might benefit. I could see scars fading over time using this method. Also, ACV should be wonderful for preventing acne but only when applied topically.
As for how quickly it works, that varies. All remedies simply assist in a natural process. Having a strong and healthy body assists in healing of the skin and preventing new marks more than anything.

I TOTALLY agree.
jamesw, could you post in the "Redmarks & Health" thread under "Red marks left after acne" forum, how to have a strong and healthy immuny system to prevent and fade redmarks, please?
will this even do anything for me?
compared to the thread starter my redmarks are a million times worse.. she basically has nothing. already looks pretty much perfect to me
Ya. Someone has asked her this question before.
But, many of us have found POSITIVE results.
However, not for me...since my redmarks always turned brown due to my dark skinned asian genetic.
ACV did nothing to my red/brownmarks, but it did even out my skin tone and greatly reduce oilyness.

Hi DolceDolce,
please take a look at my log... i have pics of my red marks after 3 months of using ACV diluted 50% 😀
I use TTO 3 or 2x a day.
SmashingPumpkins, are you still using ACV topically?
I am doing the Charming regime today.
Hope I get peeling tomorrow.
I did the Charming Regime yesterday.
Crazily, I did 6 times (hot watering then 100%ACV) in one day.
Today, I did not get any peeling at all. But, my face was so red....
I got chapped skin around my mouth (too dry).
Why can't I get peeling...I've never got any peeling (even sunburned peeling)....what wrong with my skin?
does your skin ever get dry? So even when (if you did) use BP, your skin didnt flake?
6x that is crazy lol ... maybe it will peel in a day or two .. not everything is instant. I did the hot water soaking twice yesterday and applied undiluted ACV and I have no peeling today. My face was wicked red tho after doing it, but my complexion seems brighter so thats a plus.

Ya...my skin always gets dry after cleansing.
I have not used BP.
6x...umm, fine for me.
No..still no peeling today.
I agree that my face still wicked red.
The chappped skin around my mouth is getting better.
My complexion is also good, BUT,...I have new acnes on my forehead!!! Like Charming did.
i find that acv works good at first then stops working at all, after about 1 month and worsens marks after that time
I have been using ACV since August and it still works. Are you using undiluted ACV? If not then the current concentraion you are using is proboly not strong enough for your skin.

i think thats my problem.. ive been using a 1:2 ratio for about 2 months now
at first it was REALLY helping.. and i got absolutely no new breakouts since
but within the last week, it seems to have just stopped, and i have a few new pimples
so i changed to a 1:1 ratio, hoping that i just need a stronger toner now
so we'll see how that goes

I started from 25% and increased bit by bit to 75%, tried 100% once and it was bad, after 1 month marks started to get worse and acne did not stop. After I stopped using ANYTHING on my face, including water and soap, acne stopped being so active
Hey guys, after 3 months i think i am going to stop ACV. I am getting alittle bored with it, feeling like its not working. I still get activ acne, and leading to more red marks. My sister who doesnt use it, gets lesser pimples, she only like has one pimple. So confused dont know what to do!!!!

3 months!!!!
I have stopped since I saw no improvement after 3 weeks trial.
But, good luck to you who are still using ACV.
Acne1989-
ACV has lessened some ppl;s acne and it can def. help to contorl it .. but by no means would I just use ACV to get rid of acne. It works much better at exfoliation and lessening oily skin. Why haven't you use BP or TTO with ACV? Maybe you could have seen better results.
