YAY!
BP is very good for getting in there and killing off the bacteria, drying out the pimple, etc. I've always found that to work well, however, I've also found BP leaves a darker red mark than my other methods of dealing with spot treatments! BUT... if it helps the pimple to become less infected, less agressive, and heal quicker... it might be better in the long run!! So... go kill those guys with some BP!
Have a fun day!
hahaha no I didn't see the topic... as a matter of fact... I was just about to ask if she was able to jot it down for you lol too funny! I'll look for it - thanks for telling me!
That's great if the bare escentuals moisturizer works well for you. I just wish these manufacturers would take the acneic ingredients into consideration a little more when developing good products. People who don't usually break out end up breaking out and they wonder why... because their products contain ingredients that make them break out! UGH to them!
On a funny note... well not funny actually pathetic lol... so it's Girl Scout Cookie time and for as long as I can remember I've always gotten the peanut butter sandwich cookies and eat them with a nice glass of cold milk! You just can't beat that when you're in the mood for them, around spring time, Easter time, just anytime! Well, I've been eating them for a good two weeks now, since they arrived, 2 or 3 with a glass of milk at night... and sure enough... 3 new zits popped up, 1 on my upper lip and 2 above them!!!
Tonight, as soon as I felt their arrival, I grabbed a cup of hot water and did my hot method because that one on my lip hurt! Then when I was done, I applied some tea tree oil and let it soak in. Then about 3 hours later, I repeated the procedure, except this time, I did what Didi78 does and after applying my tea tree oil and letting it sink in, I applied some original Desitin ointment with the 40% zinc oxide in it. Well, I just washed it all off and the pain is almost totally gone.
What I noticed even better than that, is because they were 3 together, that area was kinda red and swollen initially. After I did my hot water compress, tea tree, Desitin, the area is normal skin color, with only 3 little pink spots, pain almost gone, but no swelling around that area anymore. Then I thought for a minute and realized that Desitin is for diaper rash... to calm it down... it is a soothing ointment... and it actually worked great! I thought you might want to give that a try some time over your BP bc I know you don't like tea tree. The Desitin seemed to calm down the whole area. I was actually very surprised. Thanks Didi78!
OK.. I'm heading over to your mama's recipe post! Please be sure to thank her for me!

lol its okay you didnt see the topic, no biggy
Yes, I hate when they put ingredients in it that causes breakouts! I dont think that even crosses their mind! It annoys me though. Ive experimented with buying so many products because I always have irritation from ingredients in a product.
Omg I love Girl Scout cookies! I was a girl scout when I was younger. I had to much fun as one. Anyway, the peanut butter ones are really delicious. Thats cool you were able to make the pain go away in a short duration of time. I think the reason I had two pimples on my lip line mightve been because I had peanut m&ms two or three days in a row. I will never do that again lol
Ive tried desitin a couple of times and it didnt really do anything for me. My face is looking better today! YAY, hopefully this antibiotic is really gonna help me 😀
I am happy to announce that this septra is already helping, my skin doesnt itch as much, Im getting less pimples and the ones that I do have are healing quickly, and my cheeks are not as bright red.
EXCELLENT!!!
Ya know what's interesting? Remember when you took a poll to see if other people had trouble with itching pimples and we discussed the fact that healing zits DO itch? It really might have simply been the fact because you had so many coming out new, which itch sometimes, then healing, which itch sometimes, then cause irritation, which definitely itches sometimes, that the whole combination of just having that many on your face at one time made you more itchy, plus your dry/sensitive skin. Then you needed to scratch more, but gently, and it just exacerbated the whole situation!
By this clearing up your active spots, you have less areas to itch! The septra would not have cleared up any allergies if you are allergic to something like the detergent, but it would have cleared up the cause of your itching if it was due to the zits! Good news for sure! Plus it sounds like the BP for spot treatment is working well not to mention that mask you use a couple of times per week and the salicylic acid cleanser. Hopefully he hit on a great treatment plan because so far, it's on the upswing!
Next thing... is your body still itching or did the new detergent clear that up? So, maybe it was the detergent causing the itching on your face and body and not the zits? haha
Have a very Happy Easter if you celebrate it!

I dont even care anymore what the cause of the itching was. Im just glad most of it is gone! My arm isnt itching, my face itches slightly and my legs itch slightly. Slightly is much better than before though where I was itching severely,
Thank you! You have a Happy Easter. Im working but thats okay. I love the residents in the nursing home I work and I get double pay
Did you get my last e-mail Melanie?
Oh crap! So I had these two pimples adjacent to one another and I popped them using my knuckles but I didnt get the core of the zit out. Apparently, I pushed too hard too because they turned purple. I put bp on it and it formed a beautiful scab, it was healing, and I thought oh great, this wont scar or turn into a redmark. I picked the scab off and it didnt bleed. This morning Im back to square one and they are purple again!
I am slowly making progress. I have a lot of redmarks though and I still am getting new pimples everyday. Fortunately, instead of getting ten new pimples a day, its more like five. I will post another pic in my log
It sounds like you're doing really well on this regimen! I didn't realize that cleanser also had mandelic acid in it... so it has salicylic and mandelic in it... two great things to help with your skin! How do you like the mask that you use a few times per week?
I love it also! These sure beat drugstore products
*sigh* I am getting so frustrated with make up. I tried to put on some Bare Escentuals and it looked okay except for my damn nose! It always gets rubbed off with the brush, I dont know why. This time part of my nose was rubbed off, but another part of my nose looked very cakey and I could see the blackheads through the make up. I tried two different times to apply the make up and ended up removing it with my prescriptives make up remover and washing it off with water. UGH! I I didnt aggrevate my skin and that I dont get another massive breakout
As of yesterday, here is my skin http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...i&img=28229
hey guys, what do u all think about a regime that includes glycolic acid at day and a retin-a at night?? has anyone ever tried this? i'm thinking about starting this regime. i'd really appreciate any advice. thanks alot.
ps. acne_battle ur skin looks alot better. u jus seem to have some scarring. looks like ur regime is workin for u.
To me, you look great! I looked at your previous pics and can definitely see an improvement! It seems like your face is less inflamed and "puffy" where you had flare ups if that is a good word to use! Yeah for you - it seems like this new regimen is working!
Yes, thats a perfectly acceptable choice of words! Im glad you see improvement and thank you for the encouragement. Im worried this new cleanser Im using wont last me even two months though. I dont know what I will do after this cleanser is gone
That's gonna be about $28 per month on that baby!!! But think of it like this..... it's about $1 a day to look beautiful! And... nobody ever said looking fabulous was cheap! lol
If that's the only product you need to use besides that mask once a week, consider yourself lucky because lots of other topicals are more expensive, also using only a pea-sized amount. After your face gets beautifully clear, which it's on its way, you can think about switching things around if you want, but it's doing a great job for you. Considering all the other products you've used with no success, I'm sure it's well worth the $28.
Your new picture looks like this regimen is really working well. The puffiness is gone, the redness is gone, I bet the itching is almost gone too?! Your skin has a nice healing quality about it so I'm thinking it will continue to improve for you.
Also, can't you buy SkinCeuticals products online for less? Check it out because I thought I've seen them before!
Ciao!
I never thought of it like that lol Maybe you are right. The only problem is I will have to order on line because my dermatology appointment isnt until April 21st.
I think part of the reason the itchiness is gone is because winter is gone and because I stopped using that neutrogena moisturizer and I do not put a lot of stuff on my face. I still am breaking out nonstop though even with this antibiotic. Yesterday, I got two pimples along the bone of my chin, one of the left and one on the right and they both look like mosquito bites
I my face looks a lot better by my birthday which is a month from tomorrow. Im happy for my mom and dad too, tomorrow is their 25th wedding anniversary
Skinceuticals is being discontinued on skincarerx.com - and they have dropped their prices 40% on some of the products - http://skincarerx.com/skinceuticals.html , it may help in purchasing a few of the cleansers while you can. I have a coupon if you order online - SHIP15. It will save you 15%.
Edit - you know what - never mind, I just looked up your cleanser and it is being disc due to manufacturer restrictions, but they offer an alternative - sorry!
Hi Molly! I'm going to be getting Levulan+IPL for my acne and Rosacea. If I clear up with the treatments, I'll let you know! Hopefully your antibiotics will take care of everything, though. I'm also waiting for Minocycline to work... I started it about two days ago. So much waiting, I feel your pain... lol...
