WOW. Look at this huge zit I got. It was sort of going down two days ago and then I woke up and BAM.
Reminds me of the huge zit I got on the side of my face when I started fish oil. Hmm. But the other pimples didn't get this big since I've been on fish oil.
I can only imagine the red mark left behind after this heals.
BP obviously isn't bringing it down and I'm not popping it. I'm going to see if rubbing garlic with it works because it's an antiseptic.
I also used the green juelp mask, green tea packet and even icing it. Nothing.
EDIT:
It popped on its own and I'm pretty sure there is another pimples under it. Great.
But hey, I guess it's better than having 10 spots compared to one big one.
What is Insulin Resistance?
Insulin resistance is the inability of the body to adequately use the insulin produced by the pancreas to process the glucose in the bloodstream and use it as energy.
As glucose levels build, despite the production of a standard amount of insulin, the pancreas responds by producing more insulin. Concurrently, the increase in insulin results in an increase in androgens, which are implicated in hyperactive sebaceous glands.
These glands produce the oils that are the first step in the inflammatory acne infection. Thus, indirectly, insulin resistance may indeed have an affect on your skin.
Nutmeg + Honey mask
I'm pretty sure that is the reason my red marks have faded so much in the past months I have started to use it. I was always looking in the mirror wondering why now?
I didn't use it all over my face since it's drying so the red marks on the farthest side of my face I didn't really focus on. Partially because I wanted to see if it WOULD fade the others.
I guess it did because everything else is fading to a light purple while the other untouched red marks are still bright as ever. I'm pretty sure those are the oldest too which you would think would be the first to fade.
I bought raw cacao beans and they're being shipped
I think I'm going to go gluten free again. I don't eat a lot of wheat but it is in the tortillas and pasta. I don't eat bread to begin with but I won't be getting gluten free bread either because 1- it tastes like sponge cake 2- expensive 3- i don't eat sandwich meats 4- high on GI index
Thanks so much for the honey/nutmeg tip! These red marks are so frustruating; nice to know they DO fade though.
oh, question though: how do you mix the honey and nutmeg together? and how often do you use it? oh AND how long do you leave it on?
Sad day. I have been dealing with the pimple on the side of my face for a couple days now. That location is connected to the stomach. I did have kashi bars and a piece of chocolate so maybe that's why. I haven't had a "side pimple" for months.
Raw cacao powder is coming in two days and I bought stevia at the grocery store too. I also bought Spirulina.
I learned about it from Natural News which everyone should be subscribed to!
http://www.naturalnews.com/025703.html
I bought some kale. Hopefully I can try a green smoothie again because last time I tried it I wasn't a fan.

I use a little styrofoam cup and mix it in there with a q-tip. A plate will work too though. I use it everyday and leave it on as long as I can. It might feel like it's tingling at first but I have super sensitive skin so it might just be me. But they say atleast 20 minutes for any natural facial.
I make sure there's a lot of nutmeg because honey for some reason doesn't do it for me.
Oh wow, every day! I heard that using honey TOO much can cause you to break out, I guess that's not true for you. I hope it's not for me either.
I wonder what it is about the nutmeg that causes it to lighten hyperpigmentation?

I used to use honey as my face wash but it gave me little bumps so i might be allergic to it but in the mask I don't get it.
Idk but if you look on homemade facial sites they always say nutmeg for lightening.
I think this is a good example of how people grow out of acne. I don't think it has anything to do with your diet.
Ahh, how I wish it were true!
But 11 pages of hit and misses with foods do not lie. I wish it was something I was growing out of but I'm still breaking out. I get my allergy test results next week though.
Do you think this size zit is coming from someone who is grown out of acne?
That's what happens when I stray from my diet. Last time I ate like I used to I got a swarm of cystic pimples. That doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that something is happening internally.
Also, my sister who is 25 is considering accutane. I doubt it's just growing out of it. And my other sister on her wedding day dealt with acne so I'm pretty sure it's genetics, hormones and food allergies for me.
1 year ago I was eating ramen noodles, sugary fruit juices, cookies, ice cream, pizzas and frozen dinners every night. I never drank water either. My acne was horrendous and cystic. I got them all on the sides of my face which is connected to the stomach or "lungs" shown here:
The first entry should show enough evidence that diet contributes to most acne. For myself anyways. It took months to get clear but once I got rid of known allergen foods my skin was clear. Just a coincidence huh?
Yikes. Now I remember why I stopped using Seban Pads! I used it a couple times a day for 3 days or so and yesterday my forehead, nose and cheeks [where I get oil the most] were covered in red little dots. I guess it's a rash more than a popable pimple. There were bad chemicals in Seban Pads so I learned my lesson. It went down a lot since last night.
I believe that if you aren't getting enough sleep it will affect your skin. I notice that when I get bad sleep or none that it looks dull and not tight.
I think rubbing garlic on the zits I got helped! I also dabbed apple cider vinegar on them and they're basically gone now without popping!
I was reading how this celebrity was endorsing a fast food chain and chemicals popped into my head and I googled MSG. I already knew about it but I wanted to see what fast food chains carried it.
This site came up: http://www.rense.com/general52/msg.htm
There's NO winning with fast food. They even put it on their salads. I guess you can't get short cuts with feeding your body.
"MSG was in everything! The Campbell's soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavored potato chips, Top Ramen, Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swanson frozen prepared meals, Kraft salad dressings, especially the 'healthy low fat' ones. The items that didn't have MSG had something called Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, which is just another name for Monosodium Glutamate. It was shocking to see just how many of the foods we feed our children everyday are filled with this stuff. They hide MSG under many different names in order to fool those who catch on.
But it didn't stop there. When our family went out to eat, we started asking at the restaurants what menu items had MSG. Many employees, even the managers, swore they didn't use MSG. But when we ask for the ingredient list, which they grudgingly provided, sure enough MSG and Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein were everywhere. Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, every restaurant, even the sit down ones like TGIF, Chilis', Applebees and Denny's use MSG in abundance. Kentucky Fried Chicken seemed to be the WORST offender: MSG was in every chicken dish, salad dressing and gravy. No wonder I loved to eat that coating on the skin, their secret spice was MSG!"
This breaks my heart. People don't even know it's in there. It finally became public when Campbell's soup and Progresso went head to head in commercials and outed each other for putting MSG in their soups.
Why talk about MSG? Well, it's been known to trigger break outs. I mean, if this can make dirt taste like heaven, why would this be considered okay to eat!
I checked my foods and Rice Shreds by Galaxy Nutrition has Yeast Extract in it which is listed as a + to MSG. An organic multi-bran cereal I ate has malt extract in it and that's listed too.
Last week this huge thing was on my face on the same side:
Not much has changed since the start of the month except I broke out in big hormonal zits from starting new lower birth control pills and one on the side of my face which is still shown but should be dying down.
I just hope I don't get the hormonal zits next month!
I think I have an overheating problem. Sometimes I get so hot my face is bright red in a t-shirt and jeans and other times I can be freezing. Maybe it's connected to my thoughts and anxiety. But I'm not having a giant panic attack during the times I get hot.
The little zits I have been getting might be from too much irritation on my skin like when I wash the honey + nutmeg masks off too harsh or using clarsonic brush.
Oh and I got the raw cacao powder in the mail today and had some. It smelled exactly like chocolate but didn't taste like it lol. I put a 1/2 teaspoon in a cup of soy milk and a couple drops of stevia. It was delicious. I'm not sure if I even got a "high" off it since I had woken up from a nap but I did notice that I was breathing better. For some reason I have a problem with breathing. It always feels like there's something scratchy on my lungs or diaphragm. It doesn't hurt or anything though. Just feels blocked or clogged like I could breathe deeper but can't. I was breathing clear for awhile. I'm confused that since it has a lot of magnesium would it be canceled out because of the caffeine? Maybe it's just a concidence but after I drank it I felt a little tickle on my cheek and that's a sign a pimple is coming. I've been getting good at catching them which is scary lol. I'm not sure if it'll be an actual pimple though.
I think I stopped a couple pimples right in their tracks.
Apple cider vinegar
Calamine lotion [has great reviews on here]
Queen Julep mask
I'm not impressed with the raw cacao. I'm not getting this "jolt" people talk about. It seems to make me more sleepy. It also doesn't taste like something that would have so many antioxidants. I'm not doubting it though, just surprised. I'm used to healthy things tasting bad lol. Maybe I don't have a sweet tooth anymore but I can't imagine eating it all the time or everyday. But for the sake of the nutrients I'm sure I can fit it in.
There have been great reviews for Kiss my face pore shrink mask. I'll be buying that soon and looking forward to it .
I have these huge pores all across my cheeks [thanks to my mom!] and that's where makeup sits horribly and blush looks ridiculous. Hopefully that will help.
I'm currently looking up coconut oil but I always hear that coconut oil will clog pores yet it's different on review boards.
I am so excited to try these new things.
-raw cacao
-coconut oil
-spirula
-organic raw honey
I read that coconut oil will help acne prone skin because it can kill mites that are under your skin. Idk if I believe it but the countless reviews don't lie.
Raw cacao is sketchy because some say it's poison but then I thought, "Well, when onions are cut they expel sulfur which make us cry. Shouldn't onions be considered poison then since raw cacao has a bitter shell?" Don't think so.
I have eaten "raw" honey but it was always by Full Circle Organics which is only considered organic by some place in Vermont! This is much better:
http://www.vitacost.com/YS-Organic-Raw-Honey
You can dilute it in water and drink it an hour before you eat and it's supposed to be great for your complexion. You can also apply it on your skin.
I never got the "amazing" results when using honey on my face. Maybe once I get raw honey I will.
Spirulina is known as a whole food and has a crazy amount of nutrients.
It's only been like 3 days and I'm sick of eating chocolate lol. That's not a good thing if I'm forcing myself to eat it. I'm not used to sweet things. I eat bland brown rice and plain pasta and like it. That's what I am accustomed to.
I tried Kale chips. You cut up some Kale, rub olive oil on it, some apple cider vinegar [i don't] and some salt. Put in oven for 350 degrees for 10 minutes but it took less than that for me. You have to check it a lot so it doesn't burn. I got a couple bites of semi-brown spots and it wasn't pleasant.
I don't know if I like kale chips or not. It tastes like nothing which is odd. I remember potato chips tasted like nothing to me too. It's very crunchy though which is nice.
I neverrrr got on the green smoothie band wagon.
1 - I can't afford buying all kinds of fruit and the quality in my store sucks. I once bit into a plum and the inside was filled with mold! Never again. I only buy apples and always cut them up just in case
2- The consistency never smooths out for me
3- Never liked the taste
I have found that Vitacost.com is the cheapest place to buy things compared to other sites and their shipping is 5 dollars no matter what size so make sure you bulk up the order.
Oh and no active pimples! I still have the little bumps on my forehead [thanks seban pads for that!] but they are going away. I am getting little blackheads on my face though. Not sure why. They normally are only on my nose.
I tried the oil cleansing on my cheeks with olive oil. It's where you rub oil on your face, steam it with a hot wash cloth and then wash the oil off your face. Maybe it was just the hot wash cloth but my huge pores on my cheeks were smaller even when I woke up this morning.
I bought this online for $39.00 including shipping:
YS Organic Raw Honey 22 oz
Kiss My Face Obsessively OrganicA Pore Shrink Mask
Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil 15 oz
Kiss My Face C The Change Ester-C Serum
I saved 18 dollars buying it online. I have been curious about vitamin c serums. Dr. Perricone praises them from what I remember.
It has good reviews on Makeupalley.com which is a great site for TONS of product reviews.
Wednesday is my allergy test results! I hope I don't have an allergy to nuts but I probably will. I always read how great nut butters are for you. Thankfully they sell Sunbutter that is peanut free.
My forehead is horrrrrible. The rash turned into zits. I'm breaking out in little zits all over my face too but I guess it's better than big cystic ones. I think it's from my oil control powder because the bumps are everywhere I put it. That's even talc free, ugh.
Last night I was suggested a makeup brand. It contained Kaolin clay which is known to help stop oil. It's also in the Queen Helen mask that I love. I didn't like how that makeup brand contains Silica (Amorphous) because it s surrounded by health controversy.
On LA Minerals they have a product called Celebrity Face Rehab which looks impressive but 4 grams for 24 dollars that looks really small for the price sizes.
I saw that it contained pearl powder and it is
"....rich in Calcium, Zinc, Manganese, 18 Amino Acids and other minerals that are essential for healthy skin . Amino Acids are the the building block of Proteins that are known to hydrate skin effectively without causing much photo sensitivity and irritation. Amino Acids have a power of healing Scarred Skin ,Stretch Marks, Fine Lines, and improving Tone and Color of skin."
Plus it is big in China and we all know that they are known for great skin.
I searched on Ebay and bought 30 grams of pearl powder for 11 dollars and kaolin clay 8 oz for 8 dollars. Hopefully this will be my holy grail to stop oil under my makeup!

Oh and I found a picture from Dec 23. It makes me so sad and cringe.
All thanks to that chemical peel!
I GOT MY TEST RESULTS BACK
I have slight sensitivities:
wheat
corn
rice
soy
tomato
strawberry
The highest was oats which is funny because I was eating that for weeks on end as a meal.
I'm also allergic to cats, pollen, dust and ragweed.
I'm not allergic to nuts though which is weird.
So, I basically would have nothing to eat except a raw diet because if I wanted an alternative to dairy I can't have soy or rice milk. If I don't eat wheat I can't eat corn or rice pasta!
The tomato allergy was shocking to me because I would have it on my salmon pizza for dinner all the time.
I started the Spirulina today. It tastes like nothing since I got it in pills.
It's known to CLEAR acne. Google it. here

AH-HA! I guess the break out could from spirulina.
"from Just a note about SuperGreen foods--initially they can cause a "detox" effect, flushing out the body's impurities. This means that pimples can get worse before they get better during the first few weeks of a dietary change. Drink lots of water!"
"Spirulina is detoxifying so it is possible that someone could detox too quickly releasing toxins in the blood stream causing some headaches or uneasy feelings. It is important to take plenty of water."
