SmashingPumpkins, I read your PM. You also recommended the Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash as well? However, considering that the name of the wash has "oil" in it, I'm assuming it's NOT oil-free and may clog pores. I am acne-free but I also don't want break outs occurring using oily washes. Do you recommend something else to get rid of my disgusting redmarks, like AHA?
Also, can I use AHA souffle 12% with my regimen? I'm thinking about just quitting BP altogether since I'm not breaking out anymore and replace it with an AHA lotion like this.
Another question I have is if I can do 30% glycolic acid peels along with this regimen. I guess the point I'm making is that I HATE my red marks. I'm trying to do all that I can to get rid of them.
Last Q: Does the ACV make your skin pale?
Tea Tree Oil is nothing like the kind of oil you are thinking of. TTO is very good for your skin and makes you feel refreshed, awake and clean. It does not clog oils at all. I dont use TTO Wash I just use the undiluted bottle of TTO .. I bought mine at GNC for 7 dollars.
I wouldnt use the AHA too often maybe like 3x a week if you really wanna use it (i personally found them to be junk) .. ACV alrdy exfolioates your skin so you really dont need anything else. That is the only reason why Glycolic Acid lik AHA Souffle is used for clearing redmarks bc of the exfoliation .. but for some reason GA has never worked for me.
Idk how effective 30% GA Peels are but I would never trust myself enough to give myself a peel.
ACV doesnt make you pale but if you have a tan then it will renew your skin so your tan will fade much faster ... I've dealt with this so often .. the rest of my skin is tan but face is much lighter bc of exfoliation. So if you don't have a tan it won't make you pale if anything give u a brighter complexion.
wen do u apply ACV? im not on CSR anymore. i use Salicylic acid now and bio oil after cleansing. can i use ACV any where in between there? like can i do : cleanse, SA, ACV then Bio oil?????
This derm recommends AHAs (which ACV is a little bit)after salicylic acid/bha, so yeah basically what you said.

OK what I'm doing right now is:
Morning & Night:
Clearasil Sensitive Daily Face Wash
Apply 1:1 water/ACV
wait 10 mins
wash off and use BP
wait to mins
use Cetaphil/Neutrogena mixed moisturiser
It's been about 3 weeks now, my red marks are steadily improving (I think) but I'm still getting minor breakouts every now and then, and BP still leaves my skin looking bad
Should I ditch BP for TTO face wash? I hate what BP is doing to my skin, but I'm worried about getting huge breakouts as soon as I ditch it... has anyone used both & can compare them?
@ con2rol, is it Apple CIDER Vinegar? If so buy it, start off diluted, and increase concentration slowly
don't wash off the ACV after applying it. leave it on
update:
acv + Bp+ cetaphil cleanser + dove moisturizer w. spf 15 has pretty much gotten rid of my "weekly major breakout". i break out in random, smaller zits that go away much quicker. haven't gotten a large pustule in a while now. this thing works pretty damn well for getting rid of my acne
hii have just bought a bottle of apple vineger and on the bottle it says 100 % natural and 5 % acidity
is that the one i use with the water in 1:1 ratio or the acidity has to be 100 %
thanks
wow 100% Acetic Acid on your face .. you wouldn't have a face if you used that lol. 5% can be irritating and sting alittle .. that is why most ppl dilute it and gradually increase once the stinging subsides.

then what u are using is a 5 % acidity ACV or what?
i should use that 5 % acidity ACV in the ratio u guys use 1:1 or 1:2 vinger: water
thanks again
5% doesnt mean it has 5% Apple Cider Vinegar just that it has 5% acidity aka Acetic Acid .... the acid helps bring the pH of your skin back to normal so that it is not alkaline. Not many prodcut we use do that .. unless you know special brands that do say pH balanced .. soaps are completely alkaline and really bad for you.
Most ppl use 50ACV and 50Water starting out bc there face is not use to the acid and it will burn/irritate .. after awhile it doesn't burns so then you can either use full strength or just up the solution every week.
Im really really confused on this you should make an FAQ page but
SO can i get this ACV @ a place like Ralphs or what also what do I look for?
Also do I mix it in a bottle with half water and half ACV then use a cotton ball and apply during a shower or after....
and do I still use my gentle cleanser... really really confused....
A quick update. I've been using the ACV for the past week and it's starting to break me out. I don't know if it's the excessive ACV I put on 3x a day or the halting of Dan's BP gel. I haven't been getting breakouts but since I have stopped using the gel and putting on more of the toner, I've been having breakouts and the vinegar just seems to make my pimples turn "white-ish" and it burns. One pimple started bleeding and that's when I stopped completely.
I don't need to make a FAQ Page bc everything is on page one .. scroll down past the pictures and every step is right there. The only thing that has chnaged is I don't use BP .. my acne isn't bad enough to use it so it isn't worth keeping my redmarks around longer, I just use TTO (Tea Tree Oil).
