I have another pimple near my lip and another one on my chin :wall: My arm still hurts like hell so so Im gonna go to my dr tomorrow

YAY! Ive been using Dans bp for the past couple of days and it is burning my face like before 😀

You have been using Dan's bp for the past couple of days on your entire face as a preventative measure? or spot treatment? lol It's burning like it did before but did the NeoBenz burn too?

OMG Molly - that burn looks SO painful! Are you going to the doctor tomorrow if it's not looking better? It's good you're using the antibiotic ointment to keep it moist and protected, and that will also help with any discoloration. I burned the top part of my thumb with my curling iron lol, just a little bit, and that hurt like heck! I did notice the antibiotic ointment kept it healing nicely. Yes, unfortunately, there is a little mark, but it's going away nicely.

Let us know what the doctor says if you go.

It's too bad you won't be using your cleanser anymore, but will you purchase a cleanser with SA or MA in it? That would probably be a good idea considering I'm sure that has helped with your skin.

Take care kiddo!

Opps, I made a typo! What I meant to say is the bp ISNT burning my skin. lol I always make careless mistakes

Yes, I will most definitely call my drs office tomorrow morning and schedule a same day appointment. Im worried it wont heal nicely because my skin is so sensitive. It really does hurt and it even creeps me out to look at a piece of skin missing. I didnt even know that can happen to the skin. I thought our skin is a protective barrier! I took a nap for three hours and I probably wont sleep well tonight. I was too upset about my arm and I just wanted my worries to momentarily disappear :boohoo:

Yes, I probably will purchase a cleanser with those in it. I just have to figure out which one. If I have to order on line then I will do that

LOL - When I read it was burning your face AFTER you said YAY lol, I thought you were being sarcastic... kinda like YAY everything always burns my face why should this be any different... type of response lol. Hey... as long as it works well, that's great! Remember, fab skin needs some fab products!

Yes... good thing you are seeing your derm tomorrow regarding your burn. Skin does protect us, however, it is not indestructible. Here's a site so you can read up on the different type of burns for your reading enjoyment:

No, I wasnt planning on seeing my derm regarding this burn. I was planning on calling my primary care physician.

Thank you! Hopefully, this will heal nicely and that I will begin to feel better soon

F***! This isnt acne related at all but its about my skin. I was baking a pizza in the oven and when I opened the oven I had something else on my mind. I hit a part of my arm on the oven and a huge layer of skin fell off. It hurts like hell! Im gonna take a picture of it. Here it is. Nothing Im doing is helping it. Its very red, it stings and its very painful

Oww Molly, that looks pretty sore!

I know how easy it is to lose concertration for a few seconds when making dinner and do silly things like that

My arm is in so much pain today and I hope it doesnt scar 🙁 Today was just an all around not so great day. Also, one of the patients in the nursing home I like and that is very allert, she looked at my face and said to me, "What happened to your face? Do you not wash your face twice a day?!" It was hurtful coming from her

No, I havent used that as a moisturizer. I try to avoid oils and go more for lotions

I have gotten a few burns like that before, maybe not quite as large, but all I have on my arm are a few small white/pale scars that aren't noticable to anyone but myself. Whenever I have burned myself like that before I just keep putting Savlon or Sudocrem (both contain zinc oxide I think) on them for a few days and put a bandage over them and the pain usually subsides within a few days to a week.

Don't worry too much about what the old lady said to you. That kind of throwaway comment could have come from any random person. I guess the immediate reaction to someone with acne is to ask if they are keeping their face hygenic even though they are totally fucking clueless as to the true causes of acne. She was probably just trying to be helpful but that kind of comment to someone with bad skin can be perceived in other ways I guess.

Good luck with the visit to your doctor, hopefully he can give you some kind of ointment or cream to soothe that burn a little.

I noticed you mentioned you have been using BP over the last few days without any negative effects. Does that mean you are maybe going to try the regimen again? I think it could be really help you out as long as you give it a fair try for a few months. Granted, I have never tried Dan's Regimen but it does help a lot of people on here.

I had a quick look at the gallery section before which I haven't done in awhile and noticed some of the newer pictures you had on there. Whatever you've been doing, keep it up 'cause your skin looks noticably better from the older ones to the newer snaps 😀

Yes, my arm is in quite a lot of pain especially if I remove the curlex, put a burn pad, and then apply a new curlex, it stings like hell! Its right on a joint and that definitely is a second degree burn. It might take longer than a week for the pain to subside. I  this doesnt leave a nasty scar on my arm. Ive been applying neosporin cream also.

I do not drive and my dad thought it would be a waste of time to take me to the drs about my arm. Hes been a paramedic for thirty five years so he insisted he wouldnt learn anything new from an MD!

I didnt like her comment because for her to even think I dont wash my face twice a day is puzzling. I felt embarressed when she said that. I never go one day without washing my face twice a day

Im not exactly on the regimen. My cleanser has SA in it and mandelic acid. My moisturizer also contains SA I think. My face doesnt seemed to be too bothered by all this medicine though.

Hey!

I was just checking to see what the doc said about your burn, however, I see you didn't go. I'm quite sure your dad had it covered after all his years as a paramedic. Was he the one who told you how to take care of it or did you just know? As long as you keep doing what you're supposed to do for it, you will give it the best opportunity to heal up nicely. Because it's on that inside elbow portion, it must really hurt every time you move that joint! Even my little burn (about the size of a nickel) on the top of my thumb from my curling iron hurt! I'm glad your dad was able to give you pointers on how to care for it though. It is comforting to you I'm sure because he is so knowledgeable!

I can't wait to see your progress when your pics are posted. Have you decided what new cleanser you will purchase when your SkinCeuticals one runs out?

Take care kiddo and feel better!

This is going to sound random. But I wonder why a lot of people's acne is better in the Summer time... I'm kind of glad, it's getting warmer out. :D

Well I knew it had to be covered but I didnt know how to treat it really. He went to Walgreens the other day and bought me a first aid kit. He also bought me nexcare, burn pads, neosporin cream, and tape. Its bleeding and it hurts everytime I go to change the dressing

I dont know what cleanser I will purchase but it will probably be from SkinCeuticals again. I will never go back to using drugstore cleansers probably lol

You take care too and thank you 🙂

Is the burn any better? If it is not, you should consider going to a doctor (primary care, general practice) to have it examined because:

1. it is a rather large surface area

2. it is over a joint

3. it involves at least one layer of skin.

That's a bit of a high risk burn, particularly in your job description where splashes of fluid are bound to occur and you could develop an infection.

Hey Molly, how are you today?

I noticed you mentioned that burn you have is bleeding every time you change the dressing on it. The skin on the underside of the knee and elbow joints are very fragile combared to other skin on the body so I can imagine that it hurts like hell right now.

I agree with Wynne above me though that if it doesn't seem to improve at all within the next couple of days you should maybe get it checked out by your doctor at least just to get a second opinion. You don't want to run the risk of infection and maybe your primary care physician would be able to offer you some products on prescription to further improve the area.

As far as your skin is concerned, it seems as though you have found a regimen that is working well for you so far. You're probably far better going for a cleanser from a company like SkinCeuticals over a store-purchased cleanser as there may be less ingredients involved that could irritate your skin and there is also the fact that the ingredients in the cleansers/products bought over-the-counter that actually benefit the acne are not in as strong concentrations as ones sold in specialist sites over the internet.

The only thing is I noticed you are taking Septra. I don't really know that much about it or antibiotics in general but I did see that in another post someone who had been taking antibiotics long term had added probiotics to their diet to maintain a healthy balance and decrease the chances of developing any problems after finishing the drugs. If you are hoping to use the Septra for awhile maybe this could be something to help keep you as healthy as possible because I know some antibiotics can have adverse effects as well as helping your skin.

Just something to consider but if the probiotic thing isn't really needed just ignore all that, lol.

Im so so. I slept half of today until 11. I worked from 3-11 and I finished cleaning my patients early today which is a first. I had thirt minutes of relaxing.

My arm hurts like a bitch right now! It is really stinging! I just had to put on a new burn pad because the other one made a mess. Everytime I put the new pad on it really really stings. I hope this stinging subsides soon

I want to take the least amount of pills as possible. I added a multivitamin and thats all I will add for now. Maybe I can add probiotics later

I feel so happy my face is looking loads better! My redmarks are fading and my cheeks are not bright red like before :D

My arm on the other hand hurts like hell and I just wish this hadnt happened. It just stings so badly; its also bloody my bloody arm

I washed my face, applied a small dot worth of Dans bp, and then I put on the moisturizer. There is something about Dans bp and moisturizer that burns my skin. It happened again. I think Im just not gonna moisturize. I havent found that moisturizer helps me all that much anyway

I'm SO glad your face is looking better! With the warmer weather here, or almost here lol, you will be able to get out and about with nice clear skin soaking up the warmth of the sun (of course with sunscreen)! :ninja:

Your arm looks so painful! I agree you should have it checked out if you're not seeing progress. It's a rather large area in an awkward spot for healing because of the joint's movement. Is healing skin being pulled off when you remove your bandage, or do you have it adequately protected with enough ointment? That area where the blood is looks to be the deepest portion of the burn, is it?

About the BP and moisturizer... I've read around the org that a lot of people have a burning sensation when their moisturizer is applied after BP, not just Dan's. I've had that in the past when I've used certain moisturizers over BP, yet not with others. You might try putting on the moisturizer first, then put the spot treatment BP over that. Also, I know when I allowed more time in between the two, it didn't burn. However, I used the BP all over versus as a spot treatment.

Take care and let us know how you're feeling!

Im not gonna write much on the boards today because my arm is killing me. Yes, that is the deepest part of it. My mom is about to come over, look at it and rebandage me.

Im having a difficult time getting in for an appointment tomorrow.

lol My mom came over and shes taking excellent care of me. She bought me this band aid hurt free antiseptic wash made by johnson and johnson, she applied a new burn pad, two pieces of gauze, a curlex wrap and some tape to my arm. It feels somewhat better. She also bought me some cadberry with fruit chocolate :D

Face wise, I only have two new pimples and they are really small so its like not even having pimples. Im really happy with how this facewash and septra are working. I dont think I need moisturizer. People on this site say you must moisturize but I dont find it all that helpful and every moisturizer Ive tried doesnt agree with my face.

I'm pretty sure your "lol" was for that adorable little smiley on a stretcher! haha

YAY for moms who brings treats!!! :boogie:

I agree. If you don't need a moisturizer... don't use one! My husband has beautiful skin and do you think he puts anything on his face?!? haha He washes and shaves and sunscreens it when he's out and about. He isn't dry or oily or anything... just normal skin that requires nothing! So if you don't need it... it's one less product you have to use on a regular basis and only use it when you need it.

It's such an incredibly good feeling when your skin clears up! I'm SO glad you're getting to experience it after alllllllllll you've been through with your face. I really do think people who read your log and see your journey will have hope that they, too, will hit upon a great regimen for their skin. It took you a lot of time and patience, along with frustration, but I really do think you're on a good product line. SO glad for you!

Have a relaxing day with your mom, and of course, your chocolate! :hifive:

lol I bet if I burned my skin like that and you were my mom, youd also bring me a treat

My skin is dry but its not unbareable so I am not moisturizing. I no longer have I think what was ezcema on my cheeks. It was probably from moisturizing. I think using a nonfragranced and nonperfumed detergent has helped me immensely too. I am so glad that itching is gone. Patience is a vertue 😀

My mom went home already. She hasnt really been feeling well so shes lying down. I have to go to work soon too. I am off this weekend and Im gonna go on a shopping spree because I got a lot of money back for my tax return. Im probably gonna buy a pair of nike shoxs and a pair of cute pumps I saw at nordstrom. I love shoes!

I meant since I was talking about your burn, which wasn't at all funny, and then you started with an "lol" I figured you were laughing at that most adorable smiley being taken care of on the stretcher! I get a kick outta those little guys and figured it made you lol as well! But then I thought you might be laughing that your mom came over and was taking such good care of you and brought chocolate - yum!

Hope you have a good night at work and hope your mom's new burn wrapping will do the trick so it doesn't hurt so much! It was a bad burn so I'm sure it will take a while for it to feel significantly better. So, yes, patience is a virtue! ;)

It's so amazing to me that a change in detergent can make such a difference... yet it happens all the time! Your skin is just very sensitive to all those ingredients and it took a little while to wash it all out of your clothes and linens. Now you're on your way to total skin health and improvement!

Good luck finding all your fun shoes and everything this weekend! Plus, because your skin is looking so good, you will enjoy being out even more. By the way, have any of your patients or co-workers said anything about your skin looking better? I was wondering if they commented on progress since they always seemed to say something when it was breaking out!

Ciao!

My dressing my mom put on me feels really tight. It does stay in place better than the times I dressed myself though. Its kind of hard to put a dressing on my right arm when Im right handed! This pain is unbareable 🙁

Yes, Im glad I dont use that detergent anymore and Im glad to know that was the cause instead of something more complicated.

Naw, no one has been commenting on my skin lately. I dont even want to be told Ive had improvement. Its not a topic I really feel comfortable talking about with these people.

One of my pimples turned purple while I was sleeping :(

My arm still hurts obviously; today is the sixth day (it happened last Saturday). My mom is gonna go to a medical supply store later and buy a water proof bandage that wraps around. I will be able to wear it for two or three days without it falling off or getting messed up.

Cadbury! lol

That new waterproof bandage might be perfect because it gives it time to heal without disturbing the newly-forming skin underneath. Good luck with that!

hehehe 😉

Yes and it has medicine in it I think. It will form a bubble over the burn. Its very much like those bandaids you can wear in the shower but its better quality. My mom of course wrapped it in curlex so it doesnt get caught on things. My burn feels tramendously painful. I wish this wasnt a slow healing process
