I'm quite sure that burn is VERY painful... it's a bad burn you got yourself Miss Molly!

I saw this Neosporin ointment today in Walgreens and it says it also has stuff in it to stop the pain and I thought it would have been GREAT for you! Those burn bandages are wonderful because they help the burn heal as quickly as it can, keep out germs while you have all that skin off, and keep it well covered. I hope it stops hurting and begins healing up nicely!

Have a great weekend shopping and take care! :D

Yes it hurts like hell. I had quite a time feeding the residents who need to be fed while they were sitting up in bed. It hurt to position my arm that way. Its not feeling any better. It feels just as painful as when it happened :(

I e-mailed my psychiatrist telling him my arm really hurts and he called my pharmacy and ordered me vicodin :)

Today when I was at the mall trying on lipsticks, one of the nursing supervisors that works in the nursing home I work in, she bumped my arm and said something teasingly. I dont think she was trying to be hurtful but it was. She said, "What are you doing, adding more zits?"

I have two new zits this morning but thats all. One is on my chin and the other I hate to say it is on my lipline again :wall: Hopefully, the combination of my sa and mandelic acid cleanser along with bp will get rid of these two pimples fast. My face is very dry and peely all over. I guess Id rather have that than really oily skin and more pimples

Oh fiddlesticks! I was looking in the mirror and noticed I have two more lipline pimples, one on the corner of my upper right side of my lip and another on my lower left corner of my lip. Its either the fact that I bought MAC lipgloss or the fact Ive been eating pizza

OH NO!!!

What could possibly be the cause?? You have been doing so well on this new regimen so don't get discouraged. Just deal with the individual spots so they heal up quickly! I do hate when my skin looks so good and all of a sudden BAM!!! something or other pops up unexpectedly!

I dont know what it is. My skin had been looking better since I started the new regimen and then out of the blue I broke out like crazy. I hate this. My forehead never breaks out. I might get one spot but its so small its not noticeable.

Arm wise, its healing quite nicely from these tegaderm bandages and the johnson and johnson hurt free antisepctic wash. I did get annoyed with my mom this morning though when she washed me with it. The pain is slightly better. When she put it on the other days, it made my burn sting like crazy right away. This time it didnt burn right about but after a few seconds it started stinging like crazy again. She did it for too long and she goes, "Honey do you want an infection and want to end up in the hospital?" I said, "No, I dont but I can take that risk." She goes, "Fine, if you dont want to use that, we will use soap!" I go, "UGH fine just use the antieseptic wash" She used the wash two different times for ten seconds. It was miserable 🙁 My arm is wrapped in the tegaderm bandage, its taped in four places, and I have it wrapped in a figure eight curlex. Its throbbing now :boohoo:

I have great news! This new cleanser and my septra made those two pimples on my lipline disappear really fast! Usually when I get those kind of pimples they just keep reforming puss. This time they went away in less than two days! Im so happy about that :D

Also, my arm isnt hurting as much as it was. I am on the road to healing :)

That's great news both for your face and burn!!

You said the septra and new cleanser made those two disappear unusually fast - you're still using the SkinCeuticals cleanser right? Also, did you use any bp as a spot treatment?

Proactiv has a sulfur mask that can also be used as a spot treatment. I was wondering if your SkinCeuticals mask can also be used as a spot treatment?

Have a great day!

My burn feels so much better today! I am so happy! It might not scar! This tegaderm bandage is incredible! I read more about it on line. What it does is it keeps the germs out, it prevents infection, and it forms this artificial bubble over the burn. I found out the reason they are so expensive is one of those bandages can be worn for seven days straight!

Yes, I most definitely am still using that cleanser. I might just have to order it and ask for one or two day delivery. Thats how much I love this cleanser! My derm appointment isnt until the 21st of this month (five days before my 24th birthday). I might have to order one of their moisturizers too because the one thing I dont like about this cleanser is it really makes my face peel like crazy. Id rather have peely skin though than ezcema on my cheeks and an oily face with lots of pimples. I dont want to run out of this cleanser before then and have to resort to using a drugstore bought facial cleanser. I did use the bp as a spot treatment. Thats why they disappeared so fast. I also have used the masque as a spot treatment. That reminds me, I shouldve used it on Monday because thats when I use it once a week. I will spot treat with the mask this morning and skip bp for maybe a few days. My face is too dry. When I start using the bp again, I will only use it at night. I was using it twice a day and maybe that is too much considering Im using an SA face wash and a masque

WOW - that is crazy good about the bandage! I know simple bandaids have come a long way in protecting little cuts with extra protection for the healing wound. It makes sense they would sell something to speed up a healing burn, while protecting it. Not to mention, remember you're taking septra which would definitely help guard against infection too!

Ahhh... you answered my questions about the cleanser because I knew you were getting close to using it all up, and I wasn't sure if you substituted it for something else yet or bought a new bottle of the same stuff. Your derm appt is right around the corner, but if you end up having to pay more for the online one plus shipping, making it more expensive than getting it at your derm, perhaps your parents could swing you around to the derm's office earlier than your appt to pick up another bottle. I agree you have been doing so well on it that you don't want to run out.

The interesting thing about it making you peel is all that sloughing off of dead skin is contributing to your clearer skin! Are you able to use the baby hair brush to get rid of that peely skin or do you have another method? I remember earlier you didn't want to use it bc your skin wasn't doing too well, but since it's all cleared up now, would you be able to incorporate that as needed to brush off the dead skin?

Yes, I would only use the bp once at night or morning when you begin to use it again. You can build up to twice per day if you feel your skin isn't responding as well to only once daily. It's better to build up to it once you begin using it again, than overdo it. That very well could be why your face is too dry right now! YAY for using the mask as a spot treatment too!

I really do think your log will be an inspiration to a lot of people who have had problems finding an effective regimen for themselves as you have tried many many things and THANKFULLY have FINALLY found something that is working! That's why I said not to become disappointed when you do occasionally break out simply because overall your skin is getting better and it is to be expected a couple of spots will sneak up! But now you have products that you are able to use as a spot treatment, and you see the ones that manage to pop up, disappear much more quickly! Good regimen!

Yeah technology is really awesome these days! Im so glad my mom found those bandaids. If she wasnt an RN for thirty five years, I bet she wouldnt have even known about that kind of stuff! Yes I sure bet Septra is helping promote healing. It helps not only with improving the skin on my face but the skin on my arm. 😀

I highly doubt my parents would drive me to the derm just to pick up a new bottle of the skinceuticals clarifying cleanser. I can barely get them to take me to the derm. I hadnt been to the derm for over a year and just recently started seeing him a few months ago. I had to beg my parents. They would argue the whole time that I didnt need to go to the derm and that they didnt have time. My mom would argue that she had been to the same hospital so many times because of her thyroid problem that she just didnt want to go there as least as possible. I think thats absurd but thats how my mom is. I love her, but she is like pulling teeth. Everything is a no answer with her.

No I havent been using the baby brush method. I completely forgot about it. Maybe youre right, I should start up with that again.

I was also thinking thats the reason Im peeling more than usually, applying bp too often. I dont want to aggrevate my skin by applying too much bp which in turn can lead to more breakouts.

I really do hope I inspire at least one person who decides to try my regimen lol

Omg this has nothing to do with acne but I find it so hilarious and I think youd find it funny too Melanie. So the other day I was talking to one of my residents in the nursing home. I really think she is fun to talk to, shes intelligent, and funny as hell lol Anyway, I remember her saying her saying in the past she was born in April. I forgot which day though so I asked her. Shes born on tax day 😆 I told her my birthday is April 26th. I dont know how she knew this fact, but out of the blue she goes, "OMG, you have the same birthday as hilter!" I started laughing my head off! Of all people Im born the same day as hilter, ewww! How she knew that weird fact is beyond me 😆

hahahahahha OMG HITLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Lord that is SO funny!!! She sounds like quite the character too!!! For her tax day could be a great day to be born if she gets back loads of money!!!

Well one thing you have going for you about your parents is the fact they do come through for you when you really need them! Not only did your dad initially buy you the products for your burn, but your mom saw you really needed additional treatment so she went out to get more specialized treatment bandages - with great results too! Hey! You should start an informational thread in the area that has nothing to do with acne in case someone else burns themselves. I think you have some really good product ideas that might help someone else out! As much as everyone tries to avoid being burned, accidents do happen unfortunately!

Anyway, when you're chatting with your mom, I'm sure she already notices how well your skin is doing. If she knows you're running low, and she knows how important that cleanser is to your being clear now, she might be willing to run you there and then you two could go out for lunch! Leave it to me to combine food with a skin product run!

Bye!

She really is a character! I did get annoyed with her the other day though. We were talking and then out of the blue she says to me, "Your skin is not looking good. Do you wash your face twice a day?" I know she meant well but it hurt my feelings. Of course I wash my face twice a day!

Tax day is great for everybody to get back loads of money like me! I got to buy two pieces of ellegant jewelry, a beautiful coach purse, two pairs of shoes, etc.

I am very greatful my parents ran those arrends for me since I was in pain. My dad also bought me vicodin after he had worked a twelve hour shift, waking up at 4:30am and working until 6. I am very greatful! I bet a lot of parents wouldnt do that. My parents really are caring. I have thanked them several times for helping me treat this burn.

What section would I put burn treatment in though and I dont know how to do it in a way that isnt a walking advertisement. I know advertising is against acne.org board rules and I do not want to disobey a reasonable rule.

My parents are really weird when it comes to eating out. They can definitely afford it on their income but they are very frugal with their money. They only buy things they feel are necessary and rarely ever eat out. My dad goes, "I hate eating out and I hate waiting for them to bring the damn bill!" Thats ridiculous! Eating in a restaurant is supposed to take time. You dont just sit there for five minutes and then leave dad... I personally love eating out and I do it often. I know she wont take me to the hospital to get that cleanser from my dermatologist. She will just tell me to use neutrogena. My mom is so busy these days she is rarely ever home. She works and goes to school to become a decan. She even goes to school every other weekend. Even if she wanted to, shed probably be too busy with homework to drive me to get it. My dad is eccentric. He definitely wont take me to get it. I love my dad but he is weird. Yesterday, he insisted that if I boil hot water in a pan, let it cool a bit, and put my head over it to steam my face that it will get rid of my blackheads and a bunch of them will come gushing out :crazy2: That will not get rid of blackheads and that will cause more acne I told him. He told me "you dont know your ass from a hole in the ground." lmao my dad has it the other way around. He has goofy ideas about how to treat acne.

Your parents do take very good care of you and I agree, lots of parents don't! I also know the type of person you are, that you thank them for being good to you. It's really nice to see appreciative kids for sure!

Ya.. that's a good question about the burn.. I guess I really don't know where I would put it either because advertising isn't allowed, although, I know when something works for skin you are allowed to put the link to the product I've seen all over the boards and done so as well. You could always ask a mod if you would like to post something about it, or even you could comment under your burn picture. It just gave you so much relief and help that it would be wonderful if people experiencing what you did would know what to do first to help them out. Give it some thought if you decide to do it, if not, at least it's here in your log lol.

I truly enjoyed all your thoughts on your parents. It's so amazing to me to listen to kids talk about their parents all the way from kindergarten through your age. I often feel the reason parents can be more frugal than their kids is bc kids generally begin to make more money at an earlier age than their parents did, simply bc of the whole pay scale thing, etc. PLUS parents are closer to retirement, so they want to be sure they have all the money they need saved up, so every penny counts, plus hate to say it, but as one ages, they get more fixed in their ways. So I giggled a lot when you said your dad doesn't like to wait for the bill! haha I can see the three of you sitting there and your dad wanting to just get home! I totally agree with you it is a whole mindset. You have to realize eating out is supposed to be the time you RELAX, take your time, enjoy conversation, and not RUSH!!!!

hahaha I love your dad's boiling water/blackhead theory!!! Too bad there are people all over the org that have already tried it with no 'gushing out' of the damn blackheads! That would be GREAT if it worked! He probably has never experienced the problem to really know how to properly treat acne, plus he never had to deal with such sensitive skin as you have! It's one thing to 'know' what to do, another thing to REALLY know what to do lol. 'Cures' are all over that he probably reads and believes, so he just kind of tells you them without actually realizing they don't work.

Ciao!

Excellent Molly! I'm so glad you were able to get it because you love it so much! It does have the mandelic and salicylic acids in it, so I'm sure those ingredients are really helping to keep your skin clear!

I

I do thank my parents when they do nice things for me. I have a hard time saying I love you to them though. I have a lot of resentment towards my parents, especially my mom. She says she loves me over the phone when we hang up but I dont feel its sincere always. They are just empty words. You have to actually show that you love someone. You cannot just say it and then be shitty. We have a lot of arguments that go around in circles because as you said when people get older they are set in their ways. Both of us are extremely sensitive too and you know how they say opposites attract. My mom is turning 58 in June. Im turning 24 in sixteen days. We were born in a different era and were raised differently. My mom was raised as a single parent because her dad died when she was ten years old from ALS.

lol yes thats exactly what I was thinking too! Lets just discuss my burn and how Im taking care of it here under my log 🙂

No, my parents began to make more money at a young age than I did. My mom was also a CNA in Napa California and meanwhile, she was going to school also to become an RN. She became an RN when she was 22 years old. My mom is more school and book smart and oriented than I am. My dad I dont know when he became a paramedic, Im assuming the same age. My dad is only nine months younger than my mom which I know is rare; usually the man is older by years haha My dad is also very book smart. He went to UC Berkley as a transfer student from UC Santa Barbara. My grandfather who died when I was seven also went to UC Berkley as did my grandmother. My uncle went to Standford. I have a very intelligent family. I on the otherhand HATE school because I have problems with reading for long periods of time without my mind drifting into left field.

We dont even get to the restaurant because my dad doesnt want to wait for the bill. Sometimes he and I go out to eat but its very unpredictable when he will say yes and when he doesnt want to. Of course, we always go out to eat for my birthday though. I still have to pick out which restaurant I want to go to.

He actually did have me try that boiling water thing one time. He showed me how to do it. Of course it didnt work. He honestly thinks it helps clears his pores. Its fine if he wants to do it but please spare me. I am not gonna do that crappy method.

I couldnt be happier with my skin right now. I have pimples but not nearly as many. The amount I have has been cut in half. Instead of having ten to fifteen new pimples a day, usually ten, now its five.

I decided not to wear make up today. I have been wearing make up most of the past two weeks. I need a make up break. I hope I dont get comments about my skin being flakey and I hope I dont get compliments that my skin is looking better. People at work treat me differently when I am not breaking out. I dont like that. Thats being superficial. They tell me I look pretty but when Im breaking out they go youre breaking you and they dont tell me I look pretty. They are so vein.

I just found out my cleanser is coming from NY. How can a cleanser get from NY to California in only three days? =/ A week yes, but five days, that sounds impossible to me

My burn is a lot smaller now It still really hurts now. It felt okay for a day and now its back to really hurting again. Its a different kind of pain now though. It doesnt sting. its just so tender and aches since its above my elbow joint. My skin is starting to grow back but the part where you see that white spot, that part is where I actually accidentally touched the inside of the oven. Its red and bloody looking still. :boohoo:

WOW - the entire area including the burn looks a lot better. I was hoping it didn't hurt you anymore! Darn burns! You can tell by the amount of gooey/bloody stuff on your arm that you really had a pretty bad burn! I'm glad you had it taken care of so well to minimize the potential for scarring.

But on the brighter side, your skin is improving so much! I wonder if the derm will add another product to your regimen. I don't know what he would add lol, I was just wondering haha!

Take care!

Yeah its healing really well but really slowly! Yes thats very true you can tell by the amount of gooey/bloody stuff on my arm that I had a pretty bad burn; I also have scabs. My arm would probably look a lot worse though if I didnt have medical professionals as parents.

I wonder that too! I really like that NeoBenz Micro. My next derm appointment is pretty soon. Its on the 21st.

Thank you! You take care too sweetie pie

Oh damn it! I put Dans bp on my face (I used half of my finger, I upped the dose, Ive been using bp for about three weeks, that includes neobenz micro 5.5% so I thought itd be okay to up the amount now), I waited like half an hour, put aloe vera gel on my face and waited for that to quickly dry. It made my face sting. My face isnt red at all in appearance but it hurts. Now my skin on my face and my arm hurts :(
