oo smashingpumpkin i noticed for the last couple days my tzone was getting oily, even though i've been doing the same method for over a month now. do you have any clue why this would happen? i did start going to school (and start stressing, for that matter) when it happened... could that be it? ugh.

Yes, when I get stressed by skin get oilier and breaks out. PLus where I live it is very humid so oilyness and sweatyness is everywhere yuck. Plus if you are in school you can't put on ACV for those hours, that could b it to. Are you in HS?
am gonna try this method cos i know i have apple cider at home. i can jus leave it on after cleansing and continue with the CSR regimen?indeed, just make sure your face is 100% dry before applying the BP, don't want it to ball up.
=\ i think ACV does cause whiteheads and applying BP is idiotic with ACV because skin doesnt heal but doesnt break out, which is dumb. Its better for all redness to go away first then stop acv and every other product, and let your own skin deal with this. If you apply more stuff then your skin be dependent on something, you will be addicted to it. Making it an exact definition of a drug, using for clearing up skin, in other words for pleasure of having good skin.Well then looking at it that way I guess Dan is addicted to BP? Doubt it, some people have acne basically forever, so if you can control it by using BP then be my guest. For some people yes they grow out of it others no. And, ACV does not cause white heads there can only be 3 explanations for that. 1) Sensitive skin, 2) allergic reaction and 3) ACV actually brings to the surface what has been brewing under your skin for weeks. I think it is 3 because my blackheads have come to the surface and all I have to do now is gently exfoliate them out, that has never happened before.
The ACV + BP method makes sense to work. ACV brings pH of skin back to normal while at the same time healing your skin and keeping your acid mantle in tact. Now for people who still breakout occasionally BP is good because it kills w/e other bacteria is on the skin and puts oxygen in your pores. Both ACV and BP kill bacteria sooo.. what is wrong with that? Better the results IMO.
I cannot say for myself whether ACV gave me a minor breakout because while I was using it just so happnes I was PMS'ing and I also get some sort of a breakout during that time. Today I do have a white head on my chin but that often happens I think from food that touches my chin and I do not wash it immediately. I also got one white head on my cheek. I applied ACV and it seemed to being the white head more and more to the surface. Now it is just a little red so I am going to put some Neospirin on it b/c is hurts and to heal it faster.
Ok think about it: BP with ACV as you mentioned b4 doesnt let your skin heal, but does prevent break outs. Also I say the example with Dan and BP is addictive, he is using a product for nothing more than pleasure and depends on it to keep getting the pleasure of having good skin. I am addicted? Yes you bet, i sure love this drug ACV even through i know i depend on it. Btw people out there, I found out that washing your face with soap causes redness, so I have tried washig with soap only once a day and without soap 1 time as well - when i take shower. I still think ACV causes whiteheads BUT it is better to have them instead of red skin. KO lol
Is it alright to be using a foaming cleanser that contains SA?
Also how much ACV should I be applying? Right now I'm just pouring it on a cotton pad and then wiping my face with it once.
Should I go over top of it a second or 3rd time so it's actually fairly wet on my face and then I can just let it dry?
Tap don't be a critic if you have yet to try it. It is like a movie critic, talking about how bad a movie is, but have not see it yet. Now, does that make much sense?
Second of all, like someone else said, I am sure ppl were skeptical about BP many I am sure though it was ridiculous. I think every new idea anyone has had their are always those who disagree even if they have no prior experience with it. They just think, it is too simply, how can simplicity be the answer. Well, yea no Tap, sometimes things that seem so simple are what make the biggest change.
Why should vinegar have to only be used on food, cooking, cleaning? If people can put egg on their faces, yogurt, fruit, vegetables. Why is Vinegar so far fetched? Especially seeing as it has been a natural remedy for many ailments, longer than you have been around (Vinegar is said to have been used for medical ailments for at least 10,000 years. The Babylonians first converted wine into vinegar in 5000 BCE using date palms, grapes, and figs, and believed vinegar had exceptional healing properties. Hippocrates is said to have used vinegar as an antibiotic. Samurai warriors supposedly used a vinegar tonic for strength and power. During the U.S. Civil War, soldiers used vinegar to prevent gastric upset and as a treatment for various ailments including pneumonia and scurvy. It was used to treat wounds during World War I).
I think you are close minded and need to expand your horizon because how can you live a life if you are looking through just a key hole? WAKE UP TAP! Try something different! Just because a "scientist" or "doctor" says Glycolic acid is classified as an AHA it is better, what happned if you found out that they were wrong and GA was't an AHA, what would you do then? You cannot always trust modern science, they are not always right and just because acetic acid isn't written in stone that it is an AHA doesn't mean it cannot act as one. Plus ACV does have an AHA in it it is called Malic Acid from appled, that is why some people put apples on their face because of its exfoliating properties. Not onl;y that but ACV is filled with vitamins/minerals which are alot better for your skin then some man made crap or preservative they put in your Glycolic Acid lotion or Neutragena, Clearasil, Biore etc. Sometimes using natural remedies are better then store bought crap.
Why don't you do soem research and look at all the recipes and websites about people using ACV on thier faces. I am sure you cna find books with natural remedies and ACV is in it somewhere.

Apple Cider Vinegar is proving very beneficial to people or animals with arthritis because it breaks down calcium deposits in the joints while remineralizing the bones. It has shown to be equally beneficial to dogs with hip dysplasia.
ACV is also effective for urinary tract infections and it lowers high blood pressure. In animals, it is helpful in skin and coat problems. It is helpful in replacing potassium depletion. Use one teaspoonful in the dog or catas drinking water daily as a healthy tonic. Two teaspoonfuls in a pint of water, for yourself. Drink a daily tonic of apple cider vinegar to help you keep the right pH balance in the urinary tract since the proper acidity creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria and yeasts that cause these infections.
Cranberry juice is also a well known home remedy for urinary tract infections. It prevents bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract.
Apples contain Vitamin C and flavonoids. Vitamin C helps with wound healing and in reducing the severity of colds and flu symptoms.
A new University of California-Davis Medical Center study shows that daily consumption of 12 ounces of apple cider or apple juice can reduce the risk of heart disease. And the benefits donat stop there. A recent Cornell University study found that the antioxidants in apples also inhibit the growth of certain types of cancer cells.
ACV has been found to protect arteries from harmful buildup of plaque. Many heart attacks are caused by high fats and cholesterol in your blood. The fiber in ACV helps to absorb fats and cholesterol by expelling them from the body as waste materials. ACV is used to promote the health of veins and capillaries, it is also useful in assisting in the health of the heart. The potassium found in apple cider vinegar is also beneficial to the heart.
The dietary fiber in ACV is also helpful in controlling glucose levels in the blood.
Minerals like manganese, calcium, magnesium, silicon and iron develop bone mass and make them stronger. . Rich source of amino acids, vitamins and minerals.
Boosting the immune system and acting as a natural antiseptic and anti-biotic. Apple cider has acetic acid, plus ion-futynic lactic and propionic acids. It is the richest source of amino acids known.
Apple cider cannot cure cancer, buy it is a valuable to have around to help fight free radicals in the body. Beta-carotene, found in apple cider vinegar, is a powerful antioxidant, which helps to neutralize the free radicals formed in the body through oxidation. To prevent these free radicals, and to keep them in check, we need antioxidants to rid our body of these potentially dangerous compounds. Left alone free radicals have the run of our bodies, they damaging cells, which leads to degeneration. The pectin in apple cider vinegar adds fiber to the diet, a high fiber diet to help prevent cancer, especially colon cancer. Fiber binds with certain cancer causing compounds in the colon, and speeds up their elimination from the system.
As you can see Tap people do research and study ACV because of all it is benefits and how people rave about it. Maybe if you ahd done some research you could have found alot of this info.
Nothing there proves ACV will take your spots out. Websites don't count as valid sources. ACV is still not a proven method for taking out red spots.
hi guys
i'm using ACV since about a week and i also do the egg white/lemon mask every alternate day....and today when i was visiting a store and i saw my face in the mirror...it was shining like anything and looked very tight .....although i had red marks left from past acne, but i was so happy to see my face glowing...my face never looks healthy...but today it did...i just felt like sharing something good, so i posted...may b its ACV or may b both....i dont use any bp as i'm allergic to it....so currently my regimen just includes ACV, egg mask, SA sometimes, glycolic acid sometimes....
though i'm scared that acne might again start just any day and once it comes, it doesnt go easily...so i'm planning to include tea tree oil in place of bp in my regimen....pls suggest something if u know that can work as gud as bp....

Yes and neither was BP or SA .. but guess what they hard to start somewhere. not to mention, it is called a "home" remedy lots of people have them. Go complain in another thread like about the egg mask or something. You really need a life. Don't try it then if you need "scientific evidence" you are such a dickhead.
Also how are websites not valid, they would be less valid if I found like 50 websites saying all different things about ACV. Nope, they all say the same. Not to mention there are studies about ACV so you cannot say it is not being scientifically looked at when it had to be to be made into a pill/capsule, now if there were no scientific research at all I doubt it would be made into a pill for people to comsume.
if you are soo wrapped up in this and you say ACV does not work then you can either A) Try it yourself and stop acting like a foolish critic or B) you do your own goddamn research instead of relying on me to do it for you. SO GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND DO IT IF YOU ARE SO CONCERNED! Not to mention If you "know" so much about how ACV does not work, pleas enlighten me and give me some references Tap, I bet you won't find any. Because all you are doing is talking talking talkin with no references I keep giving you references to prove to you it does .. but someone disregards them as nonsense .. hmm hmm

Sound like a good regimen to me, but if you are ACV and SA you wouldn't need glycolic acid because SA and ACV both exfoliate the skin and you do not want to over exfoliate. Adding tee trea oil would be great, you have to dilute it and use it as a toner as well similar to ACV. I noticed that about my face too when I look at it now .. it does look so much more supple and healthy. I understand the glow too, something about my face has chnaged since using ACV can't exactly pin point it but I LOVE IT! I am so so happy I am on this regimen nothing has ever transformed my face as much as this has.
For all you non-believers, I won't mention any names. Well I finally have what all of you have been waiting for not year old red marks that have faded on thier own and are only fading more and more each day with ACV but I have quite a red mark now. Granted I do not have 30 of them, but if it can get rid of one, why not 30?
A couple days ago I got 2 white heads pretty big too, one on my left cheek and 1 on my chin. Now, the one on my chin is more of an underground pimple as I like to call them I get them sometimes on my chim, it is probobly from accidentally get fodd on my chin and not washin git immediately, but it is still very red. The one of my cheek is redder and I unforuntately didn't take a pic yesterday so it is already fading. Mind you this just appeared yesterday. Also mind you it is 1 AM so no naturla sunlight so i tried to fix the pic as much as possible so it isn't too blurry and I do not look so orange, so that you can actually see both marks. I will take a pic sometimes tomorrow in the daylight so you can have a clearer pic. Oh and if your wondering why my lips look shiny it is just alot of chapstick, I tend to layer it on.
Now I shall conduct my own experiment, lets see how long it takes for this to fade enough so it is hardly visible.
My hypothesis: Within a week it will be noticeably lighter. Now I hope it is correct but who knows my take two weeks to see a significant difference maybe one, that is just what I think. The pic may also look different tomorrow because it will be alot less blurry but who knows.
WOW!
That's alot of my problem are those red marks!
It really sucks cause you might not even have a pimple but those red marks make you look like you do.
I really am going to try that.
We have apple cider up in the cabinet that has just been sitting there.
Now we can put it to good use.
I was looking for some home remedies, cause there so much more natural && cheaper!
I really cant wait to start trying this!

I've been using ACV for a couple weeks now and I just thought I'd add my two cents to this. It may not be scientifically proven to reduce/lighten/clear your red marks, but if it works for someone, then why do we need scientific evidence? I believe that if something works for you, then you need no other proof than the results you see yourself. Obviously for many here including myself, it works. I don't see why you would need any other reason to debate on this subject except for the fact that you're bored or unless you just like to disagree with people. If you're not going to try it yourself or believe others then don't. It's been pointed out to you many times that it's a very inexpensive little remedy and since there's no "scientific proof" out there good enough for you, you're going to have to make your own conclusions by trying it yourself. If you don't then your loss.

Well said! I'm sick of people deliberately tring to quash peoples ideas for no reason other than to disagree!
Like you said, scientific proof isn't needed, if it works for someone then there is always a chance it will work for you. Thats the only proof i need to try something out!
To all you cynics out there: A bit of positivity please!! 😀
ATTENTION ALL ACV USERS!!!!
Those of you who can't stand the smell of ACV (like meself):
I use a shot glass to make my mix of ACV and water (this usually lasts for 3-4 days, btw), but if you add 1-2 drops of lavender oil, the smell of vinegar is completely concealed by the lavender. It smells SOOOOO much nicer and now I don't have to worry about going to work smelling of vinegar (especially because I don't use moisturizer; even the lightest non-comedogenic moisturizer makes me face shiny within a few hours, and I've noticed that I don't dry out by using ACV only)
I'm definately going to use lavender in the mix from now on.
[edit]
Forgot to add this link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_living....shtml#lavender
I have read alot of good things about lavendar and actually mixing it with ACV, I didn't know it got rid of the smell, but I have read that Lavendar is very soothing for your skin and it is a greta mix with ACV.
Thanx Spacebass Atleast now ppl don't have to worry about smelling like vinegar.
For those of you who are or have tried drinking it but can't stand the taste. I just bought some Apple Juice because I read that drinking apple juicce or apple cider with Apple Cider Vinegar will ake the taste less noticeable ... I will fidn out if they are right or not.
Oh and after I shower I am going to take a pic of the results today, the mark has surprisingly already gotten lighter
Who here believes or thinks this regimen is making a noticeable difference in Oil, RedMarks, SkinTone, Smooth Skin etc.
I only ask this because there are alot of people questionsing me and believe that only I have seen significant results .. well I know that is not true and people would also know this if they read more of the thread. So it would be very helpful if you just stated that it is helping and what it has been helping you with.
Thank You!
I agree with all above but acv still causes more breakouts than ussual, well i think that is because acid dries up alot of cells, leaving dead cells, then when oil comes in contact = your pores get cloged with bacteria trapped inside.
That doesn't make much sense seeing it is an AHA also so it exfoliates your skin and it kills bacteria and as an acid brings your skin's pH back to an acid. Our sakin is already acidic we just put too much crap on our faces causes ot be alkaline which makes use susceptible to acne and bacteria.
