I also want to try this.

Went to shops today, but cannot find "Head and Shoulder Classic Clean". I don't think this shampoo (classic clean) is sold here in New Zealand. Weird.

Instead, I saw Head & Shoulder (HS) dandruff treatment clean balanced, HS treatment dry scalp, HS dandruff treatment menthol, and HS dandruff treatment smooth/silky.

So, can I use any of those instead of the "classic clean"? The main ingredient, ZINC is the same for all.

i use clean & balanced. avoid those with more fragrance. im not sure with menthol but my friends who used it on hair said it was too drying.

answerme, you from New Zealand?

When I compared the ingredient of the clean & balanced at shops with the classic clean on webs, huge different. But, the main active ingredient is zinc lol.

answerme, how does the clean & balanced help on you?

BTW, I like you name, do you think you have such a nice name? yes? answer me.

LOL! no im not from new zealand, im from the phils!

i always hear people noticing difference in the ingredients of various products from country to country. i guess it's all due to what the regulating boards in the country permit.

anyway, with regular H&S clean and balanced, i noticed a quick improvement in my forehead, where i used to have tiny pimples. and yes for a long time now it's been keeping it clear/almost clear.

BTW, I like you name, do you think you have such a nice name? yes? answer me.

of course! i demand answers.

Thought I'd post an update since this topic seems to remain active.

I've finally entered a clear phase using H&S Classic Clean. When I say clear phase I mean I've developed no new pimples or zits of any kind.

This product definitely works for me.

I will definitely agree that this product dries your skin out quite a bit. You just need to apply a small amount of moisturizer to counter the dryness.

Personally I think my skin looks better a little dry and flaky, then broken out with scars everywhere. I mean for the first time in years I have no pain in my face and that fact alone has improved my life dramatically.

I've been using this for about 3 weeks now and had decent success with it. In fact It's probably the most effective and fast acting acne product I've ever tried.

I have really oily skin with persistent and moderate acne.

Before going on this I could run my fingers across my forehead and it almost felt scaley from all the little acne bumps. Now it's smoother than it's been in years. Also it cleared up the painful zits I used to get around my mouth and cheeks. My skin is also much less oily, although still oily.

I won't say this solution is 100% effective because I still get a few pimples every week, but it's a massive improvement.

I currently use it twice a day. Once in the shower in the morning, and once at night before going to bed. At night I just splash water on my face then lather it. Then I wash it off throughly. Be sure to do a good job washing it off as it can make your face red if you leave it on if you have sensitive skin like I do.

If it wears off in time, I'll post it.

Ackanated,

Do you recommend other H&S like smooth/silk, clean balanced?

Here, I can't find the 'classic clean'.

Do you wash your face using H&S?

Yes I wash my face with H&S Classic Clean morning and night. I use the same routine that I posted back on Sept 13th.

even using H&S as a shampoo prevented me from getting new whiteheads anywhere near the hairline.

This is kind of understandable, I've heard that zinc helps acne. It's really odd using a shampoo to fight acne though so of course I was skeptical. I'd pretty much try anything at this point though. I've used this for three day and I can already see a result. It is drying though but if I use a moisturizer I don't have a problem with it. It really does seem to open up my pores. I'm not sure if I'll keep using this though, just because it feels really odd to use a shampoo on my face, it's just to good to be true. I'm guessing it will be one of those treatments that stop working in a month.

my acne condition was mild; one to two zits a week and oily skin. morning and night i would have to apply acne cream but now i no longer do that.

i started washing my face with head and shoulder for 3 weeks now and the results are incredible. my skin is incredible soft and smooth, i wouldn't expect from a shampoo but its actually the best cleanser i've used. it does not dry out your skin or irritate it. My acne is gone, sometimes i get white head but it goes away in 3 days or less.

the best part is that i no longer use any acne product and it feels great!. my regimin now is wash my face with head and shoulder and nothing else.

if you do try, make sure you get the Head and Shoulder Classic Clean without the conditioner in it. good luck and best wishes. i'm here to answer any questions.

if you really want to kick bacteria's asses use selsun shampoo series with the selenium sulfide... it's much stronger that all the available antybiotics, it also normalizes oil production and nicely remvoes dead skin cells.

I've completely changed my mind on this. I think my skin is just too sensitive, since last time I posted I developed a rash, where ever I used the shampoo.

Argh. I just went out and bought H&S 'dry scalp care' - 'classic clean' isnt in the shop (I'm an aussie).

Blah.

I dunno whether to use it or not (for skin coloured forehead bumps).

Everyone saying not to use anything but 'classic clean' - have you actually used a different type?

EDIT:

Just had a thought. For everyone saying that 'classic clean' is too drying... perhaps 'dry scalp care' wouldnt be? I assume it would have more mosturising agents since its for dry hair...

Anyway, I dont think I'll get a reply within the next hour or so, so I'm just gonna go ahead and try 'dry scalp'... Fingers crossed!

Been using for a little while now -- it certainly works for me. I am quite bad at keep up with using it regularly... I bought a load of Sanex shower gels (also good and have zinc in!) before I got the H&S, so feel sort of obligated to use them up!

I found that using it twice a day or even once a day was too much. I had painfully sore skin and was really uncomfortable. I would do the following:

wash with and wash off 3/4 times a week

wash with and leave on 1/2 times a week max.

I found that washing with it and then towelling it off was actually a happy medium, but again no more than a few times a week.

It has certainly worked. I have had bacne for years now and nothing shifted it... this has. It's brilliant!

Only came across this thread today, i'm going to try it. Currently i have 6 active sore zit and i won't be using anything else after the wash. I've been using H&S for my hair wash since i could remember, i'm suspecting it might the reason why my forehead is totally clear of acne. Just have to try it on my cheek and chin to test how it goes. :)

hi all, im new to the board. I came across this board, because last week, i didnt have any soap to use, so i washed my face with head & shoulders. When I got dried off, my face felt tight, not flaky, etc.... it felt good. Now granted, in the past I have used H&S on other parts of my body when a rash or something may develop, and it always clears it up within days, so im kinda surprised i never thought of using it on my face before now. Well, anyways, I have used it for the last 6 days, and my face seems to be getting clearer, not too much flaking, and I seem to like it. Oh, and it is the H&S Classic Clean. The problems i have had in the past are constant bumps on my chin and cheeks, my forehead has usually been acne free.

Now, i went to the doctor today, and told her about my new experience with H&S, and she says I look very clear, so since I like the Zinc P.." (whatever it is), so she now recommends what is called "ZNP Bar Soap" cause she says she doesnt want me using the H&S cause it does have other detergents in it..... So I ordered it from Walgreens today, it will be here tomorrow. I will share my findings with the group as well.....

Has anyone ever tried ZNP bar, or even heard of it??
