i just realized you've been on spiro for more than a month now. this is very interesting as your log is the first i've read about it. well, good luck with your regimen! 😉

Is it really? People write about spiro on the org all the time

My face feels so itchy! Its been itching horribly since the day before last. I dont know if its my new make up (it does contain mica), my smashbox photo finish or my moisturizer. This morning I put on my moisturizer, I skipped the primer and then and I put on my make up. My skin started peeling like crazy as soon as I put on the make up. I think the make up isnt aggreeing with my skin but Im not positively sure thats what it is

I have a pimple in my left ear now and its getting infected. Its bright red :( My face looks like shit too. I have a lot of new pimples today that I didnt have yesterday. Im afraid make up makes me break out in addition to dairy. I might have to stop using make up and only use it on special occasions.

My face is still really itchy today! My cheeks are bright red, still have those small white bumps, and it just feels really uncomfortable!

Last night I took off my pillow case and used a t shirt as a pillow case.

Today Im gonna wear my physicians formula tac free mineral powder or whatever its called. I hope the mica in that doesnt make me itch even more, if thats possible

I'm in the same boat as you, my face is red and irritated. Hopefully things will shape up tomorrow. Happy Holidays. =]

Im glad to know Im not alone in this 😉 Thanks you too! Im actually not in the Christmas spirit at all this year but Merry Christmas to you anyway. One of my patients in the nursing home was transferred somewhere else so I really miss her and a lot of my patients dont get to go home for christmas. Its really sad 🙁 Plus my mom isnt on speaking terms with her sister and brother. That deeply impacts me too. That means I dont get to see my cousins anymore, their children, their husbands. Its been five years since Ive seen my cousins and it gets me down in da dumps. My cousin didnt even invite me to her wedding :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

Oh, I'm sorry. =[ It sucks that family issues have to come in the way of spending time together. My mom moved away in October, so this is going to be my first Christmas without her, which is kind of sad. I always look forward to the holidays, but this year I'm more looking forward to the break that follows. ;]

Its sad when parents move in a totally different state or country from you. Have you called her up to wish her a merry christmas? If not, maybe you can do that. I know its not the same though :comfort:

I know this isnt the same but my dads younger brother John lives in Europe with his second wife and we rarely ever see them.

It is hard at the holidays if you can't be with family or if there are ongoing family problems. I'll be able to spend it with my mom, but my dad and the rest of my family are on the other side of the country. I did have a new holiday experience last Friday though - I went to a winter solstace celebration that one of my friends had. It is a native american ceremony (she is part native american). Her father was a medicine man, so she has learned some of the ceremonial traditions from him. It was a beautiful ceremony and a lovely evening overall (which mostly consisted of eating lots of food and socializing with friends and family).

Thanks, Molly, and yeah, I'm going to give her a call both today and tomorrow to see how things are going. My younger brother and I are flying out to Florida January 12th-20th to visit her, so that will be really nice. =]

willow, that sounds like it was a beautiful ceremony! I'm glad you had a good time. I've never been to a winter solstice celebration, but I went to a Native American celebration in the summer a year or two ago. The music, food, and dancing were all wonderful.

Oh Im glad to hear that you are gonna see your mom! Thats your new years present lol

Oh I just noticed you started taking finacea on the 1st! How are you liking it? Is it helping? If my azelex cream runs out after only one month like it did that last time, as much as I love it, I might have to ask my derm if I can have finacea instead

The first 2 1/2 weeks that I used Finacea, I made the mistake of using both it and Clindamycin twice a day, which was way too much for my skin (my skins is very sensitive). For about a week now, I've just been using Finacea just in the mornings, no Clindamycin, but my skin is still very red and sensitive now. I'm hoping this fades in the next week or so.

So far, I haven't gotten new breakouts while on Finacea, so that's really great. Like I said, though, I've only been using it on its own for a week, so it'll probably be at least another week or two before I know whether it's enough to keep my inflammatory acne away. Fingers crossed! But I'll keep you updated. =]

Just me and my mom. My dad and stepmother are visiting her family in Southampton, NY (I went out there last year) and the rest of my family is pretty much all in the Chicago area. I was in Chicago for Thanksgiving, so I at least got to see family and friends then.

Im glad you got to see her for thanksgiving. My dad lived in Chicago from third grade and all throughout high school before he went to college in California.

Im not really a fan of clindomycin. It didnt really do anything for my skin. I also have highly sensitive skin. Good luck and I hope your face looks better soon too 😉

I decided to go back to the cleanser I was using before at least for winter. The prescriptives seems too harsh. I think it has fragrences which is a big no for my sensitive acne prone skin.

This morning, I have a new pimple above my lip. Its a two headed pimple. There is a lot of juicy visible puss so I popped it the way I usually do, wrapping paper towels around each index finger. I tried using q tips but that hurt and wasnt very affective so I went back to my paper towel method. This is the only new pimple I have this morning  😀

I have a few nasty papules I think they are that developed a few days ago but thats all.

My ear pimple is practically gone! It feels so much better. I showed the pimple to my mom and she said there was a lot of puss and that is was so ready. She just used the tweezerman tool and gently eased out the puss. It made that splursh sound and bled with that clear fluid. I dont even feel that pimple now

I have no new pimples today. I do have this one pimple on my lower lip however that I have had for a month and it just keeps growing a whitehead in the same place. It happened again this morning and like I always do, I popped it again using my paper towel around the index finger method.

I'm glad things are going well for you! I was wondering -- when did you start Spironolactone? I heard you have to go in for blood workup every six months with many doctors... Is that true?

I started taking spironolactone on November 8th so January 8th which is soon will be two months. I dont know if thats true or not. I guess its to be safe your blood pressure is normal, your salt intake is okay, etc. I think one dr would be enough though =/

My face gradually got worse today. I have two new noticable blackheads and one new papule really close to wear another one is that developed a few days ago. I have a lot of papules on my jawline and chin. I freaking hate winter! This happens every winter

Oh and my right side of my face looks worse than the left. I have a papule that is really big, its two papules right next to each other forming one. Then I have four others ones. It makes me look fugly even though I know Im not ugly. I used to feel ugly but people at work have been making me feel great. Ive had patients tell me they love me, using those exact words, "Molly, I love you! You are such a wonderful woman!" Ive had people tell me I look beautiful

I know, when my skin is looking better, I automatically feel prettier, but when I get new breakouts, I feel really gross, haha. I hope things improve quickly for you!

I decided to try Lac Hydrin Five since Addie likes it and other people on this site have had success with it. So far I like it, it moisturizes well and it doesnt make my face oily

I'm so glad that things seem to be going OK with your new regimen. How do you find the Aqua Glycolic helping any red marks that you have?

I love it! It really helps with my redmarks. I wish it would help with those small white bumps I have all over my chin and cheeks. I havent been getting cysts which is a plus! My face really itches though
